go fix them now. I waited too long, didn't hear my rotors grinding or anything yet so I assumed it was chyll but I took it to a shop because I don't have a space to work on them and they're now fucking me out of 1k because they're replacing my front shoes, rotors, and my rear drums were apparently leaking fluid... its always worse than you think it is do it NOW

Probably a loose heatshield or something. Or maybe it’s fucked.

Sounds like ignition pinging

Check your timing

>hit deep pothole
>accelerator pedal falls off

thats the alfa life

Hyundai or Kia?

that's how you know it's broken in

Are you sure this isn't a timing belt tensioner failure imminent?

I redlined it for 30 seconds straight. It had like 210k miles and just burned all the oil until it starved

>Press the gas between 3k and 4k in certain gears, transmission makes horrifying grinding sounds
>Sqeaking throwout bearing every time I stop and idle
>Shifter shakes violently in first gear
>Tappety tappety tap noise at idle
>Brakes sqeak/chirp/rattle depending on the alignment of the planets
>Suspension tap/clunk over minor bumps at low speed
>Center console lights change between bright at dim at the will of a lost spirit
>Sunroof occasionally closes half an inch at a time with each button press
10,000 miles like this lads, let's see how far I can go!

>go to open door from inside
>grab handle and pull
>entire door handle assembly comes out of the door in my hand along with some wires
>WeEEWoOOWEEEEWOOOWEEEEWOOO

fuck

Do you have down syndrome or something? Why did you start wailing after you ripped the handle off?

A ford on the first rain of the season

Next time, keep brakes on, bring rpm up to 2000 and lightly let off the clutch slightly to heat it up.

Also, check to make sure your bell housing service cover is still there... sounds like you got your clutch wet.

>*BAM*

This could be ALLOT of things.

Get yourself an automotive stethoscope and hunt the source.

If its coming from behind the timing cover, it's likely the tensioner.
If it's coming from the upper chambers, it's could be a few things including poor oil flow, worn adjusters...
If it's outside of the engine, hunt for loose shielding.
If it's along the exhaust, it's a clamp or shielding.
If it's at the oil pump or coolant pump, there's excessive play, get it replaced.
If it's coming from the crank case, throw some Lucas in the bitch and sell it while it's warm.

There are other causes as well, but those are the more common causes for rattling while cold.

Goddamn plastic connectors I tell you whut.

You need someone to jounce the suspension while you listen.
Sounds like your real problem is you need a friend.

PERFECT

cold start on a straight piped miata

he said stethoscope you inbred retard.
same shit doctors use to listen to your heart except an automotive one has a big metal rod instead of the regular sound cup. Works exactly the same way.

also you are not a mechanic unless you have one.

>car starts fine
>slips into neutral after first 20 seconds of motion
>have to reverse half a foot before it'll be fine again
>only does this in the morning

>start car
>sounds like the bubble machine from willy wonka
>after few minutes of idling it stops but a loud vibrating noise starts
>restart car after a long drive and rpms dip briefly to around 600 then level off at 900
>turning on the head lights or a/c has the same effect
>leaving the radio on when I turn the car off trickle drains the battery even though the clock turns off and sound stops coming out of the speakers

torsion bar?

>sounds like gentle rod knock at idle
>know its not injectors, i can hear the difference
>give it a rev and its not there unless at idle
am i paranoid or what? this car hasn't seen a dipstick below the half mark in its life, i check the levels every week out of paranoia.

Check your suspension bushings. They clunked before i figured it out. I finally got a good alignment and better fuel economy

Check spark plugs for fouling?

>new Subaru Impreza
>roll window down

>sounds like a fat nail in the front left tire

Your bearings are oil starving at idle.

A real mechanic has a wooden dowel that fits in their ear

>Going up slight incline to mountain highway.
>Car loosing power for once going up the hill.
>Reduce throttle and and shift down
>Nothing happens at first but car makes weird metal crunch sound
>Car suddenly gets a jolt of power and goes to strait to the redline and stays their.
>Hear what I will find out to be the transmission commiting suicide and taking the engine with it.
>Nothing I can do but slam on breaks to get it to stop
>Even had to hand break before it stopped on the side of the road
>Engine does it death rattle in before I turn off the car
>Get out and check the long trail of oil and transmission fluid left by my car
>Everyone in my family thinks I didn't have enough oil because I was going to change the oil the next day.
It was clearly the fucking transmission and family ignored my concerns about it when I asked about it the month leading to it. At least 8 didn't waste a fucking oil change.

you can get one from harbor freight for like 5 bucks. i've had one for 2 years now and it still works just fine

>mfw Masters in EE

>drive shitbox that breaks shit constantly
>nothing breaks for a week
The worst problems are always the ones that develop silently and strike in the middle of the highway in the middle of the night with no possible hope of patching it and limping home.
