Given this is an anniversary thread, why don't we talk about our experiences with the franchise and our expectations for the future?

Like most others, I started with the anime, about a year and a half ago. I already knew it beforehand thanks to its popularity, but I had been putting away watching it. Even as a huge moefag, it seemed mediocre at best, but the episodes felt short and the songs were catchy, so I continued watching. Finish the movie, still not impressed, but decide to try out the game. It turns out to be pretty addicting, and as a former gacha player I was already used to energy efficiency and the likes. Still shit at rhythm games though, so it takes a while until I can play EX songs comfortably. I start to get introduced to the subunits, singles, and so on, finding it a bit confusing at the start because I had no prior idea of how the idol industry worked. Keep playing but forget about it for a while, until I came across a video featuring the seiyuus, I think it was on /a/. They're amusing and there's subbed content online, neat. Next thing I know is that I watched all the lives one after another. They were refreshing and filled me with energy. "Fuck this, I guess I'm and idolfag, now". Grow attached to the characters, so I keep consuming all the media I can get my hands into, shitloads of them, and until now. I still think it's a pretty average franchise, but for some reason I can't let it go. I still find sad I didn't get to join the train before Muse disbandment, and can't get myself to care for Aqours nearly as much, even if I wish them to succeed. Luckily, they will. If not, I won't really care. So I don't really have any expectations for the future of this franchise, as I already know Muse is dead and buried by now. But releasing that third solo box wouldn't be a bad start. If they end up doing a third gen I may give them a chance, too. We'll see. At least it got me introduced to idolfaggotry, and it has been fun.
