How do I recruit more faction soldiers? Do the three freebies have to die before the game will let you have another one?
Alexander Green
>having a waifu
Colton Harris
Are you enjoying the videogame. I am.
Nathaniel Perez
Oh man, I don't think I can do Grim Horizon. There's too much Dark Events that would be impossible if they stack too much.
You only get a 2nd hero class from the faction you first started or you can download the more hero classes mod
Zachary Robinson
/xcg/, come closer... Ther- *cough* -There's something I need to tell you... N- *cough cough* -Never switch on...Beta... Strike...
Robert Kelly
So do Templars have Purple eyes and White hair or I'm stupid for changing their default looks?
Jonathan Hill
Eat the supply cut imo, it's not like that's your sole income.
Jeremiah Gray
I like to think not since in Xcom EU/EW psi classes weren't "forced" you had to find someone who was compatible with psionics while in 2 you basically for them to be a psi-ops hence the psi amp and shit.
Cameron Howard
>not having a waifu Good luck being gay

Isaac Walker
>tfw WotC too expensive but don't want to pirate it because want to support Jake
Benjamin Barnes
It is indeed
Cooper Harris
Really? You already need more supplies than you normally get. How am I gonna build up the Avenger if one of the biggest sources of income gets slashed in half?
>There's too much Dark Events that would be impossible if they stack too much I think that's the point - trying to get through the campaign before RNG stacks the odds against you too much. It is fucked up though, absolutely.
Ian Lewis
Lily is best waifu, r-right?
Anthony Wood
yes
Christian Martinez
Like you wouldn't believe. How does one import the XCOM crew in WotC? All I have is the Developers pool and Bradford isn't in it. In fact, the Bradford in the bar keeps appearing with muttonchops.
Lincoln Lopez
Worst person on the avenger
Jace Richardson
>he didn't get it on gmg
Ian Stewart
Chosen actually cut my supplies to 12 a month at one point in time, had to rely on Council missions and Supply Raids to make it. Advent armor and weapon stacks with Grim Horizon would be fucking cancerous also if you get the one where you never start with concealment.
Easton Nguyen
Okay, so three short-lived attempts at Commander beta strike, I think I'm just going to go for either commander, or beta strike. But for those that are curious about the latter, basically. > Sharpshooters are kinda the same, since Lost's life doesn't really ramp up. So you can line the pistol headshots just fine. Given you're more prone to be lightly wounded, them avoiding even that is pretty neat. > Specialists have more chances to use their skills, and hacking mechs is pretty useful too > Rangers survive a bit more, and can play a bit more agressive, as long as you're not activating two pods at the same time, it's fine. > Grenadiers are in a weird spot. On one hand, sustained autocannon damage is nice, and the shred is pretty much necessary. On the other hand, you get the same amount of grenades for much more health to dig through. > Reaper's peashooters is pretty useless, but the explosive capabilities are pretty good > Skirmishers are more or the same, so amazing still > Templars' utility is more highly valued given the need to focus fire and all that. On the other hand, you have a harder time finishing off ennemies for easy focus > SPARKs are probably pretty much like grenadiers, with less of the grenade downside. So they're most likely good...
Alexander Nelson
Focus on other resources and then buy/sell/convert shit on the black market.
Alexander Cook
Considering the photobooth counts SPARKs as female, Julian best girl
Alexander Wood
He took that photo with the Photobooth after doing the Shen DLC. You can probably copy the old import list from XCOM 2 into XCOM 2 WotC.
Jonathan Gonzalez
Delete this at once.
Tyler Butler
>talking shit about Tygan behind his back >fugly >doesn't work in the field except for a single mission >when you can have 10/10 templar waifu
Nathan Johnson
How do you even do Beta Strike? You usually kill a pod when they show up but since they have double health there will be pro long fire fights, injuring people and putting them in the avenger for days/weeks also because fights are longer Will is drained faster.
Camden Anderson
>Make SPARKs unable to make bonds because "robuts" >Use female pronoums instead of "it" JAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Michael Collins
>Really? You already need more supplies than you normally get. How am I gonna build up the Avenger if one of the biggest sources of income gets slashed in half? Sell everything on the Avenger that isn't nailed down on the black market, and then buy the supplies the black market offers each month. Skullmine like a fiend to replace the intel you spend on supplies each month.
Caleb Diaz
>extraction photo from Firebrand's perspective
Clever, I like it.
Nicholas Bailey
I suppose I can manage it. But is preventing Faceless on every mission really worth the trouble?
>the one where you never start with concealment Had it in my last campaign since the second month. It's honestly not that bad, just use more Reapers and Rangers.
Matthew Brooks
Faceless are pretty easy to deal with, I'm surprised I haven't seen the good old Cryssalid on missions Dark Event, did they remove that?
Jacob Green
>Basically solo'd a supply raid mission because of the high explosive Sitrep >Now at a bodycount of 38 by the 2nd month
Reapers are just the best.
Connor Martinez
As for ennemies:
> ADVENT standard troops aren't really much different. Priests are a bit worse, due to fights naturally being more sustained anyway. Stun lancers are a bit better, due to their life making it harder to stop them before they hit you once. But overall, they're all manageable. > Sectoids are much better, given they have too much life to simply use your three quasi-rookies to fuck'em up, the fourth being mind controlled obviously. Flashbangs are pretty much mandatory right out of gatecrasher. > Hunter keeps you on your toes, and assassin is less damaging. Warlock, on the other hand, is better if only because it's much harder to shoot down far from your troops 10+ health psy-zombies > MECs and anything with good armor must be shredded, or twese two points of armor are gonna translate to like, eight effective HP at least
tl;dr go for it is you like melees and psionics I guess?
Aaron King
>I suppose I can manage it. But is preventing Faceless on every mission really worth the trouble?
Depends on how strong you are. If you get the Reaper order that lest you delay timers, you can probably handle the 1-2 extra turns it takes to kill them, and you probably want to avoid civvies anyway. If not, though, unless you breeze through mission timers it's sort of a big risk.
Charles Long
Dammit these chosen tick me off but at least their guns are cool.
Brandon Jenkins
Skullmining is a 70% success and and the tech score of ADVENT is high so you'd probably fail a lot.
>Had it in my last campaign since the second month. It's honestly not that bad, just use more Reapers and Rangers. On Grim Horizon? I mean it's manageable if it's only for a month but using phantom rangers/reaper all the time will always leave them tired.
Nolan Gonzalez
Tell me user, what is the secret to beautiful, luscious hair?
Aiden Morales

Jaxson Price

Asher Johnson
Hidden faceless is a buff, take it and get 12 mimic beacons
Blake Diaz
Remember the blacksite vial? Bradford was right when his guessed it wasn't just water in there.
Michael Perez
Yep. The wounds don't dock you in the ship THAT long, because you're healed by half at the end of a mission. Tiredness doesn't seem to be that much of an issue so maybe they adjusted that too.
Still tactically, at the beggining, killing a pod as soon as it shows up, at least in commander difficulty, isn't really that much of a thing. Closest I've got involved a trooper and a sectoid hanging out near an explosive barrel while I had a reaper. And even then, the sectoid made it out with 1HP.
Blake Sanders
Ouch, almost the same one as I got instead mine is brittle
Josiah Cook
Somehow, I don't think you're talking about the Colonel's 23 secret spices. I was actually wondering about what mods were used, but I'll take funny replies
Ryder Parker
Pretty sure it's the nier hair pack.
Jaxson Bennett
So they balanced some stuff on Beta not just the health? My problem is retaliation missions since Civs usually get aggro'd on even if your whole squad is there so you'd most likely lose that region unless you keep yellow dashing.
Luke Perry
>tfw XCOM2 is much better with Mass Effect's music Why does Xcom's music design sucks so much?
Jack Jones
Only three of them are, the other two are from vindictus pack i think There are that many hair packs in the first place anyway
Hunter White
You aren't making it any easier, lads. I want to keep my sweet, sweet cash, but I can't imagine dealing with Council missions that have Chosen, Rulers AND Faceless all trying to crawl up my ass. Fug.
>On Grim Horizon? Yes. Seriously, just get more Rangers and Reapers.
Levi Green
It doesn't, but the Mankind Divided soundtrack does go very well with X2 as well.
Jackson Clark
Man I fucking hate Faceless on council missions especially when they activate near the evac site and decides to swipe at your guys, destroying the Evac zone.
Xavier Wood
>decided to plat every xcom game before starting X2 >currently slogging through The Bureau

Adrian White
>terror mission with chosen, 5 berserkers(first apperance), 8 mutons on a small map. commander difficulty >chosen summons a priest nigger that i kill but lulstasis and mind controls my support the turn after he should be dead >CUNT RESISTANCE PROCEED TO SHOOT MY SUPPORT FOR 12 DAMAGE
I was tremendously pleased when the berserkers started smashing those resistance cunts.
Connor Foster
Mankind Divided's composer and EU/EW's composer is the same guy btw, don't know why they changed him in XC2
Levi Scott
Oh yeah, that's definitely a killer I forgot to mention. Just like the lost, the civvies don't get a health increase, so they get mowed down pretty bad.
Asher Myers
The Bureau can be safely skipped, it's barely an XCOM game in any sense.
Ian James
Probably too expensive or busy.
Parker Ross
Oh that's right, Michael McCann. The man is a wonder.
Easton Taylor
He was working on md
Brody Green
Mutons have nice biceps.
Zachary Anderson
...
Nathan Price
The music isn't too bad at first, but there's not a lot of variation for how long the games are. A lot of other OST work pretty well too, from Mass Effect to Xenoblade Chronicles X, to things like the ever so appropriate "you fucked up" theme. youtube.com/watch?v=MUDw4oDl5NQ
Adrian Kelly
Can't have everything, I guess.
To be honest, I don't really listen to the music while playing. I listen to podcasts or videos in the background until I run into a really hard mission and then turn them off to fully concentrate
Brayden Barnes
Yeah, this.
Christopher Morris
Sooo, given I just encountered the viper king on my second blacksite, with no context at all, does Shen's Gift still function as intended in WotC? I never played Alien Hunters before and I really feel like I'm missing some serious context here!
Ignore this faggot Please continue.
Alright, I need to get my hands on some templars. What is it about psionics that makes every girl who gets it a complete qt?
I am convinced that WotC did something to her face to make her less cute... Good thing too; I felt bad sending her into the field.
Kevin Lee
Okay, I'm sold. Guess this campaign will be hobocom, but at least there won't be Faceless everywhere.
Brandon Lee
Resistance Chads are just culling your ranks of all weakness.
Lincoln Cooper
Advanced Will is giving 18 Focus? Wot, My superior PCS is only giving 14
Dominic Gray
>brutal You're fucked.
Elijah Parker
The DLC story missions are cut if you have the "Integrated DLC" option checked when you start the game. Rulers guard Avatar Facilities initially before randomly appearing as normal and the SPARK shows up as a Proving Ground project. There are balance reasons behind it, although I have yet to hear a good explanation of what they are.
Adrian Wilson
>he doesn't have the fix
Gabriel Rogers
Thanks brah
Jose Bennett
So what do you guys recommend I research and make for the early game? Doing my first playthrough of XCOM 2, not sure what the fuck is going on.
Austin Russell
I read it's a permanent decrease to will? Is that true and if so is it intentional?
Jose Peterson
>he uses possibly illegitimate fixes When they patch it, i'll go with it. Rit now, I'm just going to kill the assassin early and probably remove all the troops I do it with from rotation.
Samuel Flores
Try to get Magnetic Weapons fast since Ballistics will be under powered really fast.
Bentley Cook
I wish i had listened.
Jack Powell
Yes, no.
Easton Torres
What Numeric Health Display is that? I'm using a different one and I'm getting kind of sick it since it's too colorful.
Henry Lopez
>Mutons with 18 health NO NOOOOO I WANNA GO HOME
Christian Watson
No mission will ever have a Chosen and a Ruler at the same time.
Eli Stewart
Maybe it got nerfed? This was a while and several games ago. Plus I think I had a GTS thing which made them more effective or something...
Aw what? That's what that did?! Laaaame... And I'm guessing it can't be turned back on mid-game? Son of a bitch; now I have to start over! Like I said, I never played Alien Hunters before and I really want to see what it's all about!
Blake Bennett
what a terrible fate
Jayden Sanders
That means your DLC is "integrated", which means you skip the Nest *and* Shen's Last Gift missions that provide some valuable context. Sorry, user.
Levi Rogers
The new title screens are so good.
Christian Rogers
Those two better be bonded.
Bentley Russell
How should I spec my skirmisher?
Oliver Powell
Which should I take? Remote start seems good for shenagins but
>shredder
Jaxson Wright
I should learn how the soundtrack modding shit works and stick some track from Battlezone's expansion in it.
Angel Evans
Talon Rounds and Laser sight, get them crits. Also get the Rebalanced Skirmisher Mod, it's really good since it basically gives your skirmisher skills cooldowns rather than 1 turn per mission use.
Joshua Lopez
Shredder can be saved for later
Eli Jackson
remote start now, come back and get shredder later
Julian Stewart
At this point, I'm almost thinking of going for Rookie difficulty beta strike for shit and giggles.
Asher Gutierrez
>ranger with katana and templar gangbang a sectopod to death
GLORIOUS NIPPON STEEL
Jayden Cook
take remote start for wiping whole pods from stealth for free get shred later
