Super Flickies were part of what was meant to be Hyper Tails, the decision to move Super Tails to the Super Emeralds was something done super late in development.
It's different with Zelda fans, I feel. With his Zelda opinions pretty much everyone disregarded them and he exposed himself as an idiot. People still take his Sonic stuff (and opinions in general) seriously for some reason.
This is the same guy who complains about over tutorializing but then ignores optional explanations, only to complain that he has no idea what he's doing and that the game should have told him. He's a failed animator who became a YouTube clown because it was easier.

The Super Emeralds are still around in Sonic Adventure, and Gerald recreated it in Ark, the altar just got redesign. I haven't spoiled myself on much of Mania, though, so maybe I'm missing some information.

Mania dev here. The decayed Super Emeralds are a little something we put in as a possible plot device for a future sequel. If we ever get to make one, look forward to it. :)
