Yoma is just a term that refers to any monster with high magical abilities and gameplay-wise it gives TT a way to not have to make a bunch if different races for any one monster that doesn't fit in with the rest. That's why Cassandra, Mephisto, Sara, Sphinx, UN_DO's titty monster, Paintgeist, and both Elder Scylla and Elder Lamia are all considered Yoma despite basically lacking any relating features.
