This or a truck with a insulated cap or a truck with a off road style camper. With an SUV a couple days of "camp and fuck juices" can make the interior a bit nasty.

They have towels for that. Plus after the first day camping, who wants to hit that unless you have a a shower, jacuzzi or natural hot springs in camp?

Nissan Patrol (or Armada as it's called in the US). It's objectively not the absolute best but one of the best availible in the US market. Likely picking one up when I move to Oregon, putting better tires on it, installing brush bars, the hydraulic stabilizing system from the QX80 and a roof tent.

I was going to wait for the new Jeep Wagoneer or Ford Bronco to drop in 2020, but I don't want to wait that long and these are far far cheaper, and pretty much the best newish body on frame off roaders you can get in the US right now. Land Cruiser/LX and GX460 are the only near equals, but I honestly like these more.

>Glass transmission, flimsy GM build quality and piss poor departure angle

The only good GM vehicle in that range was the diesel Suburban with the manual, which they didn't even sell outside of Mexico for that generation.

Why do these SUVS make my penis the big penis?

Subaru Legacy Outback, I have a 4th gen

Big hit in Alaska where I bought mine 60k miles ago.

These are incredibly underrated. Just a shame there's no global diesel option, although the current gas V8 in them is close to fuel economy with their diesels of yesteryear anyway.

Nissan pickups get Cummins diesel V8 engines in the US. I hope at some point they offer these in the Patrol/Armada.

My rig is pretty comfy senpai. Tucked away in the sides is a shitload of camp gear, and a zero degree sleeping bag. The middle "floor" bits rest on those rails giving you one big sleeping platform that has 1.5 inches of foam padding.

The best? Maybe not, but its pretty damn comfy

how long bed

That's the biggest problem, it's 6'1" which is exactly my height. Have to lay diagonally if i wanna stretch out fully. Not much i can do unfortunately, thats as long as gen 3 tacoma beds get.

The good news is, you can buy/build a kit like this for any length truck bed, and it isnt a permanent fixture, it just slides out when you need to haul shit

Because you just love the utilitarian design and extreme durability

You can haul the entire state of Ohio in the back of this bricc boi. plus these things are pretty good off-road actually, they aren't rock crawlers but they do pretty good overall
