I lost there, but generally you make use of a choke point and defensive advantages (barricades/ledges that provide good firing lines for ranged units) and get the enemy to form up into a single area where you are then able to deal with them. In that battle the enemy had a single horse archer unit left and my archers were out of ammo and had actually been forced into melee to rout off the enemy spears, so I lost

although I don't agree, playing on large has some merit in tww since magic damage doesn't scale with unit size iirc.
