X3 is hit or miss depending on how you wanna play it
X4 is really good

Yes, he manages to be overpowered or at least good in every game he is playable in, even the platformers. X1-X3 are all good. X4 has shit level design and is super casual but can be fun. X5 is a little better in that aspect but they fucked up with things like a shitty colony drop mechanic, has the most plot. X6 has some shitty level design and is harder than the others but can be fun. Pretend X7 doesn't exist, it's not even the fun kind of bad (outside of the voice acting), it's just so bland and boring. X8's stages are so gimmicky it might as well be a collection of minigames instead of a platformer but it's ok, worse than the rest (other than X7) though. Zero 1-4 are great games.
