a what?

Stop being new

no really, what is that?

Can you not google?

but then i would be missing out on this lovely conversation with you, anonymouse!

>babby learned a new word today
>quick, I need to make a thread on Veeky Forums!

It's what makes typical V8s make V8 noises, since you wind up having to fire two cylinders in a row on the same bank and it's a pain in the ass to try to get fully equal length headers rather than just equal length per bank.

Agreed, crossplane sounds like shit.

>flatplane crankshaft

Why did you bother explaining this to him? He's either trolling or is legitimately too stupid to Google shit and not worth helping

thank you user!
naw, i just prefer talking to people

Because if you only have part of the answer then you can avoid grotesque suicide at boring meetings at work by trying to design a better engine.

flatplane faggotry v8 just sound like beefy inline 4s. fuck them.

Yeah, much better than crossplane garbage. Only BMW makes halfway decent sounding crossplanes.

V12 is the only answer. Two glorious perfect I6 engines Eiffel Towering that little bitch of a crankshaft.

>his v8 doesnt rev to 8k
>his v8 sounds like somone farting under water
>his v8 needs 7 liters to make 300hp

>huurduur muh vibrations

flatplane master race

Why would you want a flatplane v8 then in the first place?
Nowadays turbo v6 engines have similar or better output while running way more efficient.

The coolest thing about the meme v8 was the crossplane sound. If you take that away you could just take a turbo6 or even 4.

Flat plane has less rotating mass, making them better for accellerating rather than delivering steady-state torque. Perhaps not too surprisingly, an engine designed to be able to spin itself faster as fast as possible often makes for better numbers in a competition based on needing to speed up and slow down a whole lot rather than a tractor pull or something like that.

Crossplane V8s sound like complete shit. Pretty much every V6 sounds even worse.

Flatplane has muh revs and sound, show me a turbo 6 or 4 that reaches 800hp on a simple tune like a Ferrari flatplane V8.

>Flatplane crankshaft

>crossplane
Ayy what up. Now if only jewmaha didn't buy Kobe Steel metal to produce them. The 2015+ ones have massive problems with rekking the crank at the first crank journal

fag
also youre a fag too

That guy is gonna become a namefag in three days tops

Enjoy your shitty reliability and excessive vibrations, flatcuck.

mario is italian he would love flatplane cranks you normalfag

>not V10 for that glorious scream

...

Retard post. This user is a retard.

OP you’re a fag who doesn’t understand smoothness or torque.

Are you one of the guys that hates consumers for loving the Ridgeline?

Are you one to want a POS Range Rover with the WORST truck motor ever?

>op doesn't understand smoothness or torque
>likes the engine that's smoother and makes more torque

Crossplane is garbage.

nah, i don't buy into that stuff and i'm fine with my anonymity

>DOHC V8

this interpretation of a v12 made me chuckle

Why is he Australian specifically?

Because i am we all have dohc i6 turbo and v8 pushrods down here m8

modern crossplane is god-tier 2bh fampai

Sounded like shit the instant it started idling.

>driving with your 4-ways on

It's like you hate a balanced engine.
youtu.be/Ug5ABwCUHYg
And crossplane sounds a damn sight better than flatlane you retarded contrarian.

Retarded validation seeker, crossplane sounds awful.

>popular opinions only gain momentum on the grounds of validation
Flawless logic. Keep masturbating to even pulse collectors and other irrelevant measures whilst intentionally ignoring arguments of relevant practicalities.

>liking something else means you're a contrarian
>gets triggered when called out for validation seeking

Lol, keep jerking over your awful sounding tractor.

>gets triggered when fanboy logic is debunked
>claims calling out fallacy is seeking validation
Great job! I'll tell you what. I'll concede you have a valid point, if you show a timestamped picture of your Ferrari IMSA race car.

>It's a fallacy when you do it.
>It's ok when I do it.

lol

Why does nobody like the V8 Barra again?

>v8
>barra
m8

most of them came with like 200kw or less

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Modular_engine#Ford_of_Australia

Some aint shit but thats not many

>subjective opinions and objective opinions are the same thing
Nice try strawman.
On that note...
The majority of tractors I've ever had anything to do with are either flatlane fours or conventional six cylinders, all with equal exhaust collector pulse. Flatlane V8 sounds more like a tractor than a crossplane.

It's only so balanced because of the shit displacement

Wut

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Barra_engine#V8

I forgot those were only SOHC. My bad

Yeah that's nice, crossplane sounds like an ancient tractor.

>amongst the larger displacent of the comparison
Yep, totally checks out.

[citation needed]

Use your ears.

the boss are DOHC tho

the regular shoc ones where shit

Only thing I can hear is the sound of your bicycle going backwards.

Can't believe you're this triggered over something like so simple.

>psychological projection, the post

The irony

This

Did you get those in Roo Land?
