Why don't we get nice things?

Why don't we get nice things?

Attached: car_photo_496861.jpg (1013x675, 44K)

What is it?

a barren 4cyl car is not a nice thing.. unless you leave in Zimbabwe

Those who want a stripper aren't going to be buying a brand new one. I'm not honestly sure what this car's market is, motorsport maybe?

86 with cheap wheels, unpainted bumpers, and no radio

that would be cool as fuck. should come with a 3cyl diesel too

because you're americans and you oly buy cars if they are automatic with boat engines and weigh as much as a small moon.

its sold for people who want to build a car not for retards who think of using this as is.
Youre going to get rid of those parts anyway why pay for them

Sort of. It's for people who are going to replace all of that shit, anyway. Racers, ricers, whatever.

Motorsport and tuners

No, it's sold for poorfags

They made imprezas sti in this matter. 17 or 18inch steelies look ridiculous

how much ?

no poorfags drive audis.
Poorfags want most badge and bling for least amount of money so a 500 dollar quattro A4 from 2000 is ideal for them

And then they take a loan to fix it or buy a new car.

Poorfags are poor because they are retarded with money not because they make smart descisions

some cheap brand like dacia should do something like this

They do.

>leave in Zimbabwe
Blacks have amazing spelling abilities.

Abealities

this
there's a reason poor areas are always full of clapped out A3s/A4s and there's hundreds of first gen A4s listed for well under 1k

gt86 rc, non bullshit gt86 - bare car, not even ac in bundle. cheaper and lighter, what's not to love

i'd buy one over stock gt86 for sure

>what's not to love
Paying 20k for a car with steelies?

why not? consider price drop as an opportunity to pick rims (and its size, and tyres) on your own

also, i've just checked to be sure and rc version drops 40kg of weight. not bad, weight goes below 1200kg, and ac compressor probably eats up some 10hp too, so it's nice to see it gone if you want mostly fun car

in all fucking honesty with a better set of wheels that thing would look better than the regular version.

It's kind of like the car company giving you the middle finger and you accepting it. At least put some hubcaps on, jesus

Why does this look better than the regular 86?

Hubcaps look horrible

Can't be any worse than a car on four spare wheels.

A Sandero, you say?

very gud car i must say

if only it looked less racy and 2 more doors, family guys like me could drive it woithout feeling bad. Hope Toyota is working on a sedan version of this.

This can't be real.

If it is, hows that ppl aren't buying it for rally purposes?

Like literally, you change the tires, install the roll cage, the tech gizmo and you have an N4 ready to roll

JDM only

Oh fuck off, Toyota could win lots if they exported it for racing intentions.

They did it with the Celica St18x, they SHOULD do the same for the 86

>America is the reason cars like the E60 M5 were made available in manual

Keep dreaming europoor.

>bare bones shitbox model
>nice things

I swear some people are retarded.

Except that would ruin the whole point of the car which is to be lightweight and fun. There’s plenty of safe, fuel-efficient, FWD cuckboxes for you :)

>barebones shitbox model
>$24,601

WHY is this allowed?

Why are people so fucking retarded

They had to design a completely new platform for the 86 which costs money. Somebody's gotta pay for that. It's not like a "hot" version of some fwd grocery getter hatchback where they can just turn up the boost and sell it for an extra $15k.

>california emissions pass
>import law
>getting cucked versions of every single car
keep telling yourself like you live in the right country fag

Well, considering the new Supra might be auto only, this is what I'll get in its place and supercharge it to ~300 horses, plus GT wing and widebody.

There's some pretty disturbing news about manuals:
>Spoke with a junior engineer and they confirmed the manual was left out due to projected take rate in the US being 20%, with the US also projected to be just over half of all global sales.
>That alone did not doom the manual though, apparently US safety mandates along with Toyota compliance in things like collision protection, lane guidance, etc is what did it.
>It was going to cost $500m to develop and implement a system capable of moving past these issues and as such they decided to not bother. Apparently going forward, Toyota will no longer build any new manual vehicles which is more or less already done. It is also directly related to why the 86 has no planned updates at this time; not the only reason though.
>There is no actual consideration for a manual at this time.
Thanks Obama...

Moving ever closer to manual driving being banned.

>They had to design a completely new platform for the 86 which costs money
More like they didn't bother to modularize their platform and offer varying tiers of models meaning the product offering was not diversified enough to break even sooner resulting in a higher base price.
>engineer: hey we have existing boxer engines that are good
>accountant: no let's just make an entirely new one and pointlessly waste money
>engineer: hey we have existing celica platforms we can modernize and adapt for this car
>accountant: no let's just design one from scratch and blame it on "cross-brand design requirements"
>engineer: hey we have a MASSIVE parts bin that we can use for components, we could for example use suspension from Subaru's WRX vehicles
>accountant: why the fuck are you trying to be all efficient and shit you dumb cunt lmao go design another bespoke grommet or bolt something

>Well, considering the new Supra might be auto only
This is 100% BMW fucking over Toyota so that BMW's new Z car has some market appeal. If they both did manuals nobody would buy the Z since the Supra has nostalgia and meme appeal.

How much fucking weight does a radio really add? This seems.at first like it might be the cheap alternative to the regular 86 but it's actually for the fags that are just buying it for a track car. Don't pretend like it's a good option for the guy that wants a fun daily car on the cheap.

Kek Toyota does not want to make a cheap fun car. Reminder that the SFR is literally never happening and the shpra will be automatic. Toyota is ded.

Its about driving the cost down not the weight lmao.
The only reason why it has bumpers at all is being compliant with government regulations.

Should be offered in white and with black sideskirts only.

>no a/c
>what's not to love?

Most people in the market for a car like this are either going to take out the HU anyways or change the HU and speakers. Why put it in there? I'd be happy if manufacturers just left me some speaker wires.

They race them with stock bumpers though. Rather the only reason the body is painted is because it's the simplest for the assembly line that way.

Open the window, problem solved. It's only a problem down south anyway.
