Redpill me on the first Gen Jeep Cherokee srt8. Anything in particular to watch out for on a higher mile example?

my speedometer stopped working, that's the only problem I faced.
>higher mile
So like >75k?
Because for a Jeep 75k is an accomplishment, versus say a Toyota where higher mile would mean >300k.
Past 75k problems I’d look for: complete and total engine or transmission fuck ups; almost the entire suspension falling off the truck; engine inaudible over cabin squeaks and suspension creaks; exhaust smells on fire; etc etc.
>con’t
All wheel bearings eliminated; rear end total seized; frequent wheel separation; no seats; electrical gremlins up to and including all dash warning lights continuously illuminated even when ignition off.
ex Chrysler tech here to verify accuracy.. everything looks as usual.. continue discussion
The one I look at has about 100k miles. So I should avoid?
You should avoid Chrysler vehicle, regardless of mileage. Buying one with 100,000 miles is medically retarded and you should be put in a care facility.
The SRT's are a little different than the average Cherokee's. The engine is fairly bulletproof and the trans and transfer case are decently strong to handle the stock power. They're also taken care of better than the throwaway spec Cherokees. Plus there's an aftermarket available that will get you up into the 9's.
Then buy your Chrysler made shitbox with the absolute cheapest bits available. Don't come bitching here when it absolutely fails and costs you thousands.
There's a very good reason Chrysler has a notorious reputation for making shitty, unreliable vehicles.
It's because they do.
As someone who has bought a 102k mile Chrysler and inherited 2 others over 100k, I agree with this user completely.
Also the tie rod ends and sis bushings will be shot, and the power steering rack will leak like a sieve.
chrysler is the ford of american cars
total dogshit
Is there something wrong with fords? I was considering an ecoboost f150. I assume they make their trucks decently

Do it. Chrysler is the only shit American brand. Certain models that Ford makes are shit, or rather, configuration of certain cars. F150 either with ecoboost or v8 are great trucks.
>I assume they make their trucks decently
>just assuming
>not doing some basic research
Yeah, you deserve what you get.
And why the fuck would you even assume that? They make the cheapest, most voluminous pickup truck in North America. Does any of that indicate "quality" to you?
Hi! I'm glad you asked!
Apparently the Ford GT, Ford's flagship supercar ($550,000.00 USD) is slower than a Corvette around VIR by nearly 2 seconds per lap!
Now, I'm not car expert but this fact leads me to believe Ford doesn't employ very skilled engineers.
I also spoke with a lady who was one touched inappropriately by a Ford consumer WITHOUT CONSENT.
Do you have a sister? mother?
I'd be curious to hear their opinion on this.
Yonysler
What other retarded things are you gonna say? Ram trucks are reliable and good? That Chevy knows how to make a transmission that can shift properly?..
RAM trucks are shit and Chevrolet products are garbage across the board. Nothing they make is quality.
>>Being this retarded
My attainable dream car, I'll get one eventually.
I'm sure it handles like shit but I don't care, look at it.
