The Chosen's equipment improves when yours does right? If so isn't getting armor improvements now more important than weapon ones considering if you upgrade weapons first the chosen will start one shotting people?

I just got the sniper rifle one for my campaign. I wonder if it includes the Reaper rifle?
Either way, the Lost are a massive indierect buff to marksmen and a pretty big nerf to grenadiers, so it will be pretty nice.

I normally have infantry style classes in blue but I don't have Skirmishers yet, I also have some blue on the Reaper

is there a way to enable beta strike, longer timers mid campaign? maybe using ini files? forgot to set it before starting, now im deep into the game and cant be arsed to do it all over again, for the third time

not the user you were talking to, but I agree on the visuals. Trying to recreate UFO by making a similar game was cool and ambitious, but Xenonauts really just makes me want to play openXcom, since it feels like such a weak sidestep rather than an upgrade on the original.

NuXcom isn't necessarily better than the old games, but it's very different in a good way. It's the same reason I like apocalypse better than TFtD, because a refreshing new take can be better than a bland re imagining or a straight downgrade.

Like, fallout 3 was a better sequel than Skyrim, because FO3 was a novel, if disappointing take on a series that switched things up, while Skyrim was a straight and derivative downgrade to the series that ruined everything good without adding anything interesting.

The game feels really full now. I've noticed it is taking me a lot longer to play through than vanilla because I have way more stuff to manage, even beyond more missions. And now the Photobooth occasionally sucks up my time.

I'm glad that the new classes are really not that much stronger than the base xcom classes at the end of the day. Taking them along with the rest of your squad feels natural and doesn't make me feel like I wish I was just taking the new faction heroes.
They have their extreme niches where they excel, but grenadiers are still blowing up all the cover and dealing the sweet guaranteed damage while shredding armor, Marksmen are still the real snipers and now absolutely are great for wading through the Lost, Rangers are still unparalleled single damage dealers for big crits, and no one does what specialists do + now they can be medics and combat specialists.
+ now I can do fun stuff like give all my rangers conceal and blade master.

Not getting any issues on my end. There might be 2 mods conflicting, although that's highly unlikely.

I use integrated dlc after lost towers and snek den raped both my best teams for a long time while assasin is raping my rookies and squaddies new holes.

Jake is right. It's bullshit doing both during the early month when convert actions through the roof and assasin pounding your ass.

So far its fantastic.

Combat didn't change that much, it's still alpha strike galore, maps are still pretty bland and repetitive, but all these new mechanics, QoL changes and classes are really good. There is so much shit to do, my strategy map is literally drowning in various points of interest. Performance is really good too, feels much smoother than a horrible stuttering mess XCOM 2 was.

Played it for about 12 hours yesterday. Feels good. Covert actions mean you can start fighting the AVATAR project really early, new classes are fun, the Lost are actually mechanically interesting, Almost all the new missions aren't times, are soft-timed, or have some mechanic to add time, new Resistance retaliatons with the resistance fighters are fun (though maybe to easy). Fighting the Chosen can be interesting since you won't always be able to just rush them down, bonds are fun.
It's mostly just fun stuff, not sure how balanced it is, but hell if I care right now.

I am using the remove weapons and remove utility like it's a religious act.

Fuck having personal weapons, with the huge amount of troops.
Everyone share the best weapons.

It's pretty good. I put more time into WotC than I put into the base game before I uninstalled it at launch.

I wasn't a big fan of the randomness of the AWC on vanilla and I am not a big fan of this now.

I feel the same way. I'm hoping the smaller Long War mods get updated, but for the most part, I'm pretty happy with the feel now.

The bar depends on willpower so now Focus kits are not garbage marked for sales as always.

If you want to continuously use someone on most missions, outfit them with superior focus.
