Gelt is probably a good pick since you can get Karl Franz really easily. He and his magic was buffed recently too, though I haven't tried him myself. On the other hand Karl starts with Reiksguard, which is quite good. So either Gelt or Karl. Karl is tougher in melee though.

Why would the make a game with only 2 factions? That nobody outside of America cares about? The American civil war's best chance for an appearance was as DLC for Victoria: Total War, but if they were going to make that they'd have done it after FotS when they already had all the game mechanics.
