Value is subjective. I like owning things I want, so I don't mind throwing some cash at these things. It's less the objective value of the object (digital art and some numbers in a mediocre RPG) but instead the feeling of rolling, the pursuit of, and eventually attaining what you want, if that makes any sense. Having the cash to throw lets you think like that instead of just in terms of sunk cost.
