Friday night and im doing nothing with nobody.

Had stuff planned like everyday this week with different friends and they all got cancelled last minute. Maybe I'm the problem. At least watching the shipping tracking on my parts coming in makes it feel just a little bit like Christmas.

text friends and ask if they want to get pizza

>friends

What i really want to do is wrench on my shit but i don't have the parts or space to do it currently.
I suppose i could rebuild my Thermoquad.

This happens so often. Friends just ditch going out in favour of sitting in doing fuck all
I’ve been out in a pub that’s been converted from a church to watch the rugby.

Maybe try text some people for a drink, or go to a local bar with a good mood and try to talk to some people.
I want to as well. However my classic in 25 minutes away on the families farm. I miss her smell. 2 days away is too much!

Just for you.

same, this is why I blew 100 bucks on VNs this xmas, for this night and every other night.

List, please. This is my coping mechanism as well.

For the first time in ages, though, I'm talking to a breathing female that has an interest in me and it's so strange. She's a few states away, though, so it still presents problems.

fug
now my fucking windows 10 is making all these tapping sounds when i press keys because my hand was sat on a key but i don't know what i activated reeeee

If this is gonna be feels general
>have sweet gf
>lust after woman with phat fuckin ass at the grocery store and 20-something shortstack in business clothes at panda express
Why do I do this

I've gone to bars before and just chatted people up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I actually have friends but I really don't even care about hanging with the majority of them. I prefer to be alone these days. I enjoy wrenching with a few of my buddies though.

>in too much pain to go anywhere
>fiance won't put out, don't know what her problem is
>just end me

I hear you.
>Lust after buxom women uncontrollably and do stupid things that get me hurt as a result.
>Have loli-build girl interested in me who wants to restore my Packard as a project together; says it's one of her favorite cars I own.

God hates me. This is because I became a minister to save on parking fees, isn't it?

As a male in the twenty-first century, you're going to have to reconcile the fact that you will want to fuck every woman in sight. It's okay. Just recognize it for what it is and don't act on it.

>minister to save on parking fees
I need to hear this story

>God hates me. This is because I became a minister to save on parking fees, isn't it?
Inb4 Dudeism

fucking bastard chrome autofill didn't autofill

I went to a private college in Wisconsin awhile back. They did religious education and had a set of reserved parking spaces that said "Clergy Parking Only." They were always vacant. Student parking was $125.00 a semester. I asked myself, "What would Jesus do?" Seeing as he used to be Jewish, the solution was to become ordained as a minister online for $20.00 and park in the clergy section for the year I attended school. The tag still hangs from the rearview mirror of my Bill Blass Lincoln because it matches in color.

If it makes you feel better I just dropped 130$ on food and drinks with a friend. I picked up my AR From the gunstore and he let me keep it at his house till I take it home, so I paid him in alcohol. Wish I could've just stayedhome playing Witcher 3

I too was playing Witcher 3 until Monster Hunter World released and then i realized i was neglecting my Elite Dangerous profile.

I just bought the witcher 3 and never played the originals. 79 camaro guy btw forgot my name. Pretty fuckin drunk tee bee haitch

To keep it related, luxury Nippon how hard is a re gear and a posi install? Should I pay someone to cuck me and work on my car? Or is it something I can do? Any special tools needed?

Holy fuck this thread got depressing.

Anyways, if anyone is in the area; there is a car show/seafood festival tomorrow in Pensacola Fl.

Cutlass breh, I'd like to hear the specifics of your $960 350 olds build. Would be a really great way for me to gauge the realistic-ness of what I want to do. 250-300 horses would be nice, wouldn't want to go for any more and sacrifice street manners. My lincoln is slow but it runs and drives like butter. I guess my ideal daily is something that behaves like a cruiser but can get up and go if I want. Probably put aside $800 or so for aftermarket TBI w/ ecu.

>picked up my AR from the gunstore
getting your guns before the gubbmint pulls an australia on us and decides we're not responsible enough to own them, I see

Bro, send that shit to a reputable gear shop. Dont even think twice. Its not points off your man card to send out axle or transmission work. You'll pay more money in one-time use special tools than you will in labor.

I'm sure once you do a few of them, it's not so bad. But its tedious and the first one is a pain in the ass. I'm not even dealing with crush sleeves either.

Akkkkkshuly

The gubmint can do whatever they want. Ban the AR for all I care. I got an AK anyways lmao but yea come and take it semper fi... a marine and his rifle...and all that jazz. I actually bought a .22 caliber AR just for shits and gigs and cheap plinking. Either way my car gun is a lever action 12 gauge to go with the camaro and the leather jacket.
Drac give that little loli a chance trust my brother you won't regret it. I'm abstinent right now and it's killing me not being able to fug my munchkin

Hows the .22lr situation in the US nowadays? I remember shortages and price hikes 3 or so years back, I'm not really in the loop anymore.

pretty soon the typos will start and we'll have lost him to the bottom of the glass.

My local gun store has over 1000 rounds of .22lr for dirt cheap so I'm not worried

Not while I got autocorrect! I'm watching 2fast 2 furious bout to see the Yanko Camaro here in a sec
Nippon bro will do. I got a local shop called Dave Wert Auto that's well known for hot rods and shit

Better, most stores still limit how much you can buy but they usually have a few different manufacturers in stock.

From my cold dead hands

is that you my dude?

kek. My only firearm is a black powder rifle. Been wanting a .38 revolver so I can pretend I'm an old detective

That's a beautiful revolver. Very Perfect Dark looking for some reason.

Never seen him, do you have a picture of him? It's just some patio furniture at my sister's house. Very comfy.

youtube.com/watch?v=Aonx9icCbVA
he's in this video a lot.

I have a Colt Detective Special.
Arguably the best handgun i own.

I love my AR but this is the crown jewel of my gun collection. It served in WWII (produced in July of 1943) and Korea, and bears lots of scars from both wars. Barrel is dated for 1953, when it was changed out, and it too is worn out. So the rifle was fired so many times that it's ready for barrel number 3.

Dumping some olds pics for marginal on-topicness. Don't even own one yet, lol.

Not sure if I ever will own one, either. But getting used to the idea. Still hard to stomach selling my other cars.

>owo whats this

>forgets image

Might hit the sack soon. Barely last until 10 these days. Some wild fridays, huh.

A guy I work with has a fucking clean g-body cutlass in his garage with a blown engine. I'll get pics next time I'm over.

Parting thread contribution for mellow friday night.

Am I just terrible at video games now or does every game require you to watch videos and read tutorials on how to set up your character? I got fairly into Witcher 3 then I got stuck in this boss battle that's impossible to win, and I keep respawning when I die, meaning my save is basically broken

Do it. The g-body for sale near me with running 307 is available for "just" 4500 though, not terrible considering the paint and interior are mint (pic related). And those are more expensive to do than the motor

I love my .38

>tfw just realized I forgot the subject line of the thread

It's, apparently, /k/ edition.

Tempted to buy this right now it's claiming 2.5lb weight 4inches long and 700 ft lbs of breakaway on a 3/8 in hose and 90 psi. Coupon makes it 80 dollars. Should I do it?

>smith
Enjoy ur low capacity magazine

Thats a clipazine, stupid.

>doesn't have extendos.

Got me an Ar lower today to spite 'ol governor kasich. It's just a cheapo anderson lower but It works for what I need.
Love the m1's I've got 2 and they're fun as hell, sometime get an M1A or an M1 carbine to add to your m1 collection, you won't be disappoint. Pic related is my M1A

Hey cutlass, you've done lots of works on pontiacs and I was curious on how tight the bolts need to be that attach the crank pulley to the harmonic balancer.

>Sad middle of Friday night alone bump

Happy lonely driver night user

I've always been curious to enter the world of .308. I think my next purchase going to be a G3 though.

>as tight as the impact will get it
>pic related

>new crank pulley

My guy are u supercharhing that trans am?

They're hex key
Nope it's for my power steering and alternator

Hex key what the fuck really? Mine got the impact treatment. I had to throw on a new crankshaft pulley with the slot and key for the supercharger pulley when I did mine. Now I got 2 V belts on the main crank (with an extra groove for my non existent A.C. v belt) and then the supercharger pulley which is like a multi ribbed serpentine looking belt.

The kit I got came with hex keys (pic related)

Hex key as in the bolt itself takes an allen socket?

It's beautiful but fuck that shit. I Remember one of those style kits was at a hot rod shop I used to deliver to and the shop owner was about ready to pull his fucking hair out over the non standard hardware non standard belt sizes and angles of shit. Needed specific alternator and shit too. The owner of the car didn't keep any paperwork either so the mechanics had no way of tracking down part numbers for what they needed. I basically took one of every v belt in stock and hex bolt and washer threw it in a bag then went to the shop and they picked and chose and tried them all to see what actually fit then I radioed back to the store and had them print an invoice for the parts actually used and then re shelved everything else ans drove back with the invoice to bill them. Fuckin took all day.

Success

That's nutty, I can never keep hex/allen keys from stripping out. Especially on old machinery, tried acetone/atf, nothing will break those fuckers loose and the allen wrench just spins in the socket. If I were you I would just buy grade 8 bolts from tractor supply and throw the hex crap into the parts bin

So hex cap bolts, huh? That sounds really fucking stupid for a crank bolt. I'm with you. Toss it and throw a standard head bolt on it. Impact it on and be done.

Battery failed me. Had to start her using the crank handle.

Pain in the arse. New battery purchased already.

There's a running L28 for sale for $250 on Denton's craigslist. Sent the guy a message but that seems too good to be true

sorry for delay too

So like always, im a retard and didnt completely research things. I thought a 2bbl conversion just required a carb and intake. Didnt think i needed a new exhaust manifold and linkages. So would swapping to a 2bl be worth the effort? Or would a bigger 1bl be acceptable?

Also, i tried going to that car show on orange beach.

>supposedly to enter you had to get there a 9am, events times were 10-4
>people everywhere
>traffic was fucking terrible. Toll, 3 lanes into 1, no traffic direction
>old fuckers everywhere
>no seafood!!!! Its a seafood festivle!

Oh, and traffic+incline+heat+pissed off driver+manual does not do a /6 good.

I remember telling you what you needed.
Super six exhaust logs aren't easy to find anymore and you may end up buying a cracked one.

My recommendation is to get a set of headers and:

holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/sniper_efi/sniper_2300_2bbl_master_kits_with_fuel_system/

If you're hellbent on keeping that engine you might as well polish it as much as you can.

>implying he can afford that

oh whale.

He’s dumb and a enlisted man so who knows maybe he’ll surprise us even more with his money “””””””””””“smarts”””””””””””

>spending money on vns

please tell me you didnt give money to sekai

t. /vn/

He doesn't listen to us anyway.

What 2bbl conversion are you doing? The one from late model Aspens/Volares?

In that case the factory exhaust manifold will still work with it. The only question is whether yours is still good. If not, There's new ones on ebay, like here: ebay.com/itm/Exhaust-Manifold-198-225-6-SLANT-6cyl-Dodge-Chrysler-Plymouth-Pickup-Van-Car-/112787712391?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

And here's some good gaskets. They're thick, and they crush, so they can take a more uneven surface. amazon.com/gp/product/B00C5T8YMA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2HMFJ4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also note on BBD carb, the choke setup is slightly different between the V-8 and /6 versions.

i recommend blocking off the egr

>slantsix.org/articles/supersix/article.htm
You don't need a new exhaust manifold if you're using the stock 2bbl manifold. You don't need a kickdown linkage for a manual tranny either, so you're good. This is about as easy as it gets for intake swaps. Don't pay more than $150 for everything, I got the manifold for $100 from FABO and the carb for $35.

>would a bigger 1bbl be acceptable
No. They are universally garbage

Well guys i did it. Got a new toy
89$ at HF 1/2 drive impact gun weighs 2.5lbs and is 4 inches long. Perfect for my weekend warrior needs

I wouldn't recommend blocking off the EGR at all, it's very useful to have a heated intake for daily driving. Unless you have a race car, it's way better to have manifold heat for fuel atomization, which is why every 6cyl came with it.

Headers for /6 are also too expensive, rust out in 5 years, and are just more trouble than they're worth, Dutra duals are the way to go. Pic related, cut the stock log in half and use the Dutra manifold on the front 3 cylinders, the exhaust pulses alternate between the front and back 3, so you get twice as much separation time. That's the main benefit.

If you have to use headers, don't block off the EGR plate, get a coolant heating plate from Raso Enterprises, bolts to the bottom of the intake and you hook it up by teeing off the heater hoses.

>I wouldn't recommend blocking off the EGR at all, it's very useful to have a heated intake for daily driving
The EGR doesn't have anything to do with the exhaust manifold base. The EGR cools the intake charge also.
The EGR isn't necessary for anything but emissions regulations but removing it can cause pinging on a worn out engine.

>The EGR doesn't have anything to do with the exhaust manifold base.
Or rather, the heated base that meets with the intake manifold.

What are you referring to? Sorry, I thought you were talking about the manifold heat setup, which is referred to by a lot of different names (and I never know which one).

The valve at right, in the exhaust manifold, heats the plate on the underside of the intake manifold. People often want to remove this valve or weld it shut in one orientation, for reasons beyond me.

>for reasons beyond me.
Because just like the EGR valve it can get stuck in one spot and become a giant headache when you need it most.

EGR was only introduced on 1972+ models. It is the bottom circle.

What's it do if stuck? My car is a 71 but it had a 2bbl manifold from a 78 Aspen when I got it.

>What's it do if stuck?
It has a net increase in running like shit.
Just slightly shittier then before. Try taking it off, i bet yours is clogged just like mine was.

Let me know how it works, I'm curious. Harbor Freight seems to be doing better in quality these days. Their pneumatic and electric tools 5 years ago were garbage but I'm wondering if they got better too.

I still recommend Milwaukee for electric tools, if you're going to get them.

If I'm looking at that photo right, I won't even have to separate the manifolds, right?

Met up with a group of people who drive older cars today. It was refreshing to see.

>because it can get stuck
So you should just purposefully make it stuck? I don't think it's an excuse to de-engineer your engine. If it breaks it will just run like shit like you said, until you fix it, but if you block it off it will just run like shit all the time. Induction with the stock manifold is already so awful, with fuel pooling at the bottom of the manifold and less heat for vaporization, the bogging is terrible. Talking about manifold heat here, not EGR, haven't had a post-'72 motor.

rasoenterprises.com/engine-technology/40-carburetion/20-intake-manifold-heat?showall=&start=3

No, you can just flip the plate upside down but you'll need a gasket or high temp RTV or something.

>So you should just purposefully make it stuck?
If it sticks closed you'll never get carb heat, if it sticks open, worst case scenario you always have carb heat.

>tfw no 409 swapped '59 Chevy.

i can hear the Beach Boys now..

>always have carb heat
the exhaust will flow more turbulently but it's not going to brick anything, just run like shit. Never having carb heat, it will also run like shit

Mine came with all the hardware and is pretty close to stock with belts, I found it easier to get this kit than to track down the brackets for a stock setup since nothing from my 403 really would fit.
I'm gonna toss those hex keys then, probably go the the hardware store and get some grade 8's. I only have an impact drill so I'll try my best anyway, should I use thread locker on those?

That's what i'm saying.
There are a lot of design details that conspire against the poor old slant six.
Fuel Injection imo is one of the best upgrades possible.
