Whats a good 4x4 to get as a first car? As in I'm looking for cheap and reliable. Pic related seems appealing since I want to be able to go off-road but I don't see it praised all that much.

I'm in the UK if that helps.

Jimniys are great, get one OP

Tahoe

Shogun/montero/pajero whichever name you've got locally.

>GM faggots are really this retarded

Literally any of these will do
Plymouth Arrow
Dodge Raider
Isuzu Trooper
Mitsubishi Starion turbo
Mitsubishi Montero
Chevy Tracker
Nissan Patrol

>Mitsubishi Starion turbo
I replied

Jeep Cherokee (XJ) or 4runner

Vitara/escudo fuck yeah

SX4

Dacia Duster
MG ZS

Depends on what OP means by cheap I guess.

Jeep and Toyota hold their value so well that you're looking at a 200k rust bucket for 1-2 grand here.

2nding this

jimny is cheap af, budget 4x4 for sure

Jimnys are great fun and a lot more capable than most people realise.

People don't realise they're hugely capable? Like the whole reason they exist is because they were designed from the ground up for offroad capability in a micro package.

...

Yep, they will go places even landcruisers and nissan patrols wont get to

Get the Daihatsu Terios instead. It's hard to get a more reliable car (Toyota-made), and it's got center diff lock as standard (even on autos).

Lada niva

this but unironically

You're a fucking idiot.

...

remove front beams and bypass coupling and you have a fine rwd car

Nothing can survive being truck sandwich.

Jimmy seems like an excellent option, went to south spain where roads could be a bit rugged and I saw Jimnys everywhere. Is a cute

How common are niva parts around UK?

>offroading
>the UK
Literally all the countryside is owned or is protected. Finding places to really offroad here is shit.

I'm in the UK if this helps.

How cut off from the world are you in the US?

Unfortunately rather uncommon.
Ladas in the UK died out a long time ago.
Scare in Uk now.
Suitable alternative is a Jimny. Or a SWB Fourtrack.

I wish these were sold in the US

THIS

This is what you really want

>Have 2003 fullsize on new a/t tires
>Constantly getting stuck because it just keeps sinking into the ground
>Have to cut a wide path for it where ever I need to go because jungle
>Visibility is pretty bad even though I am taller than the average American man

>One day I take my Escudo instead because I had one of my guys moving some equipment in the truck
>I can see everything
>It doesn't sink
>Since we cleared a path for the truck I had fucking tons of room
>I left it in 2wd to see how far it would get and it got all the way to our clearing
>On Chinese road tires up front so old they feel like rocks and rear tires bald enough to show some canvas
>Even with less ground clearance I scrapped on less shit because the break over, approach and departure are a million times better than

The only few advantages to the full-size and the reason why I have it are
