Oh man, I don't think I can do Grim Horizon. There's too much Dark Events that would be impossible if they stack too much.

You only get a 2nd hero class from the faction you first started or you can download the more hero classes mod

Chosen actually cut my supplies to 12 a month at one point in time, had to rely on Council missions and Supply Raids to make it. Advent armor and weapon stacks with Grim Horizon would be fucking cancerous also if you get the one where you never start with concealment.

Okay, so three short-lived attempts at Commander beta strike, I think I'm just going to go for either commander, or beta strike. But for those that are curious about the latter, basically.

How do you even do Beta Strike? You usually kill a pod when they show up but since they have double health there will be pro long fire fights, injuring people and putting them in the avenger for days/weeks also because fights are longer Will is drained faster.

Sell everything on the Avenger that isn't nailed down on the black market, and then buy the supplies the black market offers each month. Skullmine like a fiend to replace the intel you spend on supplies each month.

Faceless are pretty easy to deal with, I'm surprised I haven't seen the good old Cryssalid on missions Dark Event, did they remove that?

Reapers are just the best.

As for ennemies:

Depends on how strong you are. If you get the Reaper order that lest you delay timers, you can probably handle the 1-2 extra turns it takes to kill them, and you probably want to avoid civvies anyway. If not, though, unless you breeze through mission timers it's sort of a big risk.

Dammit these chosen tick me off but at least their guns are cool.

Skullmining is a 70% success and and the tech score of ADVENT is high so you'd probably fail a lot.

On Grim Horizon? I mean it's manageable if it's only for a month but using phantom rangers/reaper all the time will always leave them tired.

Yep. The wounds don't dock you in the ship THAT long, because you're healed by half at the end of a mission. Tiredness doesn't seem to be that much of an issue so maybe they adjusted that too.

Still tactically, at the beggining, killing a pod as soon as it shows up, at least in commander difficulty, isn't really that much of a thing. Closest I've got involved a trooper and a sectoid hanging out near an explosive barrel while I had a reaper. And even then, the sectoid made it out with 1HP.

So they balanced some stuff on Beta not just the health? My problem is retaliation missions since Civs usually get aggro'd on even if your whole squad is there so you'd most likely lose that region unless you keep yellow dashing.

The music isn't too bad at first, but there's not a lot of variation for how long the games are. A lot of other OST work pretty well too, from Mass Effect to Xenoblade Chronicles X, to things like the ever so appropriate "you fucked up" theme.

The DLC story missions are cut if you have the "Integrated DLC" option checked when you start the game. Rulers guard Avatar Facilities initially before randomly appearing as normal and the SPARK shows up as a Proving Ground project. There are balance reasons behind it, although I have yet to hear a good explanation of what they are.

Talon Rounds and Laser sight, get them crits. Also get the Rebalanced Skirmisher Mod, it's really good since it basically gives your skirmisher skills cooldowns rather than 1 turn per mission use.
