>factory spaetzle
this thread is off to a terrible start
>OP chooses 2 cars that were almost the exact same as their racing counterparts
rice usually refers to something that isn't functional. both these cars have functional everything
>Nogaro Grey style 5s
Muh dick
They are ugly but goddamn those civics are nice cars for the money.
I test drove an EX-T and it's on another level compared to the cars it's competing against (Cruze, Corolla, Golf, Forte, Elantra etc.)
Fix the rear styling and you'd have a damn near perfect commuter car that's actually sort of fun to drive and gets 40+ mpg.
Unironically this.
youtube.com
In a sedan or compact with a fin, awesome.
In a truck?
>What did Ford mean by this?
sounds like ass
>civic on another level than elantra
for 20% more money it better be
Elantra GT actually costs more
Chrysler did it before rice was even a thing
absolutely disgusting
Nothing like good ol' fake vents.
Mercedes Evo
This is one of the coolest cars they’ve ever made though
not rice try again
>if i like it, it's not rice!
How is it rice if the modifications were designed with the intent of enhancing the car’s performance?
>some super sporty new mini cooper
fake twin exaust, only one works.
>if i dont like it is rice
fucking retard. Only my greentext is correct because you are a retarded fag who doesnt know what rice is
>the radio antenna is rice
nice
could have made it less dago-ish
its a generic item at this point, they all look the same
Gotta agree.
WRX's have always been a lot more showy than Evo's, mostly due to the big bonnet scoops.
Evo's have always been more sleek than ricey, factory anyways.
>fix the rear
Why? So it can look exactly like its competition? The fact it breaks the cookie cutter mold is one of the most appealing part of its redesign and focus.
not rice, considering these cars were made to be performance cars. it's not the companies fault that most people just cruise around cities with them and do some stoplight pulls every so often.
rice is making a non-performance car look like a performance one. like putting a spoiler on a miata or rally-spec wheels on your 1.5i 3rd gen impreza.
How again are aerodynamic parts on a RWD 510 hp car rice?
There is no law that says being different has to be ugly. Honda designers fucked up. Admit it, /hg/ fanboy
Actual factory Spätzle, pic also related
But WRXs still aren't rice. The wider body, the bench wing, and the scoops are all functional.
Rice would be That fucking rear bumper, god damn.
Like with the previous model, the Civic Type-R could be saved by TCR-spec overfenders, bumpers and higher offset wheels. Without the splitter and wing of course
Reminds me alot of the old riced volvos.
the only ricey thing is the exhausts. everything else is functional (i'm not sure about the fender vent though, could be only visual)
many cars have the same GPS antenna
Mother fucker this is a scale model
How dumb can one user be?
Stop same-fagging, you idiot.
learn what samefagging means fucking newfag
It's fucking obvious one literal imbecile is posting these, you twat.
yes and? as I said learn what samefagging means retard
Yeah, you are right.
No Celica?
why do people act like it's such a big deal if a car has a wing/spoiler whatever. is everyone just that insecure?
Wow this somehow looks even worse than stock
>put fnf body kit on it, huchhueg wing and gay front bumper
>dont change stock ride height or stock power
oh is this thread really going with its premise now
Wow this looks way better than stock
I'm surprised no one has posted the Celica yet.
But those spoilers and hood scoops/vents are all functional, though.
It's not fair to call it rice IMO.
I mean both the Evo and STI, just to clarify.
I always thought pic related were actual openings to vent hot air from the engine bay. I cannot for the life understand why Chevrolet didn't just cut a hole in the hood to put those little grills on top of.
Surely it couldn't be that hard.
>the only ricey thing is the exhausts
At least they're real, unlike most new cars you see on the road now
>both these cars have functional everything
do fucking tell how much downforce that wing generates
Superbird
The side vent of the Toyobaru isn't there to reduce the pressure of the front wheel arches nor it is assisting in cooling the engine bay. It's just an ornament.
Truly awful.
Hopefully you know how much of a brain dead moron you are, but now that you mentioned it, there were Chargers and Mustangs back in the day that had fake exhaust vents on the side panels/doors, as well as intakes on the rear side windows or just after the door, all of which lead to nowhere.
bow down to your king
superbird's aerodynamic parts not proven to work, just based on guessing that it will help with air flow.
I rather have fake vents then excessive added weight.
this is fucking ridiculous
it's genious, though: they knew anyone who buys a performance civic is going to rice the shit out of it so they made it factory riced which has the main purpose of appealing to ricers and the added benefit of maybe preventing them from ricing it themselves with even worse results
well done, honda
That might be rice but I fucking love it.
that bodywork is stock?? wtf
I am going to vomit
I did like the mk1/mk1.5 Roush but it's more subtle the Saleen is straight out of FnF lol.
>not proven to work
Wrong, my man. The nose and fender vents were full on functional, and the spoiler probably was, too.
Those things were designed by ballistic missile engineers IIRC.
I was going to mention that maybe the hood scoop was meant to direct air to an intercooler but then I saw the rest of the car.
The early 2000s had a bunch of factory 'hip-with-the-youth' rice.
I think car companies just love fake vents.
Every time I see this car I think of this.
It's all functional but completely useless on the road car.
The Daytona was designed with aero in mind. Plymouth shortened the nose and move the wing back a few inches only because they didn't like the look. That lead the superbird to create more draft on itself and essentially slowing it down. The daytona was truly functional. Superbird was aswell but, it was just a slower winged warrior. That didn't stop Richard petty from gapping everyone in nascar.
The King always leading
these two always give me a solid chuckle when I see them
2nd-current gen tacoma trd sports.
>non-functional hood scoop
>i own one
nigga please
this yours?
ive seen this shitbox like 40 times
fuck no id never pay over 8k for anything mitsu, and im a dsmfag.
rear wing on that car gives 30lbs downforce at 100mph. muffler is obligatory ricer shit. the fucking taillights are car manufactures seeing the altezza/euro trend after Fast and Furious and putting them in their cars only years past the fad.
evo 8/9 is a lancer econobox with a body kit. sorry, it just is. looks like rice.
breaking the mold (sure?) and fucking up at the same time
/ourrice/
still better than the new civic hatch/si/R
What percent of these spoilers do anything at all?
Enough
It's a Group A homologation evolution, so all of them. The GT-FOUR and Evo VII were the last ones because the World Rally Car rules just let you put all the cool stuff on a standard model base car.
That god damn fucking thing is bigger than an older Accord, fuck it.
came here to post this abomination
evo vi was the last homologation one. the wings are there because of rear lift and were still functional on vii viii and ix.
Oh right the VII was homologated as a WRC but still built like an old Group A wasn't it?
I dont get this pic. is it pointing out the small fake vent which doesnt impact performance in the slightest or the parking sensor?
The front bumper on the SE-R always just seemed off to me. A lot of the sport compacts of this era have styling that just hasn't aged very well.
ducktails sound like they make sense on a truck though
