This general is for the discussion of Escape from Tarkov, a Russian-made first person survival shooter and gun porn simulator currently in closed beta.
>thread died before 200 posts Will we ever reach 750 posts?
Mason Long
Before release I doubt it. I want to say it's a great game, and when it works it is, but in its' current state I'm not sure I can say it deserves a huge following.

>version 0.2.82 We're still on 0.2.69, so I'm assuming that hideout option still won't be in for a while, but I don't really know how these things work.
Lucas Harris
>version 0.2.82 Ayo nice find. I wonder what's in this version. Hopefully the fucking weapons they haven't put in yet.
Jaxon Davis
New weapons would be sweet. Seems like we might be getting a couple more with the gamescom update. I really hope they fix the sound though.
Jack Foster
Get ready for dem profile wipes my dudes, get that good gear out.
Caleb Russell
>profile wipes THIS early Please, no. I just reached Level 3 on all my vendors. I'm approaching max level soon.
Adam Ramirez
Any time they add major content (weapons, maps) they do a wipe. Prepare yourselves.
Owen Price
>tfw been taking good gear out the last few days and gained more gear than I lost >started playing over aggressively yesterday to lose gear but still above 2 mil rubles and 25k USD at the moment I'm trying. If I keep sprinting all over the map looking for players and beelining toward gunfire I might be able to drain my stash by the time the wipe comes, assuming there'll actually be a wipe.
Cameron Clark
Nah man save it then insure all your shit and throw it down the day before wipe
Josiah Thompson
>duck into room to search a vest >Nobody was around to see me duck in >as soon as I leave the room I get domed through some naughy door angle
Well this guy was for sure using ESP hacks
Aiden Phillips
Will they announce it a few hours prior to the wipe, so players can deck themselves out in gear and go wild?
Jackson Flores
I know that works for profile resets/upgrades, but does it actually work for wipes? I'll give it a shot either way since there's no way I'm burning through all this shit in the next week.
>((((gaming))))journalist head over to tarkov booth >experience true russian lag and desync >get one shot out of nowhere >WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS GAME REE IS LITERALLY BROKEN DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
can't wait
Carson Clark
>gaming journalists Doesn't matter. Anyone who listens to gaming journalists these days isn't gonna like hardcore shooters anyway.
Gavin Martin
Fucking rain go away. I need to get rid of these god damn SKSs.
Xavier Morgan
10x50 is the max size you can upgrade it to with in-game currency/quests. The EOD stash is 10x60.
Grayson Anderson
>guy throws grenade at me >Stand up and start sprinting >character stops sprinting immediately after starting for no god damn reason >die to the grenade Fuck you too, game.
Gavin Davis
grenades are shrapnel rng based
either you put your face next to it and live or you run 50 feet away and get head shot by a grenade
Justin Parker
I just wish the stash had some sort of amazing autosort that grouped items together and also collapsed stackables into eachother or at least that the designation for different bullet kinds was more clear on the thumbnail
Gabriel Stewart
> be scav in factory > get great loot > get to extraction > one door to go > dickhead just waiting with full tact gear and 60 round ak mag
Extraction campers need to be gassed.
Jaxon Foster
i got your back senpai
Jayden King
Always bring a nade.
Daniel Stewart
Shit, didn't see the scav part.
Logan Hernandez
There was a concrete wall right by me that I would have been able to sprint behind.
Jackson Barnes
Another issue is that for the non factory key extraction in factory, you have to stand in the middle of the doorway to open it up. If someone is watching they can just blast you through the door as it swings open since you'll be stuck in a spot.
Joshua Hill
You must hear this a million times a thread and I apologize but this game looks absolutely wonderful, I love the idea of the deep customisation system, however, I am told that on death you simply lose everything, meaning that nothing is permanent so instead of gradually customising my perfect gunfu I'm just going to be using anything I can find each time I die, is that accurate?
Jonathan Turner
Think we'll ever get /eftg/ artwork/memes at some point?
Lucas Gray
yea you lose everything on you unless it was in your small secure container which is only big enough for pistols or smaller objects or you had it insured. Even then insurance just means if no one picks it up you can reclaim it back but if someone loots it from you the insurance fails. It costs like 2 or 5% of the total price of the item to insure something depend on who you choose to insure with. Its usually worth it as getting even one decent weapon back is usually enough money to cover the insurance for like the next 10 runs because its not very expensive.
Caleb Reyes

The casuals are already playing and making demands to make the game easier and with more crutches. Getting game journalists to demand a more gamey game to broaden its appeal won't be hard.
Henry Wood
Until you git gud yep. But you can level up your character's stats & the traders you interact with, so it gets easier & easier to recover from losses.
Gabriel Lewis
Nice shot, guy was a shitter for sprinting up there
Camden Hernandez
The fucking forum posts where people complain about "having to do axe runs" is mind boggling.
Bentley Ross
I hate the ones who say: "what if i run out of money because of aimbot scavs?"
Liam Brooks
how can they possibly run out of money? are they ACTUALLY that bad at videogames?
Joshua Johnson
Gotta have some braindeads to be targets and or loot goblins for the rest of us.
Nathan Cooper
yeah but come on the game is quite generous with the start it gives you + the scavenger mechanic there's no reason why you should be unable to have a gun at any point i have done axe runs to just run at a place to try and get an item and then even accidentally kill someone and get some stuff too like what are these people doing that they lose all their money + weapons and cant even scav right
John Edwards
I like "The Predator" An AK-74N with 4 Holosun lasers and a bravo sight on it.
Jacob Peterson
please show it
Aaron Martinez
I remember when I first started playing when they invited everyone. I was such a pleb that I lost 150k of my 200k starting money on my first day. Just bought a ton of makarovs and kept doing factory runs until I got better and just made profits.
>mfw leveling traders for the first time Just did skier and that shit made me rock hard. Being able to buy pistol grips and sights for all my 153's on demand
feels good man
Liam Ramirez
i played like a huge fucking pussy and never went under 200k im at 800k right now and im just afraid of spending money but i still have plenty of guns and stuff so i HONESTLY don't understand
James Turner
I would, but I gave it to a friend, sorry user. I might make another one though
Mason Ross
so why do I want subsonic? For when I want to use a silencer and make sure they don't hear my bullets going past their heads when I miss?
Adrian Hernandez
>didn't feel like waiting for a reply >remember mah boi hikok
i wish i lived in a real country that let you have guns
Jonathan Torres
buy a plane ticket my guy
William Cooper
maybe later, after the race wars
Jonathan Green
This game really interests me, I love the gun customization. I just really hate the idea of dying to bugs and losing shit.
Any guesses on when this game will be decent?
Gavin Cruz
Just play with a friend who can save your gear if you die, and then get gud. I've only once died to a glitch.
Cooper Foster
check back tomorrow
Tarkovs panel at gamescon is tomorrow. Maybe they will address the server memes and announce a nu sale.
Cooper Cook
also I wouldn't worry about losing your gear to even bugs.
You can buy a makarov for 4k and head shot a guy with helmets and fortress armor in one shot who spent like 40k in gear. You can die like 4 times straight and on the 5th run pick up a shitty pump shotgun from some AI scav and make money back to pay for your 4 failed runs. Like its really easy to make a profit once you get the feel for the game and know when to cash out instead of trying to loot more. It's basically just FPS Poker.
You gotta know when to hold em and when to fold em.
Ryder Wood
Yes, they are. And instead of getting good they'd rather make devs make the game easier and more "accessable" more "balanced", whatever. They can't deal with it so they make devs add crutches for them.
Ryder Ramirez
>20k for night vision, nice >mfw its 200k

This
As soon as I got the hang of the game, I started to get better and better gear and money with each run. When I made enough to start bringing out AKs on every run, I started earning money 200% faster. Going totally broke in this game is impossible unless you've never played video games before
