Well first off, 40 AP isn't available at the start.
Second, you grind 40 AP until you get the CE in the shop. That's when you switch to 5 AP. Once you and one of your friends supports get the shop CE, you get ~8 dangos a 5 AP run. Which translates to ~64 AP by the time you run 5 AP 8 times.
Yup, boring as fuck. The shop isn't even filled with good shit.
