I actually was thinking about getting into raiding come Stormblood, but then the reality of coming home from work exhausted set in. I like FFXIV because it's leisurely and relaxing and I don't think I would enjoy trying to raid and learn things after work or on my days off.

Not them, but the trick to hitting 70 is not to stress out on it. Just do roulettes every day and you will be there before you know it. I had 5 70s just over a month after SB hit, and I also work ~40 hours per week. All of those classes were 60 already though (except SAM, but PotD is very fast for 50-60)

Crafters can easily be leveled with leves and if you craft the mats yourself you'll get even more xp. Crafting is apparently quite easy atm.

Your raid experience is going to depend on people's willingness to learn and NOT GETTING FRUSTRATED. If nothing else, there's pugging and sometimes people end up forming statics that way. I never played WoW, but I think the general time commitment to raids is much lower than it is in WoW, so it's a lot more job-friendly. Yoshida said this is something that will persist throughout the game's lifespan.

I had fun leveling SAM early on, but that's when it was worth more XP and people were just going for levels more than actually PvPing. Leveling MNK recently though was just flat out unfun, 90% of the time you try to do any PvP as melee you get blown up by ranged instantly or holmganged/DRK pulled then blown up. Have to be absurdly patient to get anything done on ninja :/ but it's more tolerable than monk...
