I'm enjoying Commander difficulty, but admittedly even though I'm only up to mid May, its feeling a little easy.
Although, I've done some save scumming here and there though (mostly just sudden full cover crit deaths that booty bothered me) so maybe I just need to not be as big of a bitch and let it be harder just through that.

I've never done Ironman though, maybe I should start over and turn that on instead of going to Legendary.
I'd worry about unfair shitty bugs ruining the experience though.

Is there a mod that make the Lost always target the nearest non-Lost unit? No aggro percentages, just going for the closest flesh like proper zombies.

So how do I get a spark to show up in training center? Cycling doesn't seem to be working.

As a former relentless savescummer that eventually broke the habit and learned to love the struggle of Impossible/Legend, you really do just have to let everything happen. The more I savescummed, the more that it felt like I wasn't even playing a game, I was just solving a puzzle where you can always just rearrange a piece if it doesn't fit the first time. I got bored fast. Sometimes you'll be surprised how many losses you can take and still power through.
Try the EU Aim Rolls mod if you're getting tired of the crits, XCOM 2's default system makes crits happen more often especially in full cover.

save scumming in legend also makes it a breeze.

next time try letting your mistakes be punished and it'll feel awesome if you can get yourself out of the shit situation. A couple deaths or failed missions won't ruin the campaign anyways. Play how you want tho it's 2017 after all

Forgot to mention, it'll also make you a much better play. I used to make so many shitty moves and dashes because I'd go "oh not fair" if I revealed something and savescummed. You'll learn to drop that fast when it's losing you campaigns very early on.

with that said even if you're playing ironman keep a copy of your save to either ween off the habit of savescumming 24/7 or make sure you have a backup in case you get a campaign halting bug

So you can't break warlock's mind control?

It really depends on group comp and skills your troops have. I went in same level as you, except with ONE plasma rifle, though the guy barely shot it, so it doesn't make that much a difference.

Anyway, as long as your group comp is solid, you can handle most anything it throws at you in there. Final rooms were easy since I have a Ranger with both Chain Shot and Rapid Fire and Mox just keeps giving him actions to pump out the damage. Nothing survives for long.

Am I the only one that hates the look of the T3 weapons?

Did they make psionics harder to reach? I haven't a single one in my roster and I just realized nobody's even mentioned them in a long while

It's because the Hero classes make them less incentivized to get. You are also building a lot of other things. So while it isn't hard to get, you would be delaying thing you might need. A psi rush in vanilla was possible and while it might be in WotC, it's less viable.

I don't think you'll find any who disagrees, thankfully there's plenty of cosmetic mods that are wotc compatible now.

Strange, he should have at least tried to move away. I know when he can't grapple he tends to run out of Line of Sight. Maybe his pathing got bugged out and he thought he couldn't move. I've had units do that, just sit in the open and shoot after being grenaded.

I'd do this. Nothing burns you out quicker than bashing your head against legendary. Get the hang of not savescumming, play a moderately challenging campaign, have the satisfaction of a victory under you belt and familiarity with all the new mechanics before moving on.

Legend can get a bit tedious sometimes. Just go with Commander, get a feel for taking losses and how you can recover and go from there.

Psi-Ops are really difficult to get now. You need to go Ring -> Hospital before you can even start. You need psionics research. You need early game elerium to build the psi chamber. If you go ring -> hospital -> psilab, then that means no gts, training, proving grounds, resistance comms, etc.

What exactly is the difference between V-Sync and Framerate Smoothing options?

Did WOTC make bleedouts more likely? In vanilla I got like one bleedout per 100 hours of play but every other soldier in WOTC seems to bleedout instead of die. Not using the resistance order either.

Two completely different things. V-sync locks the game to your monitors refresh rate to prevent screen tearing. Framerate Smoothing tries to dynamicly adjust settings to make sure the framerate stays somewhat concistant rather the a jittering mess.

Tags don't work with the SDK unless you manually go and edit a file, most people don't know this because it isn't supposed to work that way, so people put tags on their mod, but the SDK doesn't uh "upload" them i guess unless they are manually added.

And a lot of people that know don't go through the effort of adding tags because it takes effort. In other words, tags are useless and there are thousands of tagless mods buried in there.

You can still savescum on ironman, just end the xcom process and re-do the last turn

It and Chain shot have the same Aim Malus, so nothing is different. Just the fact that you have the other skill when the other is on cooldown. My Ranger has both as well, it's pretty nice.

I would actually have been more pleased if they had buffed Demolition, since using grenades for cover destruction can be a bad idea when it comes to the Lost.

Definitely wanted all my hero classes, specialist was needed for heals, sharpshooter is my highest ranking, and grenadier for Chosen's blast weakness. With the weapon mods on the Skirmisher's bullpup (along with bond extra action), she could outdo my ranking ranger.

I tried to expand as soon as I could since that means extra supplies. While that was always a good thing in vanilla, it's actually a little bad now, since it means you might 'activate' a new chosen and they can start messing with you and gathering information.

So I would say just do it once you feel comfortable with it. Resistance orders can take care of Avatar Progress, so almost no reason to try to B-line for facilities. Only reason to expand and find new chosen is so that you can start hunting them, which might net you a free promotion, which is a huge power increase.

I got lucky and my Ranger rolled Chain shot and Rupture. So he had to come, 3 extra damage and then Mox can give him extra actions for 5 attacks total? I would be crazy not to.

Supposedly there's a way to trick the game. I suspect someone just edited an ini though.

Stalkers are wildly OP. They're basically invisible, can turn cars into tactical nukes and have an anti-matter grenade.

You have yet to experience the power of this fully operational Pod wiper. Just wait till you get Banish and hope you get Tac Rigging so you can put ammo on her.
