head's fucked and he's just a shrimp knuckles with shit glued on. if you're going to redesign knuckles, you should probably at least follow boom's example and bulk him up a little.

also it's a kinda shitty way of wording this but PURPLE EYES actually look really bad when they're solid like this.and those shovel claws don't really look like they'd be very useful, those look less functional than both pairs of shovel claws we've seen him use.

not even gonna try to hide how assmad i am, i'm pretty assmad
two weeks is a long time to wait while everyone else i know and love are having fun with the game.

i don't give a flying shit about denuvo though, i bought it on PC because i wanted it on PC, not in the hopes that there'd be mods

Denuvo is an anti-piracy DRM for video games. One of the side effects of it (I'm guessing due to the way it encrypts files) is that it makes modding impossible, or at least difficult.

This, among other things (such as the fact that it apparently enforces requiring an internet connection for certain games, and eats system resources, many other things which don't really have clear proof but I'm sure someone here could give you anecdotes) is why many people do not like Denuvo.

It's not confirmed but rumors have been spreading that they're going to put Denuvo in the PC version.

So once Forces comes out it will be labelled as irredeemable trash as soon as they get to the character creation menu, and Mania will be completely forgotten so that they can continue saying "Sonic was never good", right?

Bought the game at midnight and played through the first three zones and 12 special stages.

SEGA fuckin did it. They made the Sonic 4 everyone wanted at some point. What with the shields and the physics and actually being able to fly without needing two controllers, it's incredible. I really can't believe just how good it is. Also, MEAN BEAN MACHINE BOSS CAUGHT ME COMPLETELY OFF GUARD

I went into No Save mode and they still weren't usable.

No save mode, press X to access your secrets. They're only available in No Save, so you can't carry your Super Peelout or Insta-Shield onto actual save files. And don't even get me started on the AND KNUCKLES bonus.

Went back to the main menu and some unlock prompts came up that said I unlocked Super Peel Out and Insta-shield but how do I use them? trying them in single player doesnt do anything

they're no-save runs only for some unfathomable reason, a button prompted "Secrets" will appear when highlighting it

even worse, you can only have the Peel Out, Insta Shield or Drop Dash selectively, you can't have all of them at once

for anyone who hasnt started mania yet. first thing I recommend doing is goign to options and turning the anti-aliasing filter (called "Clean") off. No idea why this is the default, game looks way better without it.
Also Im not using them but the CRT filters are actually pretty nicely done. Not too harsh or just black lines shown on a screen.
I dont know why you would use them since the game is designed for modern screens and has detailed pixel art

To be fair, Unleashed would be actually be decent without the forced Werehog stages and Medal Collecting..

My biggest problem with Mania is how easy the stages are, and then how suddenly difficult the bosses can be. Press Garden act 2 and Metallic Madness were fucking great

Yeah it's dumb. If he just said something like the werewolf was bad because it took like 70% of the gameplay since they are so long the stages and uninspired which ruins the pacing and experience of the good parts of the game which makes the overall game feel like filler to get to the good part of the game. Like if the developers were afraid to make a 4 hour game and charge $60 for it.

I can understand that, but I thought it was more to point out examples of bizarre decisions made in developing Sonic games, and then how Mania is pleasant in that it's solid, straightforwards and consistent. Not just, "lel 3D sanic sux".

He argued that 3D Sonic games are all bad by saying Unleashed doesn't count and not mentioning Colors and Generations, two of the more well-liked recent 3D games. That history lesson made up a good chunk of the video; not liking the review because it was unfair to old games that have nothing to do with Mania is not unreasonable when the review goes out of it's way to claim they are all bad.

There is no doubt that Sonic Mania will hit sell expectations and the budget will increase if they ever do another 2D sonic game. Maybe charge 30$ for it.

I can't imagine this being a one-off if it hits expectations. If they gave Boom a sequel, then this deserves one.
