What if GM and Chrysler had not gotten bailed out?

What if GM and Chrysler had not gotten bailed out?

Then the GT would still be the fastest around VIR

Anything that wasn't an econ car or truck would have gotten shit canned in a attempt to stop the bleeding. But that wouldnt work because the perception is American Cars = shit

Chrysler would be the first to die off, because their cars are legit shit.

Chevy would then kill off the Cadillac, then the camaro, then the vette. If the bleeding didn't stop. They'd kill off either their trucks or their econ cars, which ever sold less.

No one could have afforded a 50k truck and noone buys a shitty american cars for economy. Thats what superior japanese econ cars are for.

If they managed to ride out the recession they would have to rebuild from the ground up.

Ask those roo-fuckers how their auto industry is coming along and you'll get a decent idea.

Ask them. Us is a fuk'd up country lol

>implying Ford didn't take any bailout money from the Feds.

Ford didn't take TARP money like GM and Chrysler, but they did get $5.9B in government loans from TALF program which was actually more than what Chrysler got from TARP.

Chances are another automotive company would've emerged.

As it is, GM actively attacks smaller companies. Look at the legal problems they've made Tesla battle.

As it is, it's extremely doubtful we'll see any other automotive companies in the US other than the big 3.

Tesla has a chance, but the financial situation for them isn't exactly shouting successful.

Mitsubishi actually just had one of the best years in recent times.

TARP invested 12.5 billion in Chrysler, user.

Not much of an investment, they lost about 1.2 billion on that deal.

God forbid we look at the 49 billion side of the deal involving GM.

Ford didn't need to bailout to continue. GM was done. Chrysler was done. Unable to stay afloat even if they were to liquidate any remaining assets. Ford had assets to liquidate to stay operating. Ford used the money to retool the facilities and build factories out of the country.

>I have no idea what I'm talking about

They would go defunct no doubt. All would be left is as a native American auto manufacture would be Ford.... and Tesla I guess.

>Tesla has a chance, but the financial situation for them isn't exactly shouting successful.
Is the financial situation for any other american automaker shouting successful?

Probably foreign companies would have jumped in and bought them out.

>Sophism, the post

Lancia might've died a peaceful death.

Hopefully someone would have bought them and made GM great again.

>gm and Chrysler die and part out their brands
>people have a chance to revive pontiac and olds and Hummer and unfuck dodge and jeep
>new era of diverse American manufacturing
>but nope
thanks obama

Chrysler would have still been bought out by fiat

This.

Fiat would have still bought them regardless

In some ways it’s not GMs fault imo. Jews giving housing loans to everyone caused the recession and when recession hits car sales die no matter how good they are.

>GM actively attacks smaller companies.
i have always loved chevy and GMC trucks
but GM needs to be fucking torpedoed for this kind of shot. god damn corporate hacks

>what is GMAC
GM is the Jew

And politicians to pussy to jail them.

>Make GM great again.

I dont think it was good, ever. They would rebadge everything. They got fat, lazy and complacent. I wish they would have died.

GM would have likely sold off most of its divisions and downsized into irrelevancy and eventual bankruptcy.

Chrysler would have filed for bankruptcy immediately and been bought by a foreign manufacturer. (Oops.)

Spoken like a true nocar who's never had to work on or drive a late 20th century GM shitbox.

the only reason i'm able to keep my saturn running is because they were, as a mostly independent subsidiary, able to evade the long dick of the GM kikes

>torpedoed
Pun intended?
