I wrote this shit off after the intro to the first episode. it was boring and went on way to long. that made it clear that there was no 'dumb idea' gay. i.e. there was no guy to say 'that's a dumb idea'. didn't even bother watching the rest of the season.

Top Gear was better when they didn't have any money.

Much like the first user I quoted I went into the first episode of that hoping it would be like the good old days of Top Gear where it was a proper car show. But NOPE.

Is it fair to say that Roadkill is going down the same path?

It's a lot better than the first season but still nowhere as good as TG was up until season 16 or 17.

Roadkill quality wise is still as good as it used to be but now you have to subscribe to the gay online thing first

Honestly their last season at BBC was so obviously scripted and ridiculous I didn't even bother watching any Amazon episodes.

If you go back to the beginning of the Clarkson/May Top Gear (before Hammond was even on the show) it is like a night and day difference in how informative and neutral their reviews are. Sure, Clarkson has his very strong opinion as always, but it affects his overall view of the cars he's in a lot less than it does now. If something is made in America he just spergs out about how shit it is, but 10+ years ago the fucker owned a Ford GT (granted he modified it so it became a piece of shit apparently).

It's always been an entertainment show, it's always been scripted, it just wasn't as painfully obvious as it is now. The gags are over the top and ruin the more serious segments of the show in my opinion. It's like they just don't give a shit about keeping up the illusion of it being a semi-serious car review show anymore and just want to market the show to normies.

Is that why American TV goes on for 5 more seasons than it should?

I mean you don't HAVE to, they release the shows on youtube a month after so you still get to see everything. Agree that they have kept the quality up, even if there was a dip for a few episodes

With the exception of certain stupid shit like Dr. Who, this is literally the opposite of what british TV does.

British tv is usually 2 seasons of 8 episodes mate. It's always been their thing.
