that's why most competing games (dota, smite, etc.) don't use these "roles" but instead have a bunch of attribute labels that every hero has a couple of on them (healer, initiator, crowd control, damage, etc.)

league has more defined roles but it also has a much more rigid forced meta
if e.g. a hero who is supposed to be a jungler starts getting played in lane they usually just nerf the shit out of whatever enabled that so that people go back to playing the hero the way they're "supposed" to
