Denuvo causes performance issues because of the way it functions. Early versions could even damage hardware and even now it's using up your read/writes faster than it needs to because it's just shuffling shit all over the place.

I think a lot of people think that it might be the cause, hense the circle jerk. It's believed that it does this with other games as well.

Only played to Act 2 of Press Garden but I personally have had zero issues.
