They don't flinch when you hit them like in D1. There's a big ass glowing diamond in the center of their shield. Shoot it and they stumble and their shield is disabled.

Energy weapons are your secondary elemental weapons, not Power weapons.

Guessing you've not played D1? Just wait until they bring Stormcaller in for Warlock. You float around for half a minute and hold down shoot and it autotracks lightning onto opponents instakilling them over midrange distances and potentially around corners.

All you have to do is be mid-long range and shoot them with energy weapons. Team shotting will take them down as they're not fast.

like I'm pretty sure I heard Nathan Fillon somewhere and he did an okay job but the shield dude and the woman who took down the gunships with magic sounded very off too

Ikora's line in the story mission is delivered incredibly poorly and Zavala is just dry as always. they're basically relying on Cayde to carry everything, like they have been since Taken King.
