what else is out there? dicuss pro and cons of these cars

no, the MX5 is not an option, needs at least 2 seats with 2 ""seats"" in the back

If you don't list any more requirements, these are also RWD and available in manual

Ford escort.

>E32 - wallet rape
>E38 (rarer manual) - wallet rape
>E46 - coupe only then, 6 cyl or up
>E60 - not sure if they are that affordable yet
>E87 - pls no my wallet
>E90 - wallet and insurance rape
>W201 - too old, sorry
>W202 (top comfy if no rust) - gets me hard with that wiper, want to retrofit to other car
>W203 - yuck the design
>W123 - too old
>W124 - only 6 cyl please, not sure if I can afford them
>W126 (manual rare) - pls no wallet raperino
>W210 - yuck
>240 - bit too old for me, sorry
>740 - not my thing either
>940 - gud choice

cool, but too old for me, unsafe and not really suited as DD

should have stated that I need it as DD too

Lexus IS200?

You mentionned E30, and most E30 sold around here are as old as most escort sold.

true, but prefer the E34 520i 24V and Omega B 2.5 V6 a lot

Interesting choice, almost nonexistant here though

Honestly get an e36 coop 6 banger any or E46 330i

>Interesting choice, almost nonexistant here though
If you can find one, go for it. It's basically a rarer 3-series with Toyota reliability

E36 is kebab bomber and kinda hard to find in decent shape too, 330 is a lot in insurance

MR2?

also hard to come by

Here are some suggestions
>E34 535i (or E32 735i)
>W124 300E
>W201 190E 2.6 or 2.3-16
>Volvo 960
>Omega A 3.0 24V

I'd suggest staying away from the E36 unless you can afford an M3.

Don't buy either. The 520i is painfully underpowered and the Opel V6 is a POS.

Fox Body Mustang is always the answer. Even in Europe.

You know, you might be right. Manual fox bodies go for more than 5k these days though. I used to see them go for 4k, now they cost more like 10.

Wow that’s crazy. I’m not in the market for another car (I already have a fox body as a project car) but just to prove the point I’m looking at an SVO Fox Body right now that’s $3700 ameribucks with crazy low miles. They go for essentially nothing here in Virginia. Honestly every car is dirt cheap here, I have no idea why people have a hard time finding a car that they want but maybe I’m spoiled by my environment.

where do you live?
Also why do you wanna DD a manual RWD.
Dont get me wrong but you sound like a typical teenage boyracer trying do drift.

Don't expect reliability s-chassis

I collect classic BMWs for some time now and I definitely enjoy driving E30s the most.
Even (or especially) the smaller 4cyl ones are great fun because of the light weight and swift engines.
The E34 (I have a M5 touring atm) is rather boring. Sure its fst as hell and overtaking feels like on a motorcycle
but the driving experience is rather modern. Too much electronics for my taste (servotronic etc.).
But its very roomy and comfy with AC, cruise control, double sunroof and what not.
If you like it simple go for the E30, if you need a bit more space and comfort maybe the E34 is for you.

E36s are also great fun plus they are cheap as hell right now.

whats wrong with daily driving manual rwd?
is automatic fwd the only daily drivable car?

post your m5 touring

Don't get me wrong but you sound like a typical soyboy trying to get from point A to point B without having any fun.

What should you look out when looking for an E36? They are dirt cheap over here but what versions should I look for and what ones to avoid?

W124 and most Mercs on your list are 6 cyl. 124 manual would be perfect.

Its time to say goodbye soon. It has its 25th bday soon so maybe it will find a new home in the US.

First check for rust, especially in the sills. They rust there badly.
Enginewise you cn pretty much buy everything apart from early 4 doors, they sometimes have the M40 engine in it which is prone to
camshaft failure and a belt eater.
The 318is is good fun for a 4 banger and of course the M50/M52 family engines are powerful and reliable 6 cylinders. Maybe check VANOS, but fixing that doesnt cost an awful lot.

e36 are dirt cheap because they're mass produced cars and they've hit the bottom of depreciation
a clean, well kept example with a 2.5-2.8 liter isnt that cheap btw

holy fuck.
best color, best wheels.
one of the best cars on this board

Thanks, I love it too. Just pure 90s

Do you think a clean e36 328is will appreciate in the future?
Currently deciding whether or not I should keep mine or replace it with a cheap daily.

depends on where you live
in Germany it's already near impossible to find a clean e36 328i below 3k euros

Germany
want to learn stick
and guess what too :)
S14s start at 10k, S13s (a good one) are 6-7k. I want to upgrade to one when I have the money later one
E34 and Omega are decently safe, have lots of space and can be picked up anywhere
only mustang for the price are early SN95 V6, yuck. Wouldn't complain about a New Edge GT though
neidisch (dezent)
yes it will, prices have pulled already and will continue to do so

I am also looking to buy a new car and I want a fun to drive luxury car.
Just wanted to ask you guys here, what you think of the E60 (520-530 are the ones I can get).
I am from Austria, so US cars are pretty much not an option here for cheap.
My other options would be S-Type, IS250, CTS and that kind of stuff.

is250 and e60 are decent
e60 would be comfier

Sierra
unironically

Any experience with E60? Any models to avoid? Extras to get? How is maintenance?

>too old
>ugly design
Sorry man, you've got shit taste and it can't be helped

safety is a concern of me, also
>liking the w203 and calling out people on their taste
good one.

Bruh you listed an omega B

me and my friend own e60 530 diesels. mine has 460.000km, my friends has 315.000km.
nothing has broken down, my friend had his DPF removed.
I replaced the transmission oil pan and put new oil in mine recently.

yeah, it looks better than a w203, by ages

Does sound pretty decent for a BMW. Hope the petrol engines are the reliable aswell, because I ain't gonna get no diesel ever

the older petrol engines (until 2005) are very reliable
the newer ones, not so much

Thanks for the advice !

this Basically all Engines starting with "M" are reliable, like M10, M40, M43, M44... M50, M52 etc. Old and simple.
the chaos started with the "N" engines in E46, E90, E60 and newer. And in case something fails its cheap and easy to fix.
Stay away from "S" engines from BMW M cars (M3, M5...)

with that buget you can get a super comfy MB w201 190e. I love mine, get one with a good engine and they're decently fast. Better dd's than the E30s imo. Its my dd though, great for traffic, cruising and chillin, not my fun car.

Related to the thread: I'm looking into buying a 318Ti as my dd, M3/E46 are not an option since I'm in a third world country
I'm going to inspect it tomorrow, what are the main things I'll be looking for?

The 4 cylinder E46's use 'N' engines, but they aren't super unreliable like the turbocharged N54. That doesn't really matter though, because no ones gonna buy a 4 cylinder E46 in Freedom Land. All the good E46s use the 6 cylinder M54. (Or S54 of course). And the M54 is a solid engine.

Mercedes w124 300CE M104

for 5k you can buy literally all of them, see which you like best and sell others

get an e90 320d

>yeah, it looks better than a w203, by ages

Jaguar X300 XJR was available with a manual and can be had for ~$5k

Ayy are you me?

I have one of these.

Omega A

Get the E36

E34 and E39 have shit steering
E30 has a shit rear end and will either be a rusty pile of junk or insanely overpriced

Omega B is like 1k euros, if that is your preferred its an easy choice.

Rx8 or manta for maximum memes

E34 with m60b30, high rpm v8 the best

why not m60b40

>shit steering

Coming from a Toyota owner

How much do 4th gen f-bodies go for in yuroland?
I know there were some imported, but I bet a V8 is uncommon. Don't bother with any V6.

i like smaller v8's

nigga i'll race you in my yota v8 landbarge on bürgerring if you even dare to show yourself

why buy here when can import
30% of price as an import tax and that's pretty much it

>30% of price as an import tax and that's pretty much it
Then it's not 5k car anymore.
30% tax is fucking robbery too.

well it's ok if you bring something from a japanese auction when you bought it for like 500usd and spent like 2k delivering it here and changing the headlight beam direction

I own 3 E36s and a 7 series lol
Why you hung up on my Toyota tho?

I mean the recirculating ball steering on the 5 series is one of the best, but the rack & pinion is much better.
