His selection of spells is great, and we haven't seen much high magic yet. But he really has to deliver on his unique stuff to make him viable. Else he's just gonna be Gelt 2.0 till the end of the game.

Greenskins and Empire don't have any truly unique mechanics and the Dwarf mechanics are too little to matter.

Dwarfs and Humans need it the most, the book of grudges is laughable and the tech tree the dwarfs have means jack shit anymore. Same with the Empire and they got their offices eclipsed by the wood elf ones.

Empire and greenskins, yeah. Their supposed unique mechanics aren't even unique anymore (WEs got offices and beastmen got fightiness) and are way too simple/irrelevant/annoying. Dwarves too, the book of grudges is still unique, but it's more of an annoyance than anything.

Every faction needs something unique imho. Based on that:

-Bretonnia have Chivalry, Peasant Economy and Green Knight
-Wood Elves have the Amber system
-Beastmen have Moon events
-Chaos Warriors can awaken tribes and suffer attrition from having marauders too close to each other
-Vampires can Raise the Dead and have Vampiric Corruption
-Norsca has monster hunts and god devotion
-Dwarfs have grudges

Really only leaves Empire and greenskins without unique stuff.

Anyone having trouble after the latest update? I can play with mods disabled but I can't start a new game or load previous ones with them enabled.

There are quite a few batsmen there too, an I feel like they'll end up bothering the lizardmen a lot more since as a horde factiin they have much less reason to risk investigating ruins. There are dwarfs too, who could theoretically help the lizards deal with the chaos mutant scum, but we all know how trusting dwarfs works out.

I bet skaven win the southlandsbowl more often than not, absent a player intervention.

High elves are (or were rather) entirely dependant on magic to do any damage on the tabletop. You better hope that firestorm succeeds or the dwarf player will just sit his Ironbreakers in front of his canon and kill your whole army while your shitty units can't do fuck.
