Had an FJ, you do have to be careful when merging. You get pretty good too, knowing where the cars around you are (the mirrors are a bit on the small side to be truthful).
If the car enters in your blindspot, and stays in your blindspot, if you don't use your mirrors right or phone it in, you're boned.
Not impossible, but hard(er) than many vehicles, yes.
