First for godot

>tfw you will never make a game as popular as yandere sim

ansdor.itch.io/slipstream-backer-build?secret=1qCGRI9U2MQrtUlokqt9dBXzg8

reposting from last thread, new demo up for all my fellow african-americans

includes AI-generated waifus, drifting and more

feedback welcome

Game will come to you but only if you put opening curly brace on the same line.

>insert picture of the if{}else if{} jungle

>tfw people will never shitpost your ugly ass mug every time your game gets mentioned on taiwanese photo board
feels actually pretty good if you ask me

Asking again in hope of help.

Has anyone used gamepad support with Unity before?
I'm needing a way to set up which controller goes to each player.

I've got turn order working, but now I cant just say 1st "joystick1", because joystick1 might be going 3rd.
I think I know a way with a set of strings, but I was hoping someone had figured out a better way.

Well, it's got gameplay now. I guess that makes it a game!

I laughed at that meme but today my code doesn't look much better.

reposting in case it helps
the way I tend to learn is doing a tutorial, then messing with the tutorial, then doing some projects of my own, and during all that I check the documentation and various communities and just google things for help
well if by "learn programming" you mean "learn the keywords, the syntax, and the standard libraries" it'll take you anywhere from a day to a few weeks
if you want to get good at programming, that'll take longer
you just need to practice, like with any skill

Oh man, I just looked at the other threads replies.
Oh nooooo.
Why didnt you warn me?
why..

I bet if he had just left Yandere Sim as a small meme game and started a new project rather than trying to turn Yandere Sim into a proper stealth game then he would actually have something decent by now. But of course it would be stupid for him to do that given how many children worship him and his game

what asset would you recommend?

Haven't used it personally, but assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/21676 seems to be the best.

user, If I told you I was the original artist looking for a programmer would you believe me?

Sure would if you posted your portfolio.
Sure wouldn't if you didn't.

I'm sorry but I'm just not interested in working with you. I'd appreciate it if you would stop responding to me, thanks

Made movement smoother, i never thought something this simple will spawn too many bugs, i will spend this week reworking my code, rebuilding the map should only affect moved rooms instead of everything, units can still reach a room when it moves after setting destination.
Static ships where easy but they don't accept new features that easily, so progress will slow down now
A lazy solution would be to update the map at depart and arrival of rooms and keep things as they are, i may go with it if it takes too long

What if I told you I was a programmer getting better art but doesn't want to learn shaders?

This is comfy as fuck. I love it. Gorgeous visuals and nice waifus. How big is your team?

This feels like a real game.

This is the ideal form for a video game protagonist.
From any objective or subjective standpoint. You can not disagree.

>lose to the rival
>"Just as I thought!"
F-fuck you too.

>someone follows on tumblr
>check out profile out of curiosity
>they claim to be a gamedev
>nothing but reblogs of memeshit and political virtue signaling
The competition is fierce.

I am an artist, but to work with me
first you must solve my riddles three

great game but i couldn't figure out how to be good

Seems pricy for what it does.

Hey, how do you want me to open it on my mac? I need to know what you mean by open in Terminal.

Yeah, if you're not making games professionally. But if you are, it's $45 to save dozens of hours of programming time.

>else if
>with a space
i don get it

autism

There seems to be a free download of it on the net...

thanks! it's just me and the music guy, but I've been working this for a veeeery long time and I'm fucking tired of it. I hope to release next month and move on.

t-thanks for playing!

I don't know how macs work but I think the terminal is called iTerm. if you run the game from there, it will probably output something when it crashes.

maybe this explains it: osxdaily.com/2007/02/01/how-to-launch-gui-applications-from-the-terminal/

I had another guy test it on his mac and he said it's working ok, so I guess it must be related to your machine

I love aggy daggy

webm if you don't mind

I've seen your posts a lot. Can you give a synopsis as to what game you're trying to make, or are you just messing around and trying to learn?

...

Yeah i figured that's what you meant. But it launches the application. No report or anything on it though. I'm using a 2016 macbook pro with Sierra. Still crashing when i press OK

we love you too nodev

>sure wouldn't if you didn't

I don't but I'm hitting the sack presently. Will toss one up in six or seven hours to the thread.

...

holy shit has it been that long
I hope you've stopped this shit
I need an artist and this make it fucking excruciating to try to get anywhere with that in this community

>tufteposting is nodev
wrong

No it doesn't.

Step one: You post your goddamn portfolio.

Didn't do step one? No response. That's how it is.
If it's 'excruciating' to post your portfolio: you don't have one.

what? it doesn't what?
I'm not that guy, I'm replying to that guy
I'm not an artist, I'm a programmer

are you looking for an artist?

Then please use my reply as a guideline to help you avoid wasting your time. If they don't go through step one, they're wasting your time.

>he doesn't realize phase 2: random deviantartists hasn't yet begun
Yes, you have a foolproof plan, heh heh

It was around the lewd jam. Everyone and their mother were looking for artist around the time.
I also remember there being a lot of
>0-5 dev
>5-9 art
type post.

Yeah, I do. Figuring out where something came from is accomplished in two button presses and a second or two of waiting.

Then I'll message that dA account. If the user doesn't respond immediately I have my answer.

aggy daggy, I'm feeling like running on some tracks of my own, but don't want to deal with developing a racing game engine. Is there a decent enough engine where I can create tracks and import texture or do I have to do it all myself?

crop and mirror, my friend

OK, but honestly I'm not even picky, if they contact me outside of Veeky Forums I'll assume they're serious, I don't need great art right now, just art
yes, are you an artist? do you know one? I can pay, but not a whole lot
you can contact me a couple ways but the fastest is Discord, I'm General_Vagueness#3453 on there

Mirror and re-search, friend. You want to dupe me? Make art.
Guess that makes you an artist, huh?

I'd rather discuss your game here first if it's all the same to you. What genre? How far along are you, what engine, any particular style you have in mind?

>I'd rather discuss your game here first
I'll stop you right there

>Hello I am troll

Don't even bother responding.

er, I didn't read the whole thing, this might not be a trap
I've been working on it for a year and a bit
it's an action side-scroller
style would be sort of realistic but not very, I guess? a bit pixely but again not very

trying creating a folder called "saves" next to the executable. the only exceptional thing that happens when you press OK is the creation of the save file, I think the game doesn't have permission to create files or something

>I'll
Stopped reading there.

she looks significantly more human now thanks to a kind user's advice. she looks really manly right now though but that is much better and easier to fix than ET

i mean you're not wrong but i think they're a little too big. makes the hurtbox too big and thus makes the game too hard

>falseflagging as one of the devs who posts their discord handle from time to time
genious

Yarp. You can make her more feminine by pushing out her skull some on the top and rounding off the front part of her skull.

Eyes are still a bit off because the surrounding skull/tissue doesn't quite go 'human'. I'll try and make a guide for that real quick before I hit the sack.

Nah, just confirmed with GV that he's presently in the thread.

OK you can e-mail me, [email protected]
if you're not an artist or you want to bitch or call me fake, you don't need to bother sending anything

Sounds pretty cool, I would definitely be interested. Tell me more, got any examples or styles or anything I could look at?

would you just fuck off please

In full screen mode things get real funky. Tapping arrow keys on the menu it will instantly jump several options down, making it really hard to select things. There's also this weird jittering on the start screen. However once I'm actually in-game it seems like everything works fine, even the in-game pause menu works correctly. I'm on Windows 10, if that helps you at all.

Also will there be an endless drive mode? One without timers and without rivals, just a chill drive through the levels. Maybe even choosing which levels to appear.

Alrighty agdg I need your wisdom:

Designing backpacks that look good, can equip backweapons of all sizes and shapes and still fit on the back of any mech has been really difficult. So I am thinking of combining backweapons and the backpack into one part. Obviously this takes away from the customization but it would make designing and balancing overall a lot easier.

Good idea or bad idea?

Pic not really related, it's the Jackdaw set and the partially finished Crow set.

i cant seem to do decently no matter what. i cant take corners at a decent speed and if i slow down i lose. if i dont slow down i hit the wall and lose. i like it a lot but i cant get very far

i dont know why im having such a hard time. i must have prosopagnosia or something

Yes, if you can simplify into general moveset or playstyle swaps then absolutely do it.

it worked

Man, I love it.

that's the funniest glitch I've seen in my game. it only happens when you're on fullscreen? are you using a 144hz monitor or something unusual like that? it looks like the vsync is broken

are you drifting? you need to drift to make the curves. release accelerator, tap brake, accelerate again while holding left or right.

great

thanks

It's cool, you're just not able to see the flaws because you're less familiar with facial anatomy. Once I point out the flaws I bet you'll go 'OH! Of course it goes that way.'

this is my most recent meaty progress (heavily compressed to be postable)

Oh and I'd say either go for fattening the bottom lip with a slightly thinner top lip or make them both equally thin - that's a beauty point a lot of folks don't click onto immediately.

My monitor is 60 hz. And yes it only happens in full screen mode. I also noticed my graphics card was humming, only in full screen mode. Which only happens when a game is running at several thousand FPS. So I suspect the game is running at several thousand FPS on the menus.

Blah. Also: You don't need to go as heavy on the bulging for the skin coming down from the eye that meets with the cheekbone - I just did it that way so you could see how the geometry would bend and fold unobstructed as it seemed like you were having trouble figuring out what the eyelids and surrounding tissue looked like in 3D.

If you do want to give her bags under her eyes, make them subtle and don't go as hard on the bulge on top.

Ha, seems fun. So am I right that you're a bit new to gamedev? I'm not looking to be paid, I just want to do more gamedev art on somewhat casual projects

now that you mentioned, I realized it's also happening here. I'm on a laptop without a gpu and it isn't going go far beyond 90-120 FPS so I almost didn't notice. I'll look into that now. thanks for reporting.

Doesn't this happen in STALKER? As in, menus will render as fast as possible and melt your GPU?

user be honest are you in depression and doing a videogame trying to find any sense in your life.
How do you deal with the depression?

I never played Stalker, but this does happen in some games.
This is why games should either vsync or cap at something reasonable like 300 FPS. Since I doubt FPS about 300 would ever matter at any point in the future.

but you only need 60

Um I think you mean silky smooth cinematic 24 FPS.

like this maybe? took this in perspective view this time since it makes more sense
thank you again for taking the time to help me user. you didn't need to but i really really appreciate it. i feel like im learning a lot about faces

Lips should be upper lip is 1/2 the size of lower.
For youthful look anyway

What do you think?

Looks like programmer art, dude.

It very much is I'm afraid

where's my portfolio? which engine do i use? where is my game?

A little on the plain side but it's perfectly serviceable, for programmer art, that's pretty okay.

Very welcome, user! I'm just happy to help when I can. I think once you spherize the tissue around the eyes you'll be we'll on your way to a very nice female head model.

wtf has anyone seen my game? I swear to god it was just right here

stop using anime as reference.

>learn about faces

I always recommend learning the planes of the face, so you start with a solid base instead of trying to unfuck an AYY LMAO.

good shit

>are you drifting?
Suddenly the game is 100x more fun. This is awesome!

>remember 200000 line spaghetti file
>realize all of my code is in one file
how do i avoid this problem before it gets bad agdg
