Overrated V8 F1 sound
Not to me, its my favorite of all time, fuck me I wish my dad recorded it when he was at 24h
I hate how the RX8 looks with the orange side lamps on the edges of the bumper
White looks so much better
Did that primary injector replacement, wasn't as hard as i thought it'd be, was more difficult than i hoped it'd be. It was mostly just being careful to be meticulous and label all the wires, vacuum hoses, and fuel/coolant lines i pulled off.
Car runs way better though, i definitely fixed my flooding issue... The thing was having a problem starting if i let it sit for like 30mins-1hour after warming it up/driving it. It'd rev up and then idle down and die. Now it just starts right up.
Yeah we got screwed in the US with the amber markers, Probably going to order the UK oem clears soon.
y tho
How does it help in any way compared to clears?
so what parts are not compatible from older 13b(rew) kits to renesis rebuild kits?
just the apex seals are different sizes between them?
No idea, federal law requires cars to come with amber markers in the states.
The clear ones have a different shape as well, have a slight hump in the center while the ambers are flat.
Will it pass inspection if you change them?
Also you're much better off than me m8, I gotta get permission to get permission to get permission from 50 different regulatory bodies if I want to paint my car another color, such is life in EUropistan
>rotary general
there aren't enough people on this board with rotary powered cars to warrant a general.
If Veeky Forums want's to prove me wrong, reply to this post with a timestamp on your rotary powered car.
I drive an Avensis but I love rotaries, Mazda in general. I'm getting an RX8 or a GT86 soon
You don't have to own one to know about it
yeah I know I just wanted Veeky Forums to prove me wrong with a bunch of (you)'s tbqh. I wanted to get a feel for how many people on this board actually own a rotary car.
>Renesis Miata
That must be fucking terrifying to drive

Make the engine less thirsty and i am all in.
best way to get the most MPG's out of a rotary is to not modify the engine at all.
Thanks
I'm kinda wondering why he didn't choose a 13B REW instead of the Renesis, easier to fit and infinitely easier to extract more horsepower out of it
>tfw really want a rotary but can't get one with current job
One day
Brappy boi
Anyone actually daily a rotary engine?
I've heard pretty much everyone say it's a horrible idea, but I really want to buy an RX7 as a daily.
Just bought a 91 FC for 2300. Headlights and wipers don't work and some body work is needed. What am I in for?
Yeah you can pass inspection with clear corners, some states require amber bulbs to pass though. Luckily I'm in Florida so no inspection, I can run clear bulbs/lenses and the cops dgaf.
mileage? been rebuilt?
An FB or non-turbo'd FC make pretty decent / reliable dailies if you take care of them.
>vert
why are miatas allowed when they dont have rotaries?
Odometer wasnt working when I got it have since fixed it. Engine seems to have been rebuilt. Compression came out really good.
op is a faggot
Then you're in for fun times, the 13bs in the rx7 are pretty damned reliable since mazda didn't give a fuck about emissions. So they didn't gimp the omp rates like they did on the rx8s just to pass.
The number one thing you need to keep on top of is coolant flush intervals so you don't bust a water seal from acidic coolant.

you guys are fucking faggots I cant even run this shit with diesel and now I have to buy a new engine
fucking kill yourselves
I can't believe I cant have the engine do something it wasn't designed for
t. (You)
I don't get how a rotary with reliability mods is shit
It's certainly one of the best engines I drove (felt similar to an M6)
hoping to get her reinsured and back on the road, unfortunately my income is so low that I can barely afford gas right now :'(
Future plans for this bad boy are: new suspension and brakes, replace the old steering wheel and seats. And eventually a full respray. She makes about 240whp right now with minor mods.
>not getting the joke
most of the faggot who like to tell you that rotaries break down and eat shit treat the engine like a piston engine. The joke here is that I say that I swapped in a boat anchor and treat it like a rotary and the shit dies on me because it's designed to be treated like a rotary
its a shit reply to shit bait
because people swap rotaries into Miata's. Have you tried looking in this thread you stupid cuck?
see
Where can I find on the west coast:
Someone who can make a custom titanium header and exhaust system for a rotary engine? BHR has a fantastic design, but they only use stainless.
Someone who can make a beautiful sequential gearbox for a rotary?
Rebuild a rotary.
Do great custom body work, including a complete repaint of the engine bay and exterior once the engine and tranny come out?
Anyone who does 3 rotor engines? Not sure if I want to go this route, but am considering it. Also may want forced induction. Still not convinced I need/want it for class changes.
>sequential gear box
Quaife makes a 6 speed sequential, also OS Giken makes a 6 and 7 speed
>3 rotor
Any rotary shop can rebuild a 20b
inlandempire.craigslist.org
What do you guys think of this fc? Any idea why it would stop running after starting? I was thinking fuel filter/ fuel pressure regulator. But could it also be a blown engine?
>Any rotary shop can rebuild a 20b
Yea, but I've heard mixed results of the 2 shops I've found. Was wondering if you had a specific name, preferably with experience, that you would recommend.
>overheating
NOPE
Mine is even worse
Beautiful Turbo II, user
>90psi
>good compression
Nah thats rebuild territory.
No it's not. Below 85 is rebuild territory. 75 is the minimum acceptable amount.
Bump for locations of good rebuild shops and custom Ti work.
75psi is it could go at anytime territory, 80-90 is good rebuild territory if you want to be able to reuse housings.
A complete shitshow, RIP your wallet
>independentautowa.com
Not bad, looks like base non sport model though. Which would mean shitty brakes and suspension compared to a sport model, hard to tell without a pic of the dash to see if it has a tcs/dcs switch. Up side would be lightest weight of all rx8 models though sub 3k lbs.
RX-8bro here, it seems I'm a bit late to the party. Unfortunately I have no timestamp photos so you'll just have to take my word for it.
Spent the best part of 6 hours over three days after work this week fabricating, machining destroying and refabbing a jig to bolt my brake drums onto.
Either Mazda designed these to be replaceable or brake lathes weren't commonplace.
There's a mil (not thou) left of meat before maxdia. So probably not the former.
The scratches aren't deep enough to warrant replacing so I'll just skim it back.
Even then, I might upgrade o 626 drummies at rear in the future.
How much more fuel does the RX8 use when you thrash the shit out of it? Worst case scenario (track days e.g)
Is the disrepancy between full out driving and normal lawful driving as much as in piston engines?
I have the exact same fuel up times as my buddies WRX. It is roughly 5 - 7 mpg on the track pending on our lap times.
Bump for any good shops for rotaries and Ti work on the west coast. Can get to Las Vegas, too, if you know any.

WHY IS EVERY FD ON CRAIGSLIST OVER 20K
I would be fine settling for an FC those go for pretty cheap but I feel like By the time I can afford an FD those fsggots will be asking for 40K
Because it is the pinnacle of the RX body, still competitive to this day, and if you drop a Renesis in it with turbos = to the same power output as the Wankel, it would be a little more fuel efficient, a little more reliable, and just as good.
It has become a firm collectors car, and it will indeed likely increase another 5-10k in the next 10 years. The problem is, if you get one, you have to put it in a garage and seal up the engine, and never drive it, otherwise it loses value. Also, there are stupid people who will pay $20k for it instead of 8-12k like it should be.
Also, to add to this. I live in Reno, NV and a faggot tried to convince me his completely unmodified FD3S was worth $42k. It had 52,000 on it and smoked when it ran after warming up. Said he had it in the garage for several years and just brought it out. Apex seals can't sit like that. The engine has to move or be taken a part for storage. The only redeeming factor was both the exterior and interior were nice looking. Wouldn't let me test drive it so I couldn't tell you if the engine was indeed about to blow. Offered 18k and walked away after the 42 was dropped. About 4 months later, I saw it back on cl as a roller for $25k. Sent him an email saying I will buy it for 5 grand just to mess with him.
supply and demand faggot.
Also its possible to find one for around $15k You can't limit to only looking on craigslist/in your state.
and also, when you clearance the side seals to corner seals, just pick one side on each seal to feeler gauge like so?
>pic related
>if you drop a Renesis in it with turbos = to the same power output as the Wankel, it would be a little more fuel efficient, a little more reliable, and just as good.
Umm... what?
