I'm sure this is trying to be accurate to what the actual map is supposed to look like, but i feel like the gap between the southlands and south america is too big.

Tilt the Southlands counter clockwise about 20 degrees and move it farther East. It'll have to look something like that to make sense at all.

It's because all of the TWW2 landmasses are too big on that map relative to TWW1.

Why do the Empire and the Dwarves continue to use melee infantry? It seems like with their technology they could arm themselves like a nation from the 18th-19th century. Empire has steam power and dwarves have fucking helicopters.

CA were retarded and wasted time and resources on a minicampaign no one asked for. Though that didn't stop the Wood Elves from getting one of the most complete rosters in the game.

Thankfully they listened to us and have stopped with minicampaigns now. More lords and complete rosters are now in our future.

One of the devs in some of the early videos said that they needed to make entirely new animations because any of existing ones were not fitting Lizardman.

Beastmen released with a shitty roster missing core units. Including a missing jabbers. CA claim that making jabbers would cost the entire budget of making the art for Charlemagne so they didnt bother.

Now anything hard to make (jabbers, hellpit, hydra) are compared to their Charlemagne cost to call CA out on their bullshit.

Yes, after getting massacred by Best Elves and Lizardmen they need to bully some rats to regain their confidence.

I'm extremely worried that skaven will be like the other factions in that there is no real penalty to just making entire armies of elite units. Skaven is all about the hordes of shitty rats, I don't want entire armies of doomwheels, hellpit abominations, or rattling gunners.

You could either put a system like the one TT had, where you had to take a force of normal units as a base and then add elites and rares with no chance to spam them. Or you could put a hard cap on elite units like some older games did. Or you could remove the 20 unit limit and give stacking penalties if you have too many troops in the same province, with elites being more resource-heavy and thus harder to sustain if spammed. Or you could have a manpower system like in DeI so that you have a small pool for elites and other specialists, thus forcing you to rely on common units.

That model was too goofy even by the standards of when it came out. The new one is leagues better.

Is there a mod that makes ai army composition make more sense? I don't want the to be "better" per say, just more rational. Its weird when a standard north-man incursion is packed with a bunch of exotic monstrous units.

You want expanded building slots, the reason the AI gets shoehorned into garbage army comps is they don't have enough slots for multiple military buildings

Are the ai even constrained by their buildings? I thought they just willed their armies into existence whenever the game thought it appropriate.

They have money and public order cheats but they can still only recruit based on their buildings.

Lads are you excited for all the new races to have random bullshit events that cripple your economy and/or saddle you with battlefield penalties for ten turns and can stack on top of one another.

I experimented with something like that as well but concluded that you need at least six units of melee line infantry. Guns just aren't effective enough.

Actually the devs explained that their motion captures for the Lizardmen weren't "animalistic" enough so they had one of their staff feed a broom up his ass and motion captured him lurching around to get the effects they wanted.

Fimir were developed after Lizardmen - it's possible the Fimir use the same skeleton as a Lizardmen unit, if not the same animations too. Skinwolves are based on Strigoi skeleton, but with some new animations.
