GK is ridiculously fun. Especially when paired with support ships. I routinely go into 3 bbs and drop all of them down by at least 60% and usually kill one of them. I can take on dds with ease with secondary build and hydro and the aa is ridiculous. I'm pretty good at damage control though. Learn damage control if you want to master the km bbs

I only just started the FdG grind and I'm struggling to play it compare to the Bismarck, not sure if I want to put in the time to go up to t10.

wtf, FdG is basically a Bismarck with better AA, better Hydro, better guns and secondaries.
Those things outweigh the loss of concealment (if you are one of those retards running CE builds on german BBs) and manouverability.

I still can't fully grasp why how so many people seem to be struggling with what happens to be an improved Bismarck at t9, i think the reason might be that they are unable to adapt the previous KM BBs playstyle to the slighty more passive gameplay of t9/t10.
She must be played like a dagger, pushing the enemy weak spots with possibly some support; she makes for a good damage sponge, but you can't really expect to break through enemy lines as easily as in Bismarck golden age.

The most important change is of course removal of stealthfire.

I play Bismarck as a DD killer, the FdG is a lot more sluggish and it's also longer so dodging torps is a lot harder, granted it has faster turret traverse.
And t10 matches are basically all campfest now and the thing's pretty lacking in long range fire power compared to the counterparts. It's also seem to take damage a lot more easily than the Bismarck for some reason which I can't understand why.

Problem is i want to move up to the Neptune and then the Minotaur and generally what happens is that i ignore the ships that i leave behind.
Fiji got 25 games played or something, Edinburgh is double that but i hang on in case of Ranked desu but i have much better options anyways for that mode but now with Operation i have more choice.

Excuse the stupid question but how does spotting ships in smoke work? Assume I have no radar or hydro of any kind and heading straight into a DD sitting in a smoke, do I only spot it if I'm inside the smoke myself?

If you're hiding inside your smoke and no one from your team is around to spot for you, the only way for you to spot someone outside of your smoke is by the bare proximity spotting range of 2km

If there is nothing else to spot, you can only spot ship in smoke with proximity spotting 2km.
Same is for ship inside smoke. He is blind, unless there is someone to spot for him.
