The fastest car is a Porsche

not street legal or production

Why does street legal production matter?

if you can afford these cars you can afford mods, and if you're enough of an enthusiast to buy these cars you'll buy the mods.

If you can't afford these cars but are still enough of a car geek to drive something like them, you can probably afford a lesser car and the mods to bring it to the level of these cars and possibly beyond.

Only a destitute busrider limited to blowing his life savings on borrowing a porsche for a week would care about what the production car has, instead of what might get in the way when you modify it (pesky electronics etc).

Because you don't need a fucking trailer and it doesn't fucking matter if you get pulled over
>inb4 don't stop
many people wrap their cars and run into the sides of SUV's and minivans I doubt you could ever out run the police.

911 gt2 rs is road legal and production.

not the fastest car

It matters because it defines the limitations that the engineers have to work with when designing and testing the car and its components, you fucking moron. That's also why restrictions and classes exist in races.

Otherwise they can build a "car" that has no safety features whatsoever to save additional weight, requires a special cranking sequence, doesn't have any fucking glass, an exhaust that spews pure poison, an engine that requires a rebuild every 5000 miles, etc.

It only matters for californians and even then that's for engine mods. Everywhere else you're let off for everything unless you ask insurance to pay for it, or you're at fault, speed was determined to be a factor, and you have an extra 200 horses.

I don't think the cops give a fuck if you have a five point harness instead of a three point

except it is.

The 911 has a shit chassis.

But that is not street legal

apparently no one cares
see fastest road car

the tesla is not street legal?

but it's a lotus with a few simple mods

Dauer made a street legal version.

That's a funny looking ferd?

the street legal version did no lap times anywhere.

>6:11.13

You could probably title that as a kit car actually

>BUT CANT I JUST BUY ONE? IS IT VOLUME PRODUCTION!??@!?!?
It doesn't matter. You can say "no fair" but who has the fastest car in the end? You, with your leased stock corvette that you'll have to trade in for a bus pass in a month, or the non-benchracer who drives something that's actually fast?
>BUT ITS NOT VOLUME PRODUCTION UNMODIFIED AND 100% STREET LEGAL IN SANFRANCISCO SO IT DOESNT COUNT
How about cletus with his leased camaro
>CANT BE SOLD IN EUROPE DOESNT COUNT
Ah, the cries of the loser. All of a sudden, nothing counts, and the win conditions get very specific so they can never lose.

Apart from winning le mans in 1995.

so it won le mans without using slicks? otherwise it wasn't street legal there either.

See

>fastest street legal production car ever with a V6

Ford didn't make the XJ 220.

they didnt

Now that's a cool V6 super car that used a V6 because the V12 couldn't meet emissions. we were cucked into the V6 with the GT.

I think question marks should result in an autobahn on Veeky Forums.

yes they did though

...

This. Porsche is the benchmark. Ferrari is magnificent obviously but Ford does not compete.
Thw GT40 and the GT are mostly British. That's why they were good.

it looks like moe from the simpsons more than the pig

Nope.

Sperg more.

it is faster than the production-spec zr1

>there will never be an XJ440 with a V12.
fucking hell jaguar.

Ftype will suffice

bump

>That's why they were good
i never understood this about british cars
they can make great race cars but cant make road cars for shit

>they can make great race cars
Ironically the only reasons the GT40s were even successful was because of Carroll Shelby, if they were left to the British alone they would've continued to fail. had Shelby took over sooner they would've had a bigger winning streak than just 4.

bump

.

umu

People actually think this.

By being lazy an just strapping a twin turbo to the engine. Literally easy mode.

>How did ford manage to make the fastest street legal production car ever with a V6?
nissan actually made the worlds fastest volume production car with a v6 first, and it still is
sorry ford

How did they also manage to take that and make it so ugly inside and out?
