Yeah. To be honest I missed the days when Game developers also hire animators/make their own OVA's and animes. I mean I have yet to see a Skull girls anime or a Mortal Kombat series(besides that 90's cartoon).
I dont know if Tekken or if DoA has their own anime's or just dedicated 3d OVA to further the stories/develop plots on their characters. I think the fact that SNK makes a fatal fury anime is the reason as to why FF become so relevant and well known. The animation and Mai showing nipple slips is not bad too. Imagine if Kasumi or Ayane or Mileena has nipple slips if their franchise got their own OvA's, imagine the multitudes of kids who will wank off to such official nudity that they will be compelled to look for the source of where said characters came from and play their game... and in time learn to love to play it beyond the waifus.

Looks like I missed a Terry/Kyo discussion in the last thread, shucks.
As the other resident Kyofag who happens to be a Terryfag who ALSO likes to shit on Ryu from a daily basis.
Someone stated in the last thread that in KOF 94, the way they seemed to present Kyo was in such an abrupt fashion, making him outshine other famous SNK titles such as FF, AOF, Ikari, and Physco Soilders.
The way user sort of described was right, considering that Kyo is a take on the arrogant ,flashy, hot-shot douchebag type of shonen protagonist, but he's also flawed realistically with his many past mishaps, and insecurities, such as the aforementioned learning disabilities.
He loses faith in himself when it comes to education, and becomes dreary, blue, and alone. A big reason as to why he may play the guitar is to relieve him of the stress in fear of being criticized for not going to college and ignoring his education. from that logic, he may even be autistic.
He was also down in the dumps during the events of KOF 99 after realizing he was separated far away from his friends/girlfriend, and the fact people used his DNA the make clones of him widespread, while the orginal man himself was missing out and bored out of his mind. He probably drank and was homeless like how Terry was in the OVA for a time, before Shingo and Benimaru found him.
Well, at least he always has Iori to relate to, considering their backgrounds are pretty similar.
Also the way they present Kyo winning his fights aren't as hard to believe as Ryu's. Kyo often needs the support of Benimaru, Daimon, K', Chizuru, and Iori to bring down tough opponents sometimes, and struggles to fully bring the opponents down until he fully finds their weakness.
Whereas Ryu's fashion of winning fights in SF alone are presented in the most Gary Stu way possible, especially when it came to Sagat when his edgelord kicked in to save him at the last minute.

Continued from It's actually quite a pain to see Ryu always having to win the fights "just for the sake of plot" when it comes to various peoples Sprite Animations/Fanfictions, it's easy to tell that they crank up Ryu's AI above all the rest just because "HE's DA MAIN CHARACTERRRRR" or "the most ICONIC FIGHTER OF ALL TIMMEEEEEE"
Gary Stu may be going a little far, but those were the vibes I was getting from Ryu. Then again, my hate for Ryu might be biased and may be considered unhealthy to people, but he generally really is the only fighting game protagonist I dislike.
Liu Kang from MK isn't really all that good either, the MC for those games should have been Scorpion and Sub-Zero, but he's still not as bad as Ryu.
Shun'ei I would consider meh as well, but I can't go that hard on him, considering he only had the chance to shine in one game.
Finally, I'd like to point out how I like that Kyo's main drive so far in Destiny is to try to attempt to fight Terry. The CG anime isn't really as promising to a lot of people, especially with them faces, but I like the fact that we can finally see a resolution of conflict between the two of them, making it a great rivalry after all these years of waiting. The two cool dudes of SNK will finally duke it out.

Kyo is definitely relatable, even his voice actor, Masahiro Nonaka, related to his character is saying that he was "young and reckless" like he was during teenage years.
Nonkaka found Orochi/NESTs saga Kyo more relatable then Ash/NEW saga Kyo though.

That's exactly what I initially thought when I saw the video in my subscription feed. Either way I kinda like him. Seems kinda cool since it looks like he has some sort of stats buffing ability and the whole drinking booze then breathe fire thing is always neat. Since he's playable he must be some sort of hero given the game he's in. I'd like to know more about his backstory.

Three KoF games with XIV having a singles and doubles event damn. Well, Destiny it is a beat 'em up for the most part, but I think you can go 1v1 against other players. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wouldn't even be mad if SNK gave up on the US and decided to focus where their stuff thrives. It's curious like how Gatoray mentions that the event's site domain is SNK china based. If one scrolls down it's in cooperation with a bunch of chinese companies.
