everyone else rev matches because it's easier on the clutch. less slip. of course, there's always going to be a little slip because you can't match RPMs perfectly, but rev matching = less slip = less/no heat = no significant clutch wear

Newbie here, I'm looking for secondhand bikes that are reliable, solid, cheap, and don't look like an origami plastic insects. Has to be 650 cc or less, and common aftermarket parts would be a nice bonus.

Is there much difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke? The simplicity of a 2 stroke engine is appealing, but I'd prefer not to have to premix my fuel every time.

It depends on the displacement and 2 strokes usually have smaller displacements but I would say all thing equal 2 strokes can be pretty godamn fuel efficient.

Buy an old Ninja 250 and take the fairings off if you want the naked look.

Also $1000 won't get you shit for a LAMS bike, except for maybe a GT250 which I wouldn't recommend.

Hell, I spent that much on gear and it was cheap shit.

Some 2 strokes have a reservoir where you can put oil in and it will go for about 1000km before you have to add again. So that’s not too bad.

I was expecting an unsightly mess to be hidden under those fairings, that might be a much better option then.
