ITT we regale our memories of the first time we've ever played Minecraft.

I was playing RuneScape and my friend badgered me into playing beta with him. I told him I'd I'm wanted to cut down trees in a Java game I could keep playing RuneScape. I eventually relented, and immediately fell in love. He accidentally gave me a diamond pickaxe to start with instead of one of his stone ones, so to have that as a point of comparison sucked.
I manually quarried out the terrain under his house thinking I was being a clever thief. I didn't know there were only like 5 resources and the world is near infinite.

Both are functional but their functionality is simpler. He made those to simulate their IRL counterparts because he is a turbo autist. So you wont a mod that will force you to build them like they are in real life but using ReactorCraft and Immersive Engineering you can simulate it.

Call this "stupid", but I've managed to remove the "DONATE PLS!!!!!!1" button from NEI. If anyone wants I don't mind uploading the edited mod for you guys, but it's mostly something for modpacks.
It took me exactly FOUR CHARACTERS to do it: /* and */. The trick was knowing where and gradle whining about "MUH WRONG JAVA VERSHUN".

Do you use potions when playing mods?
Because it's literally my first time meddling with java and doing anything on code outside FizzBuzz and hello world. So it took me some tries, commenting and then uncommenting if gradlew spits some error was easier.

I think most things can be configured through the settings menu. If you're having trouble with the chisel, M conflicts with the Mekanism mode switcher as well. Change one of them.

I'm constructing an Obsidian Depths, an underground occult kingdom of sorts that's long been abandoned/deserted/wiped out depending on how many creature skeletons I build in there. I know I'll have a large throne room with a throne of obsidian and fire stone with a large crowned skeleton seated on it.
That'd be a fucking spookfest to stumble upon while digging.

For many intents and purposes, it is. When it comes to aircraft and airships, it definitely is analyzed the same way as water is. Bernouli's equations and shit apply just as easily to both, under certain assumptions.

TerraFirmaCraft adds stone variety and cave-ins. I think there's another mod that adds cave-ins if you want the mechanic without the game overhaul.
I enjoyed playing Bevo's Tech Pack on an old version, not sure how the newer releases are.
Check out some of the less mainstream mods outside the normal RF/EU ecosystem, like Electrical Age.
