How is using power for the purposes that you list a bad thing? Far better him in control of fate than the occuria, and the Bahamut was necessary for political and military reasons.
He also didn't particularly seek to control the nethecite (although it wouldn't have been a bad thing if he had), he aimed to destroy it. He destroyed the cryst rather than attempt to use it.
He was the True Hero of FFXII and of Ivalice.

The only buff that stacks is the physical mitigation of 9S's TM with the normal mitigation of all damage. They're considered different buffs but both give you protection for physical (and magical for one).

Most other buffs don't overwrite but get on top of each other. Let's say you have a 45% atk buff for 5 turns and get a 100% atk buff for one turn. Your character will get 100%, but revert back to 45% the next turn.

That's not entirely true.
Reflect and Mirage are both buffs, and they absolutely stack too.

Keep in mind that some bosses are immune to breaks so it's a case by case scenario. Some bosses you can break their Def/Spirit/both and stack an elemental imperil on top of that

Why wouldn't they when they affect different things? Reflect gives you reflect magic, while mirage negates two physical attacks.
By stacking I mean increasing the effect of a same buff.

Actually, the world is just fine without Vayne. That's the point. The world doesn't end without the occuria, and it doesn't need some guiding hand from Vayne either. It doesn't need dynast kings. Larsa, Al-Cid, and Ashe all show that through their cooperation and ability to see beyond themselves.
