Why are Infiniti cars (in general) so unpopular?

Why are Infiniti cars (in general) so unpopular?

They seem to make some pretty solid entry-level luxary cars to be honest.

I got sick of the G35 series after the first 5 years, and instead of updating the platform they just changed its headlights for the rest of its production run. 2002 - 2015 is a long time to sell the exact same car

Nissan / Infiniti are black people cars

That coupe is gorgeous. I think the problem is they're not competitive enough with the Germans on performance, and not competitive enough with Lexus and Acura on reliability. Acura and Genesis also noticeably undercut them on value.

I don't like the name. I think it has aged badly but that's just me. It makes me think of the ifad naming shit of the early 2000's. Lexus sounds like it has legacy behind it even though it doesn't.

As a G37 owner three major reasons that stick out interior design is kind of a mess, their sporty offerings come up short compared to the Germans, and the car configurator on their website looks like it's from 2005. The interiors are a lot better in the models they introduced in the last couple years but on my 2013 G37 it's pretty poor.

I'd expect the new Q30/Q50 to be really popular though, especially in the US. They're relatively good looking and are barely more expensive than something like a Ford/Mazda with options.

It's fucking massive in real life. Nothing expressively wrong with it since it's more of a grand tourer than anything but it's still car that weighs more than 4000lb with the big engine in it. That's 500lb more than the old G35 coupe was

meant qx30/qx50 obviously
their naming scheme is kind of dumb too

>luxary
Wow I'm retarded.
What's your opinion on your G37?
Going to buy a G37S on monday.

For people like you and me, yeah, the massive size and weight is a deal breaker, but it's pretty normal when you look at comparable German/Lexus coupes.

because they're shit

The new ones make huge power.

They don't have a marketing department like VAG has.

Hire the jews at VW that upmarketed the rebadged VW's as Audis and simply watch Infinity take off.

I fucking guarantee it.

You're looking at the 2.0t dork, those are slow as shit. 7 seconds tier

like nissan, their drivers seem to be niggers 99% of the time, who also don't understand that DRLs =! headlights and piss me off,

I had a q50 as a rental and it kinda felt cheap desu

The tiny turbos hold it back.

Not as nice as a Lexus, more expensive than a Toyota. They're in "just okay" limbo.

I think it’s because Lexus does everything Infiniti does better. Lexus has the performance luxury category locked down, and their cars are generally built to a higher quality

ive test driven a few. they're chink garbage and have zero brand status. they actually feel cheaper than cadillac cars, which nobody buys either

I was only saying how shit the website was retard

I have a AT sedan so I'm not sure how much is applicable to the coupe but overall I'm happy with it. I bought it new, put 120k miles on it so far and zero issues. Scheduled maintenance is really cheap since it's all Nissan parts. Brakes and wheels with the sport package are actually really good, but rear tires go quick if you drive it hard. Entertainment system and nav is really ugly imo but the speakers sound great and Bluetooth works so it's not a huge deal. It's definitely not the fastest car out there but it's more than quick enough and with the sport package handles pretty well. Fuel economy is average at best, really suffers from a lack of a turbo.

My homie got a new Q50, their very affordable and you get a good bang for your buck in performance(3.0 liter) and pretty nice interior too.

Obviously their is better luxury cars out their but their way more expensive and not really worth it. This is a good middle ground.

Also test rode in their new Q60 shit was cool, pulls very nicely

shill pls go. without the manual there's no reason to buy these shitboxes.

The manual meme really becomes a lot less appealing when you sit in traffic for an hour a day 5 days a week. I seriously wouldn't buy another car without radar cruise control because of how much of a godsend it is in traffic.

The G35 and G37 are the only fun ones. After that they got rid of the LSD and went full luxury barge suspension with improved interiors. The Gs were made to compete with the 3 series and now they don't even come in manual. The VQ37 mostly better to the VQ35 in all aspects other than sound however the G37 weighs a lot. Even the G35 weighs 3500lb but the G37 is pushing into V8 car zone of which many are much faster.

>unpopular
I see them everywhere in New York. They are the go to choice for people who want an entry level luxury sedan or SUV

What would you guys take between a Q50 and a Stinger or G70/80, whichever's the closer competitor?

I really like this new Infiniti. I don't know why everyone hates on it.

Infiniti are the audi of asia. acura and lexus are the superior oriental choice.

>acura

just lmao

soviets mom: what did you you saturday night sweetie?
soviet: i attempted to get revenge on prezo for giving me a mental complex, but he ended up making it worse :(

They aren't bad cars, but they just can't pull 50+ years of heritage and reputation out of their asses on the dot.

Also their initial debut ad campaign didn't even SHOW THE FUCKING CAR- instead it showed pictures of bamboo, and Japanese calligraphy and some guy saying some haikus which angered the very folks that may have given the brand a fair go back when it mattered the most.

Lexus played their debut right unlike Infiniti, do you remember Infiniti's initial ad campaign? It never showed the fucking cars, it was just a shot of some bamboo in the mist or a guy writing Japanese on a sheet of paper, but never the car. Lexus didn't hide their new cars in their initial commercials like a scared bitch. I say that's a major factor as of why Lexus is nominally considered as much of a luxury marque as Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi, et. al and Infiniti is this obscure sorta-luxury brand like Acura and Buick

he fell for it hahaha

I'd get the Genesis, Infiniti hasn't made a good looking big sedan since they stopped making the first-gen M45. The earlier G coupes look better than the newer ones which are looking more rounded and Eclipse-ish

Do you think the koreans have the design and build quality up to snuff yet? That's my main focus on the comparison. Either gamble on gooks or gamble on Renault.

because luxury japanese automobile makers like infiniti and lexus can be only be successful if they are reliable. Toyota is the only company thats more reliable than lexus while infiniti is less reliable than multiple german automakers.

but is an infinity reliable at all? Y/N?

I'd have to say yes. Hyundai went all out to debut the Genesis and it shows, they made a brand new V8 just for the Genesis (also Hyundai's first V8 ever) and the Genesis coupe out G37s the G37 in some ways. Korea isn't out of the woods in terms of build quality but they've really narrowed the design gap and leapfrogged over Acura in terms of aesthetics

Its hard to say. My sister rocks a 1994 Q45, the interior is thrashed but mechanically it runs like a top

I've always been a big fan of Nissan and Infiniti. Its like a taste of luxury for the working middle class like myself. You have the reliability of a Nissan in a poor man's BMW or Lexus interior. First car was a Maxima which I racked up 300k miles on it, and my second being an I35 which I got up to 250k. Both still run after heavy front and damage. Parts are dirt cheap out here in the Midwest, for older models at least, and like most other anons are saying, nig nogs fucking love em. You can buy I35s for 500 bucks that need an outer tie rod and an alternator, turn around, sell it to some nog who shows up to yours house on his bike high as all hell with 2500 cash in hand. Rinse and Repeat. I've owned 1 I30, 4 I35s, and 2 QX4s so far in the past 2 years. Honestly have nothing bad to say about them. It's all good, comfy fun. Can't really speak for anything past 2005 unfortunately. They look neat tho.

they've all got this chubby cheeks face that I can't get past

OBSESSED

still better than lexus predator grille

>They seem to make some pretty solid entry-level luxary cars to be honest
Because they aren't German or Lexus.

Generic styling and stupid/confusing names.

Their best engine is a turbo v6

I know only one person that wants a Intifiti, G35 to be precise. and it's a lesbian (she also likes old subarus)

>Intifiti
Well that was a weird typo

Nissans and Infinitis are for niggers

I was a big Nissan fan when I was younger because I had a 1986 Hardbody that just refused to die and could take monumental abuse.
Then I realized all of their newer cars, roughly from 1997 on, were garbage.
Today I would rank them in the bottom 7 manufacturers just above Mitsubishi and Chrysler.

Basically this

Where did the "nigs drive Nissan/Infiniti" thing come from?
In all the states I've lived in, most of the poor ones drive old Hondas or american brands like Mercury and Oldsmobile. The ones with more money almost always drive Challengers, Cadillacs, and Chargers.

From what I understand Nissan offers crazy long finance terms on new cars making it attractive for financially illiterate basketball-americans to get a new car.

>Nissan offers crazy long finance terms on new cars making it attractive for financially illiterate basketball-americans to get a new car
Dodge offers the same thing. That's why so many nigs drive Challengers or LX Chargers.

This.
Pearls before swine.
I own an FX37 and love it. Lexus = old people marque.

Infinite makes good cars but they are at the bottom in terms of luxury and near the top in quality. Too bad it's just a dolled up Nissan and not something that can stand it's own.

I have a 2016 Q 50 redsport my wife drives a 2016 QX 80. they are really good cars it's just an nicer Nissan. I just sold my 2004 Armada I put 200,000 miles on that never had any problems. I abused the piss out of the Armada towing dirt bike trailers jet skis all kinds of crap that thing was bulletproof . the infinity's so far have been awesome and you can get a huge discount buying them a year old on the open market. I saved about $20,000 per car buying them used my Q 50 readsport only had 2600 miles on it

>superior choice
>fake flashy exhaust

>oh never mind, it's a black person

when will you ebbin idiots get through your thick skulls that audi is neither premium nor luxury

you don't put vw's among mercedes so why do you put rebadged vw's among Mercedes?

why?

altima usually means a slow mexican lady is driving it in California

>Their best engine is a turbo v6

so is ford's!
