Something everyone can point and laugh at.

I'm not sure what to feel...

Neither

But the Mustang II wasn't trying to compete withe the Chevette and the Pacer and cars of the sort..

Yeah, I kinda forgot about AMC :(

Why couldn't GM just pull something small from yurp like the Kadett C to compete with the gookanese shitboxes?

they had their heads to deep up their asses. As always.
Ford could do the same.

god that must have been embarassing

Chevette.
>literally a combination of a Chevelle and a Corvette
What's not to love?

>60 HP from a 1.6L engine
Good fucking God, why did GM bother?

150hp Euro Shove-it.

Bit of an unequal match, the Pinto should really be compared to the Vega since they were released in the same year and the Pinto simply lasted a few years longer.

The Chevette IS basically a Kadett C desu. Same platform iirc

Ikr

I doubt it even made 60 desu. Have you ever driven one. That is NOT 60hp

Cool. Still T platform tho

Oh, I didn't know that

Neither one of those for sure, Murica can't do shitboxes right.

Better question, why didn't Ford bring over the Escort?

All of the big 3 had Japanese or European cars sold under their name in the 70's. Hell Ford was doing it post-war with the Anglia. Even AMC had their Renault partnership that let them sell Renualt 5's here.

We don't like small cars for the most part. Especially not as family cars.

Chrysler had this on the books.

My grandfather fills his time in retirement with project cars, for some reason when he finishes the El Camino SS he’s doing now he really badly wants a Gremlin.

You can put your family in one.

This is on my local craigslist, I would unironically daily it if I had the spare cash at the moment.

I mean, Europe and Japan are the home of shitboxes, but back then the US at least tried lol

That's cool too. But is it from the 70s?

Just snuck in under the wire.
Based on the Hillman Avenger which was "a car"
Chrysler history is a book that will never be correct.

Pic

Just to make things easier.

But there was a Chrysler version of it, or was it only sold as a Lotus?

Chrysler Europe. It was a Sunbeam (Chrysler,Talbot).
Chrylsers involvement in Europe is rather like Fiats in the US.

Lotus was the "daft as a brush" version.
About Countach off the line.

Guaranteed fastest if it was running.

Cool, aesthetic video, but why did the demons take over in the end?

Nothing made much sense in the 70s but the most logical explanation would be a damaged recording or the tape just degraded over the decades.

I prefer "Demons taking over"

>aesthetic
upvoted

Cant upvote here but thanks lol

The reel to reel editing machines would make skipping / slow noises when the film lost it's tracks.
