Hmmmmmmmmm what could possibly go wrong
lol the truck is built for pre running
The thing would last an hour if you used it as an actual prerunner. My fwd shitbox has thicker skid plates...
Didn't the Raptor actually complete a prerunner course in a relatively decent time?
Wheres that user who owns a raptor? i gotta ask him how it does with heavy ass trailers
>calls dad
>dad, i wrecked your truck

Unironically a good engine, wish they didn't sound like shit though.
>drive shaft snaps in half immediately
>blows up
Yeah, with an SSI tune and disabling knock detect. Otherwise, it's an extremely strong power train. There's a guy on the EcoBoost forum who is putting up double the stock numbers, 750+ hp
It was a short course and it barely limped over the finish line. It wouldn't stand a chance in the Baja.
Good engine? You don't move 7000lbs around with a tiny engine.
Tfw you are a Ford fanboy, but for the Coyote and not the """"egoboost""""
Pls let this 4 and 6 cylinder hell end
>tfw bought an ecoboost instead of a coyote
Should I trade it in? I want a 4x4 long bed single cab coyote. Idk if that even exists
Idk about you, but compared to the Coyote it's much easier to make more HP out of the ecoboost with just bolt ons
>v8 cucks assmad that the ecoboost is superior
I literally can’t stop sucking black dick
>this assmad
>Sucking the dick of attention no matter what
>You don't move 7000lbs around with a tiny engine.
More like; you don't move 7000lbs without enough oil
elaborate please. all off road cars i've seen were turboed
isn't it pretty much the standard for american made vehicles? your shoddy quality is second only to the chinese i think
why dont they use ecotec tech in a v8?
I'm just mad they didn't make a twin turbo V8 instead.
>implying they'd waste time with a redundant configuration
Why is twin turbo V8 redundant when a twin turbo V6 isn't?
f
Because the twin turbo V6 hits the objective measures Ford is targeting. This may come as a shock to you, but outright peak power isn't the sole objective engineers target when developing a powerplant for a specific vehicle.
Personally I think the Coyote should be discontinued anyway in all but the more budget half ton pickups. I think the Mustang GT should be an Ecoboost V6 over the V8, although then I guess the GT would suddenly white ant the GT500 sales.
Did you guys know black semen is 80% more nutritious than white semen? I love it
>have you ever been so asshurt, your beliefs are insulted but you can't refute?
Your thinking of german build cars my dude.
I've never driven one but isn't the turbo lag supposed to be really bad?
I don't people who buy Raptors car about gas mileage so I don't understand sacrificing the v8 unless it's just saving Ferd money.
S/o/viet here I have been pretending to be white on Veeky Forums for years but I have to come clean
Pic is what I really look like

Everyone knows you're american.
Why's that?
holy shit LOL
but why

Yeah but why have reliability and simplicity in a truck when you can have

Instead it has a better engine.
Thoroughly enjoying the amount of unwarranted V6 hate in this thread
The V6 sounds like dogshit. The 4.0L V6 in my 2004 Ranger sounds better.
Turbo lag is almost non existent with the tiny Turbonis they have on them
Out of curiosity how often do vehicles reach such high mileage without being basically rolling relics on the streets?
>18836109
>100k miles
>high mileage
go buy a prius nignog you so concerned about gas mileage, v8 is the way to go in a truck fagglet
>lesser power and torque is the way to go in a truck
Makes sense
>running costs aren't relevant to small business owners
How to pick a basement dwelling LARPer 101
Pretty fucking often. I'm looking for a specific car from 2013 and I can't find one with less than 100k.
>do tests where there's 17% less oxygen than the normal environment most people live in
>forced induction works better than naturally aspirated
NO FUCKING SHIT. They sweep it under the rug with a dismissive comment, but it's the entire goddamn difference in this scenario. They're crippling the NA engine with the environmental conditions while the turbo engine barely notices a difference, because it's got a turbo blowing EXTRA AIR.
>the option that works in a wider range of conditions shouldn't be rewarded
>pre running a stock truck
Go ahead do it
Your seeing cars most likely in rally run them which would be fine where everything is remotely flat and torque isn't the biggest issue the problem comes when you off-road in a truck and are trying to get over, threw or out of stuff and you need that instant low end torque and can't wait for a turbo to spoil to get all your power
Plus the idea of having to spin the hell out of that turbo and have it possibly fail when all you were doing is showing Cletus you could climb that rock
I don't think you have any idea how turbos or torque converters work.
>tell him to sperg more
>spergs more
Like pottery
>running costs
do you have exact numbers? how long term are you talking about? did you include parts? let's see the results of your investigation
But what if turbo 8?
>can you provide broad generalised evidence of circumstantial outcomes?
I can't, but perhaps you can if you're suggesting it's possible. Until then we only have fuel economy and servicing costs to go by.

Isn't the Raptor already top tier though? Its not hacking sales from another model
It is, but top tier doesn't mean "shoot for the moon"... Unless it's dodge Hellcat of sorts.
Raptor is already far above the closest competitor in its rather exclusive segment, they might as well Dodge Demon
>airbags deploy
jej
That's more evident they don't need to. I'd leave it to Saleen or a Shelby badged special if you wanted to see a modern force fed V8 F150.
Then why is Ford going back to a V8 in the next Raptor iteration?
