Weight Reduction + Quality tires > all other mods

Weight Reduction + Quality tires > all other mods.
Prove me wrong.

>Not upgrading his car with tribal drawings on all sides and car related companies logos on all the windows
It's like you want to be slow

Improving driver skill > physical mods

Better car>modded shitbox

2000 hours in Gran Turismo 4 > any actual driving experience.

>video games

Depends on what you are trying to do, if you want to go wangan you NEED power and aero.

best mods are good seat covers and heavy duty floor mats

>tfw car already weights 1903 lbs stock
Should I try weight reduction?
What should I remove?

What about them? They're great. They let me drive cars I would never be able to in real life.

They are to driving as what a play oven would be to fine culinary artistry.

>He doesn't cook on the reg with his Easy Bake

remove body

Aerodynamic + lightweight

>ac
>mechanical power steering pump
>lighter wheels
>carpets
>all air bags
>replace dash with folded checker plate aluminium dash
>remove window mechanism and fix windows up
>replace comfy seats with hard, light racing seats
>replace glass with perspex
>smaller fuel tank
>empty fuel tank
>go on a diet

>>ac
>>mechanical power steering pump
Not in car anyway
>lighter wheels
14" steelies here, should I go for forged aluminum?
>carpets
>empty fuel tank
>replace comfy seats with hard, light racing seats
Already on the list, with the full siezed spare wheel, rear seats and passenger seat.
>all air bags
>replace glass with perspex
Sadly we have inspections where I live, there are only 2 airbags anyway...
>replace dash with folded checker plate aluminium dash
dash is already single piece of plastic, not much to gain here...
>remove window mechanism and fix windows up
Does that do much on 2 windows with cranks?
>smaller fuel tank
Smaller than 9 gallons?
>go on a diet
No, 125 lbs is low enough...

I was joking, m8. Unless it's a racing car, just dump the spare and maybe get some lighter seats that aren't quite cardboard tier.

titanium exhaust
carbon fiber hood/trunk (if not already plastic)

I guess dumping the rear seats and spare tire will be most efficient, anything else is marginal gains...

Post pics of your shitbox when you dump the rear seats for 0.2 second improvement on your 1/4 mile.

The lower the weight the larger the effect of each pound lost...

So?

>suspension = wide tyres and rims > everything else
T. Tougefag

All I really want is some lightweight wheels, re71rs and some chassis bracing to stop my car from tri podding and i'll be happy. Brakes would be next, they already start to cook now and the good roads by me are still closed for winter.

>wide tires and rims
>not realizing that muh tires that are more than 20mm wider than stock increase rotating mass and don't help with grip significantly enough to account for the extra rotating mass
>not realizing that wide wheels increase rotating mass much more severely than wider tires, thus making you even slower
>upgrading your wheels and tires for anything but performance
>actually calling wheels "rims"

My daily Weighs 4300lbs and is on. 215 chink tires Lmao.
It corners like fucking shit, but I'm not giving up my comfy

but only to a point
some dork in a LaFerrari could probably go around the burgerking faster than Ayrton Senna in a Willys Jeep, for instance

My civic of all things weighs 2800 pounds, and I don't even know what you could remove other than the spare tire, seats, and ac.

Racing school is best mod

Cold air intake

Checkmate boys

>I don't even know what you could remove other than the spare tire, seats, and ac
Your point? That adds up quick
2,800lbs/115hp = 24.35lb/hp
if you remove 150 lbs that brings it down to
2,650lbs/115hp = 23.04lb/hp
so you could gain the equivelent of 6.5hp
2,800lbs/121.5hp = 23.04lb/hp

The primary goal of weight reduction is better handling and stopping rather than improving your power/weight.

>125 lbs
Pls be grill or mr dwarf skeltal

Getting good at driving > whatever dumb rice you do to your car that makes you think you go faster.

stop saving thumbnails.

Top one should always be unfucking the engine, which depends on the manufacturer, location, etc. Think removal of:
EGR
DPF and / or swirl flaps if applicable
PCV + catch can install
(Pre)cat(s)
Swap a manifold for headers if the car has a cast iron manifold or so
Swapping rims + tyres for nice ones
Pick up carbon fiber manufacturing, it's easy to do if you're not a retard and can actually make you some money. I made a CF subframe and fuel tank for my motorcycle because the fuel tank is a shitty nylon polymer that expands due to ethanol. A CF one saves weight and is larger, and I sell them for 130 eurobucks profit on my bike's forum. Carbon fiber everything starting with hood + trunk + roof. CF underbody panels, dash, center console, go crazy
Track practice sessions are here
Titanium exhaust + go diet you fat fuck

>easy bake
What do you think ramsay makes his food on?

removing 100 lbs from a 1900 lbs car is as effective as removing 200 lbs from a 3800 lbs car.
I´m not a skelly, nor am I a grill...

Don't forget brakes for long sessions. Don't want to end up with faded to fuck brakes halfway into a run.

Not only does it decrease weight/power ratio, it reduces thermal load on your brakes, load sensitivity effects on your tires and sometimes changes center of gravity as well.
In some cases the car actualy handles worse after weight reduction.

Weight reduction also reduces stress on the brakes.

If you want better handling wouldn't it be easier to just get a performance steering wheel?

Could you feasibly mod a Jeep into a LaFerrari?

being a good driver > tyres > weight reduction > reliability mods > suspension mods > quality of life like short shifter > aero drag reduction and stability mods > power > useless shit > muh downforce > muh asthetics > muh comfy

burgerking is a meme track because those long as fuck straights let shit handling cars catch up to slower well handling cars.

das da point though

Only if it's lighter

>Tires>weight reduction
>Short shifter>power
How can a single man be so utterly wrong?

Delete this

Short shifters are gay and a waste of money

>have a full twm short shifter installed in my car
>also have a 3" extension on that shifter
>>>pic related (obviously)

>CF roof

Not everyone drives a ragtop, Sven.

>4400lbs car
>nothing to remove but seats and body panels
>have to put toolbox and bags of dirt in the trunk to get traction when it's cold outside

i'd still take it over any other car
