Maenad Edition

Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.
The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.
It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.
Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

Is Ghost King ever worth it as a pretender chassis? Free ghosts sounds nice, especially early, but liches seem overall much better.

Immortality is a meme though. Ghost King is better than a Lich as a rainbow for Ermor/Lemuria.

Nerf RoS

Okay, this one has already been spoiled in the previous thread, but i'll post the logs anyway.

This was the biggest battle of this game so far, which is not really saying much because every prior war was more of a swift earlygame stomp than a proper war.

A few blade winds have been thrown by Agartha, but almost all of the work has been done by Magma Children and the Great Olms.

Lanka, which has gone AI this turn (Rip in peace), is also making progress, retaking 2 provinces from Mictlan this turn.

Fomoria and Pangaea continue cleaning up whats left of Bery, with its last few forts either under siege or already taken.

Ulm has stopped eating Lanka's backside for now, while yours truly is pondering over what the fuck to do with all of those AI neighbors.

I'm sieging a cap that has enough vampires inside to trigger gem spending when they try to break siege with them. I'll need my Army of X etc. for storming the castle, is there any way to ensure my mages will have enough gems in the storming battle after the break siege battle on the same turn?

The ability to know what's going on with such accuracy is pretty much exclusive to Ur, especially in EA, thanks to the recruit-anywhere scouts.

So the next time you are in a game with Ur, ask yourself: why doesnt he do the same?

Won't the duplicate casters just blow their gems on random shit? Also arranging would be troublesome.

Can't into Undead Mastery or Master Enslave, not enough mages to make a dent with single target control.

Just unscript it and turn on conserve gems? Or move the gems to a noncaster? Or have more gems on a scout?

The problem is that there's two battles in a single turn. One for break siege, another for storm castle.

You don't get nearly enough ghosts to warrant taking him.
Immortality is worth more because it's something that's actually useful as opposed to ghost king which has nothing useful

Again this was a kind of test game to see if rushing conj 5 for water elementals was really good for underwater wars, prod 3 to see how well meteorite guards do in actual combat my tests suggest that with water elementals they can take on bless rushes, and no evos only buffs to see how much better the army preformed.

If something deals, say, triple damage against demons, is the tripling applied to the base damage, the rolled damage, or damage after prot?

So when can the smerv player get back his nation and do the turn for us all?

Also was going to use a few sorceresses with astral caps to spam baleful star on forts I didn't like to increase unrest and shut down production.
Was going to get stygian rains because my troops do magic damage and can ignore invulerability as well as shadow blast (used with skull staff+communion) if I felt I needed more blasting.

For thugs yes. The swallowed unit takes a bunch of acid damage every turn until the unit that swallowed them is dead, or the unit itself is. Some monsters like the Ancient Presence even regain HP according to the damage the swallowed unit receives.

I think it's (Base + Strength+ DRN) x 3, but I may be wrong.

What are the major differences between dominions 3 and 4?

As far as I know SCs are the toppest tier shit in Dom 3 while in Dom 4 proper mage support is the strongest.
