I bought a lightly used car from a Chevy dealer.
The car was advertised as having the premium package which includes an audio system with the sub pictured above.
I just realized there is no sub and it's 700 dollars to replace.
Anything I can do?

copart, aftermarket, junkyard, buy sub for $40 install. Check to see if the amp is somehwere in the car first.
Go buy a cheap sub at walmart
It doesn't have the amp either.
The kits I saw online with the amp were around 1k.
Buy secondhand from any reputable brand off CL that's in good condition.
Have you tried contacting the dealership? They probably won't want to do shit, but if it was advertised as having one, and it didn't, I'd they're in the wrong legally.
Yeah, I emailed the guy since I don't have his number and they are 2 hours away.
I found the OEM sub/amp combo on ebay for 200 so if they don't have it then I'll get that. Definitely going to make them install it though.
Ha, serves you right for buying from a stealership. God forbid I was ever to buy from one, I will probably be asked to leave the lot after going over every car for 20 minutes, reaching under the seats and sticking my fingers into dirty holes under the hood. Real autist/junkie behaviour
You could buy an aftermarket sub at a car stereo store. It will likely come in its own box or tube, but it will cost you far less than $700 from the (((dealership))) OP
Used cars are "as is". It's no one's fault but yours for not checking everything. The dealer may work with you a little, they have a database and might find a used one.
For what it's worth an aftermarket sub will be better.
Just sounds like a try hard that has no intention of buying anything.
I actually went down into a puddle to peak under the car for any leaks and whatnot. The guy was annoyed, but I didn't see anything.
I only briefly checked the audio system with a radio channel that wasn't do anything bass heavy. My mistake.
The car is worth a MINIMUM of 36k and I got it for 29k. I let them throw on the extras for a better price and then I removed the extras the next day.
True. My friend has the same type of car but a year older and only an i4, yet his sound system is amazing. Supposed to have the same one. My phone speaker has better bass. sad
I'm replacing the speakers in my car, they're factory from 89, the rears are 6x9s, the fronts are 6x4's which is all I really know.
I see walmart is selling boss 6x9 speakers, will those do?
I see replies about amps, are they really necessary? I don't know anything about speakers. please halp
I don't know. I know the ohms matter unless you rewire everything and that's all I know. All I know is that my OEM sub comes with an amp attached to it but it sucks and to get a new amp I would need to rewire. I also know my speakers are 2 ohm which is apparently hard to find and I would need to rewire to get that working properly. I think. Idfk dude.
I hate dealing with electrical shit because I don't understand it/dangerous, and I hate dealing with interior trim because the little clips that hold them in break easily.
I solder shit to my raspberry pi and use main electrical for some things but this car audio stuff is beyond me. I'm excited to learn but unfortunately there are not a lot of good learning resources.
I'm thinking of taking a weekend job at an audio shop down the road to learn how to do it all.
same here, but I found out a nigger owned my car before so he stole it.
Heh. Good luck mate.
Thanks, I'll just electrocute myself if I don't get the job. would literally do it for minimum wage. total electronicsfag.
my carfax report didn't say so but I suspect it as well >:)
quit being a bitch
go find some mexican ran audio shop
they'll hook you up for 250 or less
Its just knowing your ohms. Google it.
Sub wires up to an amp, amp to the chassis and amp to rhe headunit presto.
As long as you know your amp has the right rms wattage to match your sub vice versa and right resistabces (ohms).
>You can steal your own property
If the amplifier is there, buy a sub that isnt 700 dollars.
Get a wiring diagram and find out what the wire colors on the plug are, then install an amp and sub that do not cost 700 dollars.
Install HO alternator, 0 gauge wiring, 10KW amp and dual sundown 15" subs
IS THAT A FUCKING FAKE SUB?
Pick up a decent JL/Rockford/Kenwood mono amp, and grab a Pioneer shallow mount 8/10/12 and some preferably 3/4" MDF, make a box, stuff the fucker in there, simple as that.
I highly doubt it. Likely some tiny little 7.1252362" inch thing good for 50w and tuned.
