Be aware, this is the gateway drug to wasting your life savings on spaceship jpegs, keep your discipline and don't upgrade further unless you specifically want to buy Ben more eyeballs(and cheese), finance Sandi's dreams of being a C grade actor, fuel Chris's cocaine habit and send Erin and Brian into crippling inescapable depression.
>regular mount >pylon >autonomous turret is this the biggest solo ship in the game? That's the 400$ gimmick?
Juan Carter
should have attached the pic I guess
Alexander Barnes
...
Logan Brooks
Maybe. People speculate it needs a remote turret operator but who the fuck knows what that means.
Henry Davis
There's no NMS in the OP.
What are you guys trying to pull here/
Jacob Cooper
The 600? The turrets are remotely controlled, not automatic. You can probably slave the front one to the pilot, considering it's mounted below the cockpit, but the rear one is gonna need another crew member.
Elijah Nelson
Space is fun No mans sky is fun Hello games is fun
Adrian Hall
nms's release sure was fun
Jacob Bennett
They're remote gimbals, like the turret on the Super Hornet. One of the other bridge stations can go into turret camera view and control it from there.
Jack Ross
It means they're still likely manned turrets, just that you control them from a control station inside the ship instead of stepping into a glass blister. Basically how any other fucking space game would have handled manned turrets
Charles Campbell
It sure was
>tfw money cave doesn't exist anymore and you can't stack cubes to 100
Camden Barnes
Can't I just cheat and give myself the money? Or is that not allowed.
Charles Young
>is that not allowed. You must ask your mom
Jack Brooks
I cheat with your mum all the time, kiddo.
Kayden Lee
She said I could. Your mom said I could too. What now?
Luis Gray
Probably
Owen Lopez
Yes, but that requires a trainer or save editing
Gabriel Gutierrez
xth for best ship
Adam Cruz

where in the two hour shitfest can I find this stuff?
Juan Davis
>not spesssquid

this image will always make me laugh >constellation is SPACE SUPERIORITY GUYS it's meant to be BETTER >Introducing the RSI Polaris >promo art shows a connie getting cleaved in half
Caleb Cox
I just want to cheat on video games, why tf do I need a personal trainer?
Angel Martinez
I'm sure it will end up just as bad ass as the retailator, vanguard or Connie was promised as being...
William Sanchez
i remember thinking something similar once. maybe just more of an indicator that the larger ship in this instance is heavier-duty in every way but still, whew, yeah, bit of a bitter pill for the connies
Carter Walker
>>promo art shows a connie getting cleaved in half
By a Kingship. I mean the marketing is bullshit and all but you picked a stupid picture to use as 'proof'.
Ayden Bell
i really hope this is as modern as it gets inside with things being well thought out but the strut on the idris we just saw obscuring the vision of the helm was absolutely ghastly.
i don't think they have a lot of leash left given recent failings in deliverables and scheduling though. people will get reasonably impatient sooner or later and the cookie's gonna crumble as to whether or not CIG is worth a half shit or not
Bentley Gonzalez
This is like saying a Rebel blockade runner that got shredded by a Super Star Destroyer sucks cause it can't keep up with the other giant capital ships. They are two completely different classes, and it's fighting way beyond it's weight class.
Dominic Walker
Which one is fancier/nicer to have? I already have cargo and exploration ships, picked up the BMM before the price increase as an upgrade token.
Dominic Clark
do not give cig fucking any more money at this juncture dude
Joshua Mitchell
>people will get reasonably impatient sooner or later and the cookie's gonna crumble as to whether or not CIG is worth a half shit or not Lol. I think you need a wakeup call. Go visit tidder and see how the cult is pardoning everything in CIG's presentation while talking about how many 600i's and Glaives they bought. CIG have a circle of ultra-deluded megawhales who they know they can get away with stretching incredibly thin. also apparently they've started avatarfagging
Nathan Wood
>posting non avatars as avatarfags. These people are so new like you they haven't even looked at their profile on the website.
Colton Fisher
you fail to take into account the DER (Dad Exhaustion Rate) Theorem which models for attrition of older, perhaps more wealthy (dad whale/principle investor) players in factors of death by various natural complications, average rate of spontaneous loss of life in things such as homicide or vehicular collision, and also late-onset permanent disability that can render accounts of purchased jpgs useless and their owners no longer in a place to further invest as it may not even be useful to them any longer
eventually is the key term i'd stress, and while it's sure not to be sooner here, it will indeed come about. there won't be enough water to wash away the blood of all the boomers that died waiting for this stupid gaem.
Jack Long
>you should watch cartoons >well i should they look more pleasant to my eye >that's because you have a mind of a child You got owned by a redditor.Dude how is that even possible?
Samuel Myers
>I think you need a wakeup call.
I think you need to stop shitposting on Plebbit just so you can brag about it on 4chins.
You aren't the first and you're certainly not going to be the last but you're certainly one of the least entertaining.
Ryder Wood
Don't tell me what to do faggot
Ryder Roberts
So we'll most likely not get 3.0 this year? Maybe a half assed 3.0 around new-year/january just because CIG feel they have too?
Connor Thompson
When is the next big sale? Thinking about buying a ship upgrade or two for my friends. You. Nothing big but you guys are suffering and deserve a little something to keep your chins up.
Carter Richardson
>to use as proof nothing but schadenfreude from me here friend, I have no agenda to push but laughing at delusional forumites. pic related is who I first think of when I see that image.
they realized the gladius is supposed to be dated technology and they can't come up with anything that makes that look old in comparison, so they had to scale it back instead

>two idiots arguing about opinions no one's going to take you seriously when you say "it looks like shit" with no further analysis, because that is a subjective opinion, and to others it looked fine, or even great

Mate, the rate at which these dads who are either retired or live a routine 9-5 office job dying off will be about as slow as Hawking radiation. CIG will be able to keep their doors open long after CR's body is converted to a biomechanical exosuit for an AI so he can keep nitpicking cabinet textures even after he's "gone". >You think this is me I literally just went to /new/ and clicked on the first sane looking thread I could find.
Josiah Johnson
>A fully crewed constellation should hold off 4 to 5 hornets How in the fuck would that ever happen? The conny is slow as fuck compared to a hornet and the 2 turrets barely scratch the shields of any fighter, even if they hit consistently
Joseph Clark
thanks skellybro but we're fine, it's just that most actual /scg/ regulars have drifted off and become occasional drop ins waiting for 3.0, while the most dedicated posters currently are goons and /v/irgins come to spew their retarded drivel about how the sky is falling.
Parker Ortiz
that post is ancient theorycrafting from before the constellation was even in AC. of course it's obvious even without actual examples that he was delusional, but there were no hard facts yet staring anyone in the face.
Colton Roberts
>before the constellation was even in AC user...I
James Gonzalez
Wow now I'm just depressed. I guess I'll be back at 3.0
Ian Hernandez
Probably a themed sale in October for citcon and a full anniversary sale in November
If you didnt watch this do yourself a favor and torrent it ASAP. Its the only star wars movie that shits badassery and whose story doesnt revolve around fags with shiny sticks.

>>constellation is SPACE SUPERIORITY GUYS it's meant to be BETTER It was never sold with those words, it's just a multipurpose transport ship. What you should be wondering is why it wasn't cleaved in half while FLEEING the biggest & most dangerous Vanduul ship it was never built to fight.
I wonder how many Polaris would be needed to harass and destroy a Kingship, a dozen at least.
Asher Wright
It is pretty cool, but I'd much rather have a gun-and-missile focused corvette that didn't waste 1/3 of its volume on a hangar. Also it looks almost for certain that the Polaris wont be able to hold the new Cutlass, rip hopes and dreams of using my CutBlack as an away team dropship.
Ethan Brown
ships bigger than connie were a mistake
Ryan Allen
690, 890, the starliner, the prospect and the orion are all bot ships.
Merchantman is for traders who actually play.
Austin Gray
bullshit. Ships bigger than connie are where the game will get fun and be more than circle strafing and alpha strike.
Joshua Mitchell
He actually has a point. They can only be operated with entire orgs.
Andrew Williams
>roleplaying ship repairman >fun
Caleb Miller
Seconding Citcon will have a large but not complete sale, Nov will have everything or nearly everything.
Hey man speak for yourself, some people here only have have a small ship or two I'm sure, I'm not one of them, but in my Org the guys most excited for SC are all poorfags with nothing More that auroras and mustangs.
Austin Miller
Caterpillar,Retaliator and Starfarer are bigger then the Constellation and don't require orgs to be operated.
Isaiah Wood
its 32 s3 missiles and like fourteen individual fairly large guns seem reasonably substantial for a very armament-focused vessel. that's to say nothing of the twenty eight max size torpedos the thing might indeed be able to shit out. I think it would be a daunting platform to see hovering over even the ground as three to five or the turrets will all have pretty good arcs on people coming in from a ways off and we've no idea of the articulation that's going to be afforded to the remote-controlled highest-size nose mount.
not having a hangar would hamstring how cool the ship can potentially be and would butcher its possible scope of usage for... even more armaments when it has so many to begin with
how many guns is enough user? the thing might not be good for anything but strictly space control past a point if it's so coated. another thing to consider is the polaris' stated relative high speed for a capital vessel atop the immense torpedo hold. the higher-risk strike runs than the little rsi corvette might end up getting to execute will be far cooler than just drifting a tub coated in massive guns around
this said there might still be a niche in more raw firepower that a similarly sized cap can fulfill but i don't see another cap coming in too too soon here, likely inevitable though unless they've enough vessels for the ecology they're after
the corvette actually needing to perform torpedo volleys to fully utilize its damage potential is far cooler than some nimbler capital ship that would just open up with tandem sts gun mounts or some shit and i don't feel that this can be debated effectively due to the complications it introduces to the scope of work the polaris will fill and exactly how sick and nerve-wracking a real proper strafing run will be for probably everyone on board
Josiah Adams
Thats the point dude, It's an MMO, you're not meant to play it entirely solo.
James Jackson
Its largest guns are S5s, the Same as a StarG, which is a fuel tanker.
>Hangars are automatically cool, and not having one is uncool. An unqualified opinion. I would much rather have that space be modular so I could put what I wanted in it to customize the function of the ship, rather than putting a ship in it which while flexible, is also tremendously vulnerable, If your carried ship is destroyed that hangar is literally wasted space, and the only ships small enough to be carried are all relatively fragile with limited roles, mostly straight combat. One of the reasons I had hoped the Cutlass would fit is that it is one of the few ships flexible enough to make that Hangar space valuable. A single escort fighter is of minimal value, A single additional bomber as well, either one is as likely to die before doing its job(combat power projection) as it is to actually aid you in a fight. A cutlass functioning as a multirole scout and dropship would have been quite valuable, sending teams into an area you dont want to risk the corvette or shutting cargo/supplies from the surface without going to the trouble of landing a cap ship on a planet or stations.
Multi-role skiff is of significant flexible value, one fighter, one bomber, or hyperspecialized scout like the Terrapin is of far less.
Sebastian Rogers
user, you miss a detail. If it filled the internal space, it would be vastly heavier, slower, it would have to use a bigger shield to survive and if you have to power a main canon it wouldn't have enough power for the shield, the guns and the engines. It would be too small to protect himself from capital ship canon and too slow to escape anti-ship bomber.
You simply can't have a cheated ship. If you want a gunboat, join us in our quest for a Drake capital (pirate) ship, with tons of turrets to protect himself from missiles and big guns for serious business.
It's so much of a niche I won't be surprised if CIG do it.
Gavin Thomas
We might. As shitty as Gamescon was, it did show us that they're actually at where they said they were a year ago, it's just bug ridden, which we know, and they're awful at presenting. Given it's approaching a year late, and we can see that most if not all of what they said would be in 3.0 is actually present and working (when the sun is shining and God smiles), we're probably *relatively* close to 3.0. They updated their official estimate to the end of October, which is when the must fix issues will be gone following the rate they've been fixing them at recently, so it's probably a pretty good estimate at this point. It's definitely possible it's delayed into 2018, but right now it does look like they're coming down the homestretch.
Kayden Adams
>Hangars are automatically liberating in capabilities and facets of gameplay afforded to the ship, and not having one is inherently stymieing in this regard.
Jackson Green
>Entire orgs. Reclaimer requires like 5 Orion, which is 180 meters long like 5 again Carrack 3 to maybe 7 depending. Endeavour like 4 as skeleton crew. The bloody Hull-E is only list as 8 and thats the size of a Javelin.
Point is that its just literal friendless autists whining that they cannot fly literally any ship in the game solo, they'll have to interact with other humans and co-operate for the large increases in power, getting back around to the oldest complaint of autists in gaming, Teamwork OP.
Go play Guns of Icarus, being ship repairman is fun. Being Helm is fun, Being Gunner is fun.
Aiden Perez
Remotely operated means you don't have to climb into a turret, so there's some kind of digital station that you will man it from.
Jaxson Collins
How would you even bot in this game?
Julian Cox
You have a better ship than the cutlass that fit in. the vanguard.
It's more agile than the cutlass to help you against fighter, you can make a faster scout of any of the variant but one is even specialized in Electronic Warfare, another will drop your troops. As for cargo, it's not needed. The Polaris can defend itself, it can land in the wild and carry your vehicle, making it a good landing craft anyway. The Polaris is the smallest capital ship, it might fit on the ground base we've seen even if it brim over the edge
Charles White
Hangar means you need a second flight crew, means a greater load on maintainers, two sets of ship systems to fix. And for the space its take up, make the ship big and fat, it provides a minimal increase in firepower(Hornet/Gladiator/Sabre), or a specialized increase in utility (IE Terrapin, Herald) Where a Modular socket in smae space could be filled with a hanger if you want that, or It could be filled with systems that directly increase the power or utility of the hull, such as extra generators and more powerful shields, or an increase in sensor capability, or a big fuckoff fuel tank so you'd only have to make port once a year, or More Dakka, or a Barracks and Armory for ground troops to make it an Assault ship. My point is that a modular space would be preferable to an assigned limited space.
if the ship is going to be hard focused on Combat I would rather have a hard focused combat ship thats actually focused on Combat, IE a gunship, with weapons armor and shields enough to engage in direct combat and come out on top. The polaris as it sits now is unfocused, its not really good at anything, because it's trying to be too many things at once while not having the ability to specialize. The hangar holds it back as a fast attack ship, making it a larger slower target while making missiles runs. It's trying to be a jack of all trades but the real result is that is compromised in every role.
>Vanguard >Better than new cutlass. That's not even a funny meme, it's a bad joke. Vanguard a literal shit carrying no cargo, fewer troops with less firepower and no capacity to carry a support vehicle, the Cutlass black can caryy like ten dudes, two dragonflies and extra supplies for them, in a hull with significant firepower, and even a powerfull manned turret to cover the landing and debarkation, it is a solid dropship.
Jaxon Brooks
star citizen has none of the mechanics that makes goi fun
Ryan Ward
readYou can't have your overpowered ship good against everything, and removing the hangar wouldn't improve it as a torpedo ship, it would just make it less versatile
It isn't even what make it big, the engine are spread apart for maneuverability
If you carry a support vehicle you'll carry less troops and you would need something to defend the sluggish Cutlass. Better solution is to land the Polaris with a tank in the cargo bay (or whatever)
Jaxson Reed
one's optimism for the project does not necessarily translate to time spent here
Robert Cox
thats lame, when you can have 8 people pilot 8 ships and beat 1 ship easily
Isaac Howard
Even the current shit Cutlass with 2x s3 is more powerfull than any of the single s5 guns you can put on the Vanguard, vanguard has shit firepower
Daniel Young
Pic needs an edit to replace the incorrent "top/bottom missile rack" on the nose with "front turret"
Chase Hughes
What are you supposed to do when you get a bounty placed on you?
When bounty hunting my turrets kept shooting for a split second when the target chaffed, and I nicked a police ship. Hurried out of there and got to a station only to get blown up and lose all the bounty money I would have made. What should I have done?
David Bell
After some quick calculations I get 2557 gun dps for the Vanguard (plus 4 S4 missile hardpoints) and 2166 weapon dps plus 6 S3 missile hardpoints for the reworked Cutlass. Sure, it has a higher damage output but also absolutely no utility outside of it. Not only that, but the last time I tried it the Vanguard handled like ass, its hitbox is 50% engines and as soon as one of them gets shot off it takes a whole bunch of maneuvering thrusters with it, making combat pretty much impossible despite the claimed redundancy.
Henry Morales
You should have left the system you were in and paid your bounty elsewhere. Once you have a bounty, they shoot on sight. Sometimes you can make it. Most times, you need to high wake out.
Josiah Russell
None of that means anything if they nerf the power output with the pipe system. You have the theoretical max, but there is no indication that either ship can deliver enough power to actually put out that much. Who knows how they will "balance" it.
Vangard has longer range so its a good scout also can be fitted like a bomber,as a drop ship and even has e-warfare capabilities.Cutlass's only advantage is the cargo capacity.
Colton Scott
I did leave that system, went two jumps away. Guess it wasn't enough. Would turning on silent running while docking have prevented them from scanning me? Or can you not dock while silent running?
Silent running will prevent most scans, it will not stop a scan in progress. They can still get you if you are too close, but normally you can cruise right in. Once you are through the shield and out of line of sight, you can turn silent running off to land.
David Perez
I've been looking for more CIG related interviews at gamescom post them if you have them.

This one is my favourite.
Only for the ships that got trading cards (Nox, Dragonfly, Ursa Rover, Prospector, Aurora LX, Glaive).
