There are different team configurations in RB though. There needs to be a separate queue for Era 5 vehicles and up, with NATO vs USSR, and a map selection suitable for the setting(Sinai, Fulda etc).

Most the stuff they'd face isn't exactly 90mm proof though. Like the T-54 or IS-3 might be a bit of an issue but you got to remember that there'd also be loads of WW2 vintages like T-34/85s, IS-2s, SU-100s and such around.
But yeah thing would've been a bit hard.

100mm didn't get really good rounds like those APFSDS rounds until the 80s

T-55 had most of the same issues as T-62 but they are not talked as much because for the time being the issues were acceptable but once T-62 came out with the same problems Soviet allies weren't too happy about it. USSR tried to sell T-62 to it's allies by refusing to sell modern ammo for the T-54/55 and offering to sell T-62 instead.
