W220 chassis is pretty good if the suspension has already been replaced. All other faults are very cheap to prevent, but very expensive if you do not.

It's not slow.
The gears are meant to be closed when accelerating. Most people shift too early.

There is a yellow indicator on the speedometer to inform you when to shift.
1st at 40km, 2nd at 70km, 3rd at 110km, 4th is 140km.

Don't try to use a car that old as a daily driver man. It won't end well. That goes for any car. If it's a second car then fine, knock yourself out. But if that's the case then I'd get a two-door version.

It probably means overtaking, which is kind of difficult to do with a non turbo diesel ar cruising rpm especially if you're used to just putting your foot down and having the car do the rest.

With a Diesel Mercedes you need to be in the correct gear and above 2500rpm and you will not have any problems overtaking.
