Debadging
Love it
>debages a 318i and places a M badge
It depends it makes the car look clean but it also makes you look like you've bought the base model and are assmad.
oh god haha, i just meant debadging desu. Fuck rebadging, especially to a higher trim.
>assmad
lmao
good when done correctly
Looks overdone and played out like every other pointless visual mod.
i'm not sure what you mean by looking overdone, it's literally the opposite of overdoing, it's taking away the badge...hence the name "debadging"
depends. I like it when the model marque is shaved but not the brand logo
Im not sure who it appeals to i think its useless and takes away from your boring car. Im assuming its for deviants or children i dont know.
You see a debadged rx7 fd you still know its an fd waste of time doesnt really do anything for it
All you retarded bimmer nerds take your badges off and no one has any idea your 318 isnt a 318 and we just assume its a 318 anyway and we still dont care about it if your using it to have strangers talk to you about it your thirsty
In ops pic it just makes the flat expanse of trunk vacant no texture to break it up
I like the model badge taken off but not the brand logo.
>Muh symmetry
>yfw my debadged 325i has a 3.2l i6 from the following generation M3
The thing is, if you have a decent model you dont debadge it because you want people to see what youve got. So people assume when you have a debadged car its the poorfag base model and you want to look cooler.
All this is only relevant to faggots who either buy cars only for status or have shitty taste. So who cares.
>What are your opinions on debadging Veeky Forums ?
Does debadging improve the chances of hit and run?
You think you're the only one to take your badges off your car? Do you think smoked tail lights look unique too?
>What are your opinions on debadging Veeky Forums ?
It's good when it removes the dealer badge. I get tired of those little chromed plastic badge plates the dealer put on the lower left side of the trunk lid.
I saw a Miata rebadged with a Mercedes emblem on the trunk.. like, who is supposed to fall for that shit?
Not a fan, it usually cheapens the look of the car. Even if its a make that has stupid badges, if that's who it came from that factory, that's how it should stay.
didn't say any of that, you're assuming alot of shit desu, i just didnt understand what he meant by "over doing it" just poor wording i guess.
LOL
I debage the truck emblems but leave or replace it with the engine emblem. Cummins, power stroke, Duramax, cat, and I also leave Allison to show fags I have a tranny
debadging is just normie tier now
it's even an option when buying VAG group cars from the factory to tick a little box to debadge
>De-badge WRX
>Replace with Corolla badges and Toyota emblems
>i want to remove the 320d badge from my car just for aesthetics
>would remove it even if it was a 335i
Why are you all so assmad about debadging, lmao, what about people who want to debadge just for a cleaner look?
You nerds probably love chrome strips too dont ya?
i like getting rid of unnecessary badges but removing all including the manufacture badge just makes the car look strange, its like seeing a car with no mirrors or a person with no eyebrows, it looks the same but wrong
Now I want to do this
I removed my 335i badge on my e90, cause anyone who knows, knows the exhaust is different but I also get normies asking me if it's a 328 so I'm conflicted
>Not welding a spirit of extasy to the hood of an EK hatch
You can tell what type of 3 series it is just by looking at the exhaust.
Like I give a fuck
I've done it. I removed the I N F I N I T I letters under the emblem and I think it cleaned up the rear quite a bit. It can be tastefully done. Though when you don't compound and polish afterward, you are gonna have a bad time
I'd actually love to get something like a Focus RS or an M240i and replace the badges and bodykit with the ones from a 1.0l Ecoboost or a 218i
The exhausts and tyres would be the giveaways, but still
As said previously, if it's completely debadged it ends up looking cheap. Living in CA, I see one and think of mexicans with their trashy rice mobiles.
At the most, take off everything but the logo.
Debadging makes your car look like it's from an old air freshener ad
>that orange peel
It disgusts me that new cars come with so much of this, and the paint is so thin that there's no hope of correcting it.
>removes M-badge and places 318Ci-badge
Orange peel on new cars is pretty bad, as for how thin it is, meh, you can work with it. You just have to know what you're doing
>not replacing your badges with decals for weight saving
>makes you look like you've bought the base model and are assmad.
this. only insecure boomers debadge.
I drive a 2008 VW golf so I debadged it, because I didn't want the lame little bunny rabbit on the back. Might get a 2.5 badge though
what do people think of this?
if you debadge I automatically assume you have the shittiest iteration of your car and that you're ashamed
This is acceptable as long as it's clearly absurd. M badge on a 318 is not, AMG BiTurbo V12 on an A-class is.
what if i have the highest trim and i want ricers to unwittingly rev at me?
Kinda ghey, unless you were trying to avoid trouble from the cops when's the last time you saw someone pick off the AMG, M, PS, Type R, R32 badges from their cars? Also from my experience its usually done when people have the lowest shit model of a good car and want people to think they have a better one, like the Russian guy who pulled the S320 badge off his W140 S-Class so normies would presume he had a S500
I think it just looks cleaner, and it would also leave red-light racefags stumped on what you have
They probably did it for lulz, nobody is confusing a Miata for a Mercedes SLK 'vert
I always thought about getting one of those 1980s Chrysler Lebaron convertibles and then ironically slapping an AMG badge on the trunklid and the Benz star where the Pentastar went. The boxy dimensions, chrome grille and rippled tail lights always struck me like they were trying to imply a bootleg Mercedes SL with the K-based convertibles
Yeah, taking emblems and badges off makes the car look generic like the made up cars they have in the GTA games
>"I like this car so much I am buying it new from the dealer, but I am ashamed for anyone to I paid new MSRP for it"
Same, user
I've had the unwitting luck of the entire 4 cars I've owned my entire adult driving life be the top model or the new/innovative model with its own special badging to signify this. I've kept mine on so people know I have the best model and in the case of the 1981 Deville sedan with the V8-6-4 (beta version of V8 with cylinder shutdown that didn't work) kept the emblems on so people see the rarity of my motor.
I like you better than the weeby JDM fag that picked off his G35's I N F I N I T I off his trunklid and replaced it with S K Y L I N E like the car is sold like in Japan but as a Nissan.
My suv is debadged (had it repainted and shitty Mexicans did a shit job) and I get fucked with by the cops a lot.
I get pulled over way too frequently and I sincerely believe it’s because of it.
I’ve gotten arrested for no front license plate because the cop wanted to search my vehicle because he thought I was a drug dealer.
Well if your white then probably. Cops just don’t like any sign of non conformity.
I literally saw a red Miata debadged and then badged with Ferrari emblems. Including the decals on the sides.
That’s just dumb a try hard who is trying to make the world a
I debadged my Focus RS.
In reality I only removed the word "Focus" from the hatch.
I think it looks nicer though
That’s just a dumb try hard who is trying too hard to make the world a bit brighter with his gay ass sense of humor.
Saw a Miata (red) with what appeared to be Ferrari badges. Upon closer inspection, the silhouette in the badge was a jackalope.
If I had the money to buy an M car, I would want to flaunt it. Not deceive normalfags into thinking I own a base model shitbox.
hahaha
>mfw thats what they fucking look like now
Better than black badging
I debadge and you're not wrong
This is what I assume debadging is about, at least in the US.
it's illegal and breach of contract to debadge your car. Enjoy going to jail you scums.
As a matter of fact I used the FBI's database to track down the anonymous owners of these vehicles and report them to their respective local police, who will then promptly throw the case files into the garbage since nobody wants to deal with gigantic faggots that deal with such petty shit.
>buy 320i
>debadge
>get numberplate "XXX XX 330"
>everyone assumes it's a 330i
>mfw
I have a debadged upper-spec car and I think it’s fun.
I mean come on in this day and age a vehicle coming with a badge on the front that says 6.2L? I don’t want to get my car damaged by some environmentalist hippie. Plus I just think it’s just tacky. Took all the other identifying badges off.
