Which should I do? How many fixes and improvements are in the expansion anyway?

Innumerable. Jake unironically fixed his game, if not the entire series.

There are 112 of them

youtube.com/watch?v=CpLcPIWqK18

DODGE: GRAZED!

Anyone else get this slow-mo bug? reloading seems to fix it but it's annoying

WotC makes it feel like a new game, and it already incorporates a lot of stuff from Long War into it.

Press F in memory of Fiddly Fred...

Xth for Templars are bullshit

PirateZ is fucking awesome thanks for the recommend

WotC has way better performance and the first fun strategy layer in an unmodded new XCOM game

Androids can be psionic?

Did they change the VA for Papa Shen? I can't tell

We Gundam Wing now

I really really like this screenshot.

>warlock

Little cunt just stands at the far end of the map and spawns zombies to blow all my shit up

Fuck that guy

I wish I was fighting the assassin again

>Halfway through Assassin stronghold L/I
>Just remembered I forgot my scanners

Shouldn't have turned my brain off when I knew the mission would be all-MECs/Sectopods.

That grenadier really wants a trenchcoat.

I actually had a bunch of really hard engagements with the chosen lately. Like they'd actually use their skills and guns instead of just standing around. 2nd play through and it's my first time seeing the arc wave thing of the assassin and the tracking shot of the hunter.

>forget I gave Mox Volatile Mix
>2 faceless directly on my squad's ass on a roof
>he wrecks both with a single frag grenade

Apparently grenades snap to the tile she's in while invisible. Also when I fought her she never went invisible, just fucked off to the other side of the map to masturbate.

I had a Skirmisher with that do like 15 damage to a Shellshocked and Reaper Adversary from a plasma grenade. With Total Combat he finished it off with 2 shots. Pretty funny.

I am so happy right now, this is my only Templar and I was pretty upset about not having Bladestorm, but at the final level I was able to get it.

So, aside from Bladestorm what other abilities should I be getting on the Templar? Is the fire/explosion ability worth it? What about the other Last level skills?

What armor is that?

>first terror mission
>assassin shows up
>stabs a guy then runs halfway across the map, too far away to chase or flank
>repeat till mission failure

this doesn't seem very balanced, the only times I've beaten her in other playthroughs is when she does retarded shit next to me and is flanked/exploded the next turn. Seems like if the AI actually works she's impossible to kill

...

Doom mod with the Templar helmet.

Does Bladestorm trigger once you do a melee attack?

Battle scanners (which I know may be hard to have before the first terror mission) are really good against her. They make the fight so much less difficult.

If you melee someone and they don't die, if on their turn they try to melee you, attack you, or run away you get a bladestorm attack, even if you did parry.

Welp she decided to walk right next to my reaper and got flank revealed. That was a bit easy.

>Seems like if the AI actually works she's impossible to kill
Yeah, once she does that she's impossible to counter since she's not affect by Overwatch or any kind of effects.

They don't counter that tactic.

So if you get Bladestorm and that ability that switched Momentum for invulnerability or something it means you get a free attack?

does anyone know if the console version got any kind of optimization with the DLC or is it the same or worse

Yeah, Fortress is really good imo.

>want to start with a Templar
>don't want to feel like I'm cheesing the game too hard
help

Problably. Don't know why you'd even consider the console version since you'd lose access to all mods.

Not that guy but I played Xcom 2 during the free Weeked and enjoyed it quite a lot, now with the WotC I wanted to start a new playthrough but I have 2 major doubts.

1) If WotC adds so much stuff, should I do a playthrough without it first so I can enjoy its changes more later?

2) Difficulty, what changes from one to another? Due to my father's wishes (and yet he played the original Xcom) he made start one at Rookie, but on the next one I thought I ought at least up it Veteran.

But again, what are the differences?

use only his pistol

I mean, you can get each hero class really fast.

Auto-pistols are useless.
USELESS!

Is it just me or is the Avatar project seem to go by much slower now?

I just mindcontrolled a zerker that was in the first pod and used it to reveal her everytime she revived.

>grim horizon
>lost world
>protect the relay

kill me now

WHEN YOU WALK AWAY

YOU DONT HEAR ME SAY

PLEAAAAASE OH BAAAABYYY

DONT GO

Just use your lures.

Uninstalled DragonPunk's Second Wave Plus.
Mod author is a total cunt and his shit breaks saves every other update, fuck him.
Going to use SWR versions instead. I'd suggest the same to anyone else unless you can't live with a buggy corrupting shitty Red Fog.

Thanks. What about the Psionic Storm ability?

You can start with Wotc and I guess the major difference between the difficulty is when the enemies show up, their HP and the avatar timer.

TEMPLARED.com

I actually spent all my AP on all the Colonel Templar skills since they're all pretty good, Conduit is basically a soul fire+stasis(humanoid only tho) so it's great if you want to steal some HP and at the same time stunning a person, Ionic Storm is really great if you get 3 focus since it can do 12-19 Damage and Ghost is great since you basically have a 2nd Melee character but it loses 1 focus per rend so you need to play smart with it.

Not shown: Purifier exploding in your face

No point in playing vanilla. WotC adds a new strategic layer that's too good to pass up. If it's your first time playing a XCOM title but are familiar with turn-based games I suggest Veteran, the game has a inverted difficulty scale so the game is harder at start than end. It's made even more so with the introduction of Chosen.

>Difficulty, what changes from one to another?
It affects enemy stats and how much things cost and how much income you have. Legendary unlock some AI limitations as well.

I guess I'm rushing scanners every single game again just like the old days when faceless attacked you on your turn.

So explain to me how Templars are not OP with parry?

Base XCOM 2 was a flawed but good game. WoTC is legit 9/10 and I can't think of anything they added that I dislike.

Enemies hardly aim at templars who parry, deflect don't often proc and when your parry is down you usually get flanked on, also Spectres can bypass parry same with Mind Control.

My only gripe is the black magic used to reduce mission loadtimes to fucking nothing has ruined the deployment scenes.
No longer can i quickly take a piss while my potato cranks out a new mission slowly, i've even turned the graphics up.

I mean you could always let it play out. It's kinda ironic they added all these new dialogue in the firebrand when the loading is so fast.

Thanks user, I got Bladestorm, Fortress, and Ionic Storm. I'm gonna work on getting Conduit next.

He feels like some sort of god now, immune to explosions and fire and dealing 11 damage to anyone who gets in melee range.

>implying you don't have fortress on your templar
ISHYGDDT.jpg

I can think of one thing I dislike and it's how, paradoxically, the assassin is actually harder on maps with shitty cover and fewer ways to break LoS. Because of how her AI works, after she rapes one of your guys, instead of her just running around a corner somewhat near you to hide, she instead sprints the length of the fucking map to find a fucking tree to hide behind or something else completely out of retaliation range, where she does the exact same bullshit from next turn. Tunnel maps are like heaven for that bitch because she moves about 6 squares and you can instantly grenade her out of cover, big open maps? Bitch has run through 3 fucking pods and is rapidly approaching being on a different map altogether.

Other than that though yeah I agree it's a really damn good addition to the game.

Also equip him with either a medkit so he doesn't get poison or mindshield so he won't get mindraped.

It entirely disregards the DLC and adds its content without its narration or missions. You can encounter a Alien Ruler and Tygan and Bradford will start talking about Vahlen despite her never being mentioned in the game earlier.

MOVING AT THE SPEED OF DEATH

I was considering either a vest or mindshield. Grenades (which I was using before) seem kinda useless on him, and a mindshield prevents him from randomly getting mindraped.

Yeah, fuck the Assassin. I pity the nigger who gets Immune to Explosions on her.

Spectres are fucking obnoxious. I never even heard they were adding a new enemy type, and then bam, the most fucking annoying enemies that aren't HP sponges in the fucking game. Basically direct and far more threatening upgrades to sectoids.

>tfw unleashing my reaper AoE Templar on a pod of andromedon+spectres
with some lost behind to make it funnier
That was a clean wipe. with bonus ionic storm for extra bonus points
A shame he doesn't have bladestorm

Well this is new

The pseudo-fatigue system is very vague and difficult to work with. To gauge how long your guys are going to take to recover Will is a crapshoot

Only if you select the integrated option at start. You can have them as normal if you don't.

base defense?

Yeah Nades and Ammo are pretty bad since Auto Pistols are pretty shit and nading seems bad when you can always go for Rend damage. I tried doing Overdrive Serum since there's a surplus of Berserkers now but it's pretty bad.

Should I let my Skirmisher keep Arc RipJack rather than Ionic? I mean it's 2 less damage but the stuns are pretty high chance.

They can also go invi so you need scanning protocol/ Scan orb which is pretty annoying. Just had a surgical sitrep (only 3) and 1 pod had 2 Spectres almost lost if I didn't bring 2 skirmishers and a templar on it

>Going to shoot a priest with 3 hp with elena
>100% kill
>she gets revealed because shitty priest is inside his fucking bubble
>another priest mind controls her
>SPARK overwatches the shit out of her and kills her
I hate priests

Chosen Base tileset.

Jesus christ user there's so many jaggies in that picture It feels like it fucking bladestormed me when I looked at it.

>spot a pack with the reaper
>killzone it with my sniper
>activate and one shot everybody

this shits pretty gud

theres a bunch of new main menu scenes now

I basically never fucking hit my grappling attacks, let alone stun so I just went with more damage.

If you're not an unlucky fuck like me, I think Stun is better because the best melee attack is to pull people into your squad, and if you get a stun on them it's just icing on the cake.

Feel the pain of the toaster

I'm actually thinking since you usually wipe a whole pod before you even get to stun so more damage might be better. This is why Skirmisher feels awkward since their abilities are dependent on having a lot of enemies in your LoS to use your skills like Battlelord but then if you have like 8 aliens in your LoS your whole squad is probably dead.

MAGNIFICENT!

Really? I think I have missed like 3 out of like 40 grappling attacks, and the stun happens oftenish.

>parry
This can be used advantageously with bladestorm and good positioning.

BLADESTORM

youtube.com/watch?v=lhELIVeaHb8

Yeah it is, it's basically a safety cushion. Weirdest thing is I never proc deflect (2 focus shit) but when my Templar got mind control by Warlock and the resistance fighters were shooting at him I thought oh fuck he's dead, he proc'd deflect 3 times in a row (killing 3 resistance fighters tho)

Wait, I can? So Advent Facilities are not forced to have Alien Rulers until I want them to?

>assassin can spawn in black site mission

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

If you integrate it you don't have an option to choose which facilities have rulers in them, if you don't integrate but don't check rulers pop up at random but if you don't integrate but check DLC is at its base form i.e Viper den shit. Also all 3 options have the buffs and nerfs.

the first three to spawn have a specific ruler, then they rotate through the facilities after you activate them

...

Chosen are guaranteed spawn on the blacksite

What PCS should I keep an eye out for for each class?

>finish clearing out a mission
>final hit on the relay
>destroy it
>game ctds
>reload
>back at the start of the mission

time to 'powerup I guess
